I've seen Marillion live but never met Ian in person ... but spoke to him on the phone once.
Back in 2006, my brother went to see them in Krakow (if I remember correctly, it was at Wawel Castle). It was the year I moved to UK, literally few months before and I did really regret I couldn't go to this gig back then.
On that evening, my phone rang and this was my brother saying he's after the gig, met the band, got the CDs signed ... and theres someone who wants to talk to me ... then passed on the phone to Ian, which I completelly didn't expect.
I was so shocked that this made me speachless, because what to say if out of the blue you have your favourite drummer ( I used to play drums myself) on the other side of the phone!
After hi, how are you, so glad to talk to you , as I live in Northern Ireland ... I started asking Ian something about Giant's Causeway and Marillion's "Easter" videoclip ... and at that moment I thought to myself what the hell I'm talking about and that I've just burned the conversation ... but he just started having a conversation with me, answering my question ... in a way like ... talking to a friend.
The conversation did last for maybe a couple of minutes but it really was something big for me which I will never forget.
    Thanks Ian!

Ian has such a great feel for drumming, it seems obvious but the drums are the real backbone of band & Ian's taste & honestly his restraint is one of my favorite aspects of the band as a whole. His playing might not "grab" you the way a Phil Collins track may, but he's so respectful of the rest of the band in literally everything he does. A wonderful talent, & from personal experience, a really nice bloke.

Ian you're an absolute gem! Such a brilliant musician - I'd always loved those absurdly powerful fills on your toms and your kit setup, and it never clicked until you mentioned the Billy Cobham influence :) I agree about FEAR - I only bought the album a couple weeks ago but think it's probably the best album I've heard in the last two years, and DEFINITELY one of your best - I think it is my favourite now (just followed by Brave). Funnily enough my plan for today was to watch your fear live at the RAH dvd, I've just popped it in now so catch you guys on the other side :D

Ian mosley drum kit... My saying is now its nearly as big as Ian mosleys drum kit... See marillion are what we call the full package.. Unique and special.. They gel together just right.. Steve hogarth was the right choice.. It made the band complete.. Estonia brilliant Easter brilliant.. Many many hours of this special band.. They are family people good guys.. And staid in control.. Higher thinkers. This is why I love them.. Like family to me when I hear there unique sound as my older brother who passed away now would say.... There's nothing like em... Bless him... Anyway it all means a lot to me like I'm sure thousands of fans.. To.. Holidays in Eden.. Springs to mine brilliant.. Ok guy / people.. Keep smiling the sun has got his hat on.. Many thanks Devon pirate Paul stuck in Jersey Channel Islands 👍

It took me years to get over the change in the singer. Fish had such a powerful sound, and more of an angry tone. Steve H was more soft, and sad sounding. I would listen to some of the newer stuff, thinking well at least the band is Marillion so the instrumental side should be good, but the sound of the band had change and it seemed more like Peter Gabriel than Genesis. Finally I listened to the first album with Steve H and I liked it, so I'm getting back into Marillion in 2021.
