Hikvision NVRs are mainly compatible with Hikvision cameras. If you have a different brand with Onvif protocol it may not be compatible with hikvision.
Hello, You need to look at two things. 1. You need to check if your recorder is online. You can check it by going to the local menu of your recorder. From Network you can see if your recorder is online or not. 2. If your recorder is online, then you might need to disable your anti virus on your computer for a short time

@@DORISCCTV as long as I know my DVR is online since I know its IP address and can view all the cameras attached from my gadget online.
