This is what stops me from wanting to buy that year. I’d rather buy a higher mileage 5.0, but love the 2004 to 2008 body styles simple and clean!
Its really not that bad, find one that had good oil changes and your golden. Used to have a 2004 and it had 150k something miles before I sold it, now I have a 2010 with another 5.4l and it's running great
Agreed. If it had consistent oil changes should be a solid motor!
That sucks! I have two 2004 F150's. One with the 5.4 that I just got 3 years ago and one with the 4.6 that I have had for 11 years. No major issues with the 4.6 but the 5.4 has over 200k miles and I have had to get the rear end rebuilt, new radiator, new timing set (sounded like a diesel the first two years of owning it) and right now my oil pan is leaking. I am sort of in the process of elimination phase with it. I just redid the entire AC system this summer and I am just in it too much to give up lol I am about 4 months post timing job and so far it runs great so I will see how much life I can get out of her. Love the truck otherwise and I knew this was an issue with the 5.4's going into it!
Same engine problem on my 2006 F150 5.4 FX4. My local Ford dealership said we recommend an engine replacement.
Those damn 5.4 triton's were junk! Have to really stay on top of maintenance with them.
The paint job on the RC cars is perfect.

2014 FX4 absolutely love the truck problem completely rushed and underneath everything completely rusted just traded for a 2018 EcoBoost lariat totally love the truck
@@joebump7034 Nice! For my next truck I've thought about doing a 2018 style EB or a 2nd Gen Raptor. Not really sure which direction I'll go!
