Thankyou. I was so stuck because my entire house has fittings like this, my towel rails, hand towel rings and toilet paper holders and all use an Allan key. I never thought about an Allan key. Thankyou! Now I can fix my entire home!!!
Legend! Just wanted to say thank you! Our toilet roll holder broke off, and that round bracket was still in the wall. You saved me hours trying to pry the thing off (and probably damage to my tiles, too)! So thank you for this! 😊
This was excellent! I couldn't understand why it kept falling off. Your demonstration taught me I had the plate screwed in incorrectly. Also, learning the name of the screw was a huge plus too.
Thankyou SO MUCH for this video . Loo roll falling off the floppy toilet roll holder has been doing my head in for a year ! Didn’t want to get someone in for a toilet roll holder ! Finally found your solution . Simple when you know how ! Thanks for saving me a few $$ 👍👍
Thanks for this, mate! Had the handle/holder part come loose and the company that made it was complete rubbish and didn't put an instruction manual bloody anywhere on the website. Glad to know it's an easy fix once I've got my hands on an allan key!
My fixture would not stay on the mounting plate after tightening the grub screw. Your suggestion to use a hammer to re-flatten the mounting plate fixed it. Yes! Two months of frustration fixed in two seconds. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this, I had no idea how these worked and I thought I was going to have to use putty or worse tape, but a 5min job made realistic to someone who is not handy at all, if I can do it with this video, anyone can! Thank you so much!
Thank you! Ours broke today on one side. So we bought a new one. But I didn't know how to take it off withou ripping the wall out! Thank you and God bless you in JESUS name!
Thanks so much. This has solved an issue for me! The tiny hidden hole was completely filled up with dirt/dust/godknowswhat so we didn't even know it existed!
Fantastic - this little clip really helped me. I am a complete idiot with anything to do with tools, and I just knew there had to be a way to get the damn thing off the wall without having to demolish it...I just needed a mini screwdriver (and the sneaky little screw was at the bottom of the holder - so I couldn't see it if I was standing erect)...job done - Thank you!
*Mark* this video was worth watching to just learn the term *grub screw* Nice video and thank you! Giving you a like and subscribing. p.s. I love that TP holder. It looks so British *LOL*
This is great but my problem is I have a stuck grub screw (is that what you called it?) or set screw, very small, straight edge, underneath my toothbrush holder that i need to get off. I don't know what to do. Put a hole in the wall?
Hi I worked this out and tightened the unit up but the metal piece that the toilet paper sits on is loose. I searched and found this video but do you know how to tighten the single piece the paper sits on?
I looked through the comments that were made but did not see the one piece of information that I was looking for and that is the size of the Allen wrench that you used. I cannot find where I put the Allen wrench I used to initially install my toilet paper holder so I have been trying to figure out from the wrenches I own in an Allen Wrench Kit the correct size. I did not want to strip the head of the screw on the bottom of the toilet paper holder.
Hi Frank. They are not all the same size. with Allen keys pretty much they will either be too big just right or will spin inside the hole. I wouldn't stress about stripping anything.
hi Mark, question: my TP roll holder is exactly like yours except that it does NOT have a hole at the bottom, where you used the Allen key! any possible advice ?? thanks
Yes. grab your camera and make a film just looking closely at the fitting close to the wall and under and around the fitting. There will be something somewhere or even maybe the plate against the wall will clip off? MRT
Still haven't been able to get the wobbly toilet paper holder off the wall. The grub screw is definitely missing. I don't want to damage the wall trying to get it off. What do I do? Can you please help me?
Matt Clifford There is no set size. There is even metric and imperial sizes for Allen keys. If you get a set of Allen keys that is best, then just try them until you get one that fits. 😃
Great Video , except in my case the screws wont tighten tighten the bracket to the wall no matter howmany times you turn them ! The plastic fasteners appear to have worn the plaster board holes too much Wondering what my options are here?
something as basic as a towel rack can serious put you in a anxious depression lol. I paid someone and they slapped it on the wall with the plastic anchors that came with it. Was loose in a day. Tried to fix it myself. No luck. Finally put toggle bolts in and that tighted the mounted FIRMLY to wall but the set screw doesnt seem to want to hold the bar securely. So irritating. Next thing is some strong silicone on the underside of rack and let that dry permanelty
I wouldn’t glue it as that can destroy the wall if you ever remove it. If the screw is missing take the fitting down to the hardware store and get a new grub screw or replace it. MRT

Thanks. May your toilet paper never drop. 👍🏻
This is great but my problem is I have a stuck grub screw (is that what you called it?) or set screw, very small, straight edge, underneath my toothbrush holder that i need to get off. I don't know what to do. Put a hole in the wall?
Spray it with wd40 then wait a few hours then try again.
If that doesn’t fix it cut it off with a hacksaw. Don’t damage your wall.

If it won’t come off then the grub screw is probably still there. Or maybe it is bent. Try flexing the base
What size Allen key did you use? I’ve got a few that need tightening and am not sure what size to use. Thanks
Matt Clifford There is no set size. There is even metric and imperial sizes for Allen keys.
If you get a set of Allen keys that is best, then just try them until you get one that fits. 😃
Alan key goes in but grub screw only moves a little each way making a grinding noise. How do I get the grub screw out please?
It will come out anti clockwise. They are often tight.
@@Marksreviewsandtutorials I got my phone under there and it looks like the actual grub screw is missing yet I can't get the handle off the wall.

Thanks very much!
What size Allen key?
They are not all the same
Mine was stripped. Can’t get any Allen wrenches to fit. Guess it’s broken forever

Righty, tighty; lefty loosey!
Well it's anchored in the tile. Screw is gone, should I just put gorilla glue on it?
I've tried everything small screw drivers, allen keys. Not coming off. Thx for any advise, mark. Oops.
I wouldn’t glue it as that can destroy the wall if you ever remove it. If the screw is missing take the fitting down to the hardware store and get a new grub screw or replace it. MRT
I have tightened the hell out of the screw and it still moves from straight
Once you have taken the holder off the wall, on the inside should be a bolt in the middle. Try tightening it; it worked for me.
just saved $88 for a handyman to fix it. Thank you
Hi Anna. So glad it helped and well done.
