100,000 years ago dose not seem like a long time ago but given what humans are doing now its not unthinkable. Things will never be changing this slow again.
Innate language motivated by poverty of stimulus.. Undeniably a child will 'absorb' if you will a tremendous amount of information exceptionally from his mother (or father if he is the one providing said stimulus) amongst all the data that is provided to the child. Hypothetically, what would happen if both parents are deaf and mute? Hope the stimules won't be a foreign language.
Children can actually learn sign language in the same way as normal language. They would probably pick up whatever the spoken language in the region is though.
