Lovely job! Thank you for all the gentle guidance and encouragement. I want the back to be as pretty as the front. Your tips were practical and easy to understand. Happy stitching!
Hi Nat! I just watched the tips and trick video you posted about keeping the backs of your stitching clean and attractive. Thanks for showing the backs of your work. When you are learning without a person to give you feedback, showing the mistakes, the backs, and the prep you do upfront to make a good lesson really help! I never thought about basting the "extra" fabric out of the way. I bet this will help prevent me from sewing my embroidery to my shirt in the future!
I'm glad that my video was so much helpful 💜 I'm making notes and collecting ideas for this topic. It is an important aspect of our work and I would like to make a separate video tutorial and give more details about everything I know and could find. Thank you so much for taking your time and give me your feedback 🥰 i really appreciate it 🌷💕
I am a fanatic about having the back side as neat as the front of my work whether I am working on clothing or something that will be covered up with a backing. It was ingrained into to when I was taught embroidery in grammar school.
I have run out of wall space for all of my embroidery projects, so I have begun stitching on kitchen towels. They are useful, every home needs them, and they make nice gifts. Because they will be washed repeatedly, it is important to start and finish each thread by running the waste thread back and forth to anchor it well. Once you get used to doing it, it becomes second nature.
Great tip! 💜 There are so many ways to start and end threads without huge knots. I want to collect all those methods and show in one video. I might be useful for such fanatics like you 😘
