    ‘Amach Anocht’ means ‘out tonight’. They’re fluent in English and Irish (Gaeilge) which is an endangered language due to British colonialism. H.O.O.D and Incognito by Kneecap have more English in them

    Kneecap are fantastic. They speak English, but Irish is our old native language but not everyone speaks it anymore. To hear young people rap in it is just 😍 Listen to H.O.O.D. or their new song Thart agus Thart

    You should definitely check out Gael Gigolos, and you should also look at a song by Denise Chaila called Anseo (means here in English, like when you're in school at roll call, they say your name, you say anseo!) The song is in English! :)

    Aye they know English lol it’s just the type of rap they do. Very pro Irish & it’s what their about. It’s the Irish languages as well. Which the British really tried to get rid of (and did a solidly affective job at)

    Gaeilge is pronounced "Gweel-ge" or as near to it as makes no difference.
    These lads have English as a first language, they use their native tongue to help revive it.

    • @IsMiseTerri
      @IsMiseTerri 3 года назад +5

      It is not pronounced "Gweel-ge". What on earth?! It's pronounced "Gayl-ga or Gwayl-ga" depending on your dialect.

    Even if these boys sang in English you wouldn’t even get 1/3 of it as it would be in an ulster dialect with ulster slang. No way it would work half as well in Munster or Connaught Irish. Deas boirb.👍

    If you want to watch the movie KNEECAP it comes out this week. You’ll have a better understanding. I’ll post the link below of the trailer. It’s getting some of the best reviews of any movie of 2024. It also won the audience prize at Sundance.
