I think those "gears" that you pulled out first, MAY have been the wheels off of the old "tractor sprinklers". The single front wheel fit right over your hose, and the water powered the rear wheels and drove the sprinkler along the path of the hose. They were great for huge yards.

Maybe drop the magnet on one side of the tree, motor the boat to the other side and drag the magnet under the tree? I obviously can’t tell if there’s roots in the water, so just a suggestion...

Man, Tyler, that area is prime bass habitat. You should come back either early evening or morning. Bet you could catch some big ones with some of those lures you have found. Plus, I like the fact that you are so eco-conscience with removing trash bags, plastic, and such that shouldn't be in the water. Even to the point of pushing that large floating log out of the way so no one else may hit it, a good way to damage a boat or an engine.

Also, with those transformers, many municipalities knew how bad for you those chemicals were and were restricted on were they could dispose of the units, so to avoid “red tape”, they would spirit them away and dump them in rivers, off of deep roadside ravines, and old abandoned quarries.
