Wow the picture of you jumping that humongous leaning pole jump and doing it bareback ! That is extremely
Incredible and very hard to do .
What a imortal genius of a gentlentle man. To have accomplished so many titles, medals and honours is indeed with out compare. Cheers.

They left him out of the 2012 London Games. Controversially it seems.

Why did they leave him out?

I think he kept taking the wrong courses because he was drunk- that’s what I heard so I’m not 100% sure that might be John actually

@@dollyrules4871 Ha. Back in the day at the HOYS many riders were well inebriated. Tommy Wade who rode the very little Connemera cross Dundrum with great success often had a skinful before entering the arena The wonderful late great Pat Smyth the pathfinder for all female riders and the first to go to the Olympics would often have a gin or two to give herself courage. Show jumping was more laid back in those days, more fun, less intense and there were never the huge sums of money around,. Horses were relatively affordable and interestingly even the top riders only had several horses at once on which to complete; often a speed horse and then a bigger grand prix one . Once heavy sponsorship started the yards expanded and riders were all professional.. I remember when. only amateurs were allowed in the Olympics. Ann Moore ( silver medallist 1972 Munich) only had two rides, the brilliant Psalm and the grey April Love . She never expanded her yard and retired very young. Nowadays much of it is so boring,:.over-bent , enormous horses ridden by very tall riders. Few personalities to remember. No wonder BBC dropped it. Remember David Vine who was synonymous with show jumping.

@@rohansrider 😂😂😂 - yh sadly it’s all about safety now whilst in the Olden days it wasn’t as much and it was more intense and fun - the riders knew their own risk
