@@alicekapolas3210 Really ? When did the apparitions start ? I went in 1986 or 88, have to check my records. I thought it can’t last much longer. 30 years later, still going. For all those apparitions there are only a couple of significant messages. Most are just conventional exhortations to pray and practise virtue and keep the faith.

Medjugorje
I visited Medjugorje about 14 years ago. I was staying in Sarajevo and decided to take a day trip out there with my wife. Although, I am a Catholic, the visit I made back then to Medjugorje, was out of curiosity and intrigue, not a spiritual pilgrimage, as I was aware of the place - being a Catholic but didn’t really know anything about it.
We arrived in the town in the second week of the Easter holidays and the place was fairly busy with pilgrims from all over the world. My wife was training for a half marathon and wanted to get some running practice in. So we agreed to go our separate ways for a couple of hours. I decided I would take a hike up to the apparition site on top of a local mountain. After all, I’d always felt closer to God on mountain tops and in nature, than I ever did in churches. Gazing out towards the trail leading up to the apparition mountain a couple of miles out of town , I could see organised groups of pilgrims making their way up and down the mountain.
I must point out two things before I progress my story further; firstly at that time I was a lapsed Catholic and secondly I had already been on an organised pilgrimage to Lourdes in France, a decade earlier. An excursion I later regretted, as I didn’t find it spiritual at all - in fact, I likened it to a Catholic Disney Land, very gaudy and very cheap and what I felt to be, very fake.
Starting my trek, I cautiously paced myself so that I wouldn’t end up joining any of the happy-clappy, hymn-singing, groups of pilgrims, either ascending or descending the mountain trail. My caution payed off and with great timing, I ended up at the top of apparition mountain alone and joined now by only a handful of quietly praying individual pilgrims. I sat near the statue of Our Lady ( the alleged apparition site) on some brown rugged rocks. The afternoon sun shone brightly in the clear blue sky and I could see the beautiful snow capped Bosnian Alps in the distance the location for the 1984 Winter Olympics and the setting of Torville & Dean’s gold medal winning rendition of ‘Bolero’.
It was all very peaceful and calm. Almost blissful.
I began to wonder to myself…”will anything happen? Will she appear? What would I do if she did?…”
Nothing happened.
I sat quietly and thought deeply about the immense beauty of my surroundings and the terrible horrors that had happened there not so long ago, in the war of the early 1990s and the atrocities committed on or near that site, by the local Nazi sympathisers the ‘Ustashi’ during WW2.
I felt at great peace. I reflected and spoke with God. I thanked him for my life and asked for forgiveness for my sins. I sat and enjoyed the silence.
My peace was eventually broken by the sound of another noisy group of rowdy Irish pilgrims approaching, this time singing ‘Immaculate Mary’. I took my cue and again gingerly descended the mountain, pacing myself - so as not to become ensconced with a well meaning but embarrassing group of happy-clappies. Again my timing was impeccable. I nodded, smiled and greeted the groups going up and made sure I didn’t catch up with the smiley singing lot just in front. As I descended alone on the track, I suddenly could smell a wonderful smell. It was floral and sweet. I stopped and breathed it in, allowing the wonderful sweet aroma fill my nostrils. I thought, this is a beautiful perfume. It’s gorgeous! Where’s it coming from? I’d engineered it so nobody was near! So where was it coming from I asked myself. I looked around at the adjacent fields hoping to spy some vivid wild flowers or colourful blossom to hold account for the wonderful aroma , but could find none. All I observed were fields of grape vines next to where I was stood, some wheat and corn fields in the distance and some empty ploughed fields. No amazing flowers or beautiful blossom. I shrugged my shoulders and carried on back to town at a quickened pace a as group of ‘holy Joe’s’ were hot on my tail. When I arrived back in town I still had a few minutes before my agreed rendezvous with my wife so I decided to have a browse in a local bookstore. I bought a paperback entitled
‘The Story of Medjugorje’.
Many months later and at home, I read the book. The story of the children, the first apparitions and the messages given by Our Lady in Tito’s early communist 1980s Yugoslavia. It was then I read that many visitors and Pilgrims not only witness visual apparitions but Our Lady often made her presence known by emitting a powerful, wonderful and beautiful aroma of sweet roses and flowers. I was gobsmacked.
This is what had happened to me. I found the whole experience all the more sublime, as I wasn’t actually there for all the ‘religious’ reasons.
I believe now that the experience marked the beginning of journey back to my faith from being a lapsed Catholic, today describing myself as a committed Catholic and full of faith. The trials of life in the years since, have only strengthened my faith and resolve and have brought me even closer to God and for that I am truly thankful.

These messages are HUGE and most pass them off as mundane! She said we must pray to comprehend the profoundness of the messages. Glad this is being somewhat discussed here.

I was in Medjugorje in May this year, loved it. I experienced alot of peace, love, joy and closeness to Jesus and Mary. After outdoor Mass and adoration of Jesus on the cross, we all got up to leave and an older lady was on the ground screaming and shouting " get away from me ", the sounds she was making were very demonic so she must have been posessed and due to the amount prayer, adoration and especially the presence of Jesus and Mary, there was a battle going on within her. I was terrified and my heart was racing during that and for a while after it. It was a real shame for her, I hope she got deliverance. Everyone surrounded her and knelt down and prayed until it passed then started cheering but my friend who took me there, a monk said that she would need a proper exorcism from an exorcist and the demon had probably just went back into hiding. My friend, the monk had his conversion several years ago in Medjugorje and then went into a monastery, so there is undoubtedly lots of fruits which are produced there.
Anyway, (sorry for long message, I just wanted to say my bit about Medjugorje 😊) through praying the Rosary I think Mary led me to The Divine Will, then I went to Italy last year and was made an Oblate of The Divine Will. We have to ask for help. Knowing we can't do it by ourselves and the importance of the topic of love. Even though we have been taught to be independent we must be dependent on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And we must use the gift of the Holy Spirit. And to get that gift we have to ask for it. Once you ask, this is Knocking on the door and it will be opened. And once we ask we are allowing the Holy Spirit to fill us and we are ready to take it all in. Plain and simple, it's a process or a formula. Then your thoughts are one with the Lord and He wants you there. He wants us to have both feet in. It's called the Holy Commitment.

Ivan was in the US when the novena started. He’s in Boston until the end of June. He goes to Medjugorje in the summer. So the novena was still going when he left US to Medjugorje.

The novena was a witness to the fact this is not from the evil one - that many people United in prayer throughout the world praying the novena - really ? if that does not prove to them this was from Mary and not the evil one nothing will.

Mark I heard you on another show. I too am excited about the signs and wonders, the illumination of conscience, 3 days etc. why are others afraid? I live in the Los Angeles California area. I have already decided that the first n. Bombs will hit here. My response is calm. I know I’m going to die someday. I think these fearful people have not yet confronted their own mortality; Jesus I trust in you. Ps hope to see you under the reign of her immaculate heart; otherwise I’ll be another pile of ashes in a once great city.

We have to fear God, and offer even our fear to God, to take it out of the hands of the devil.

Can someone please clarify if it is true that in one of the visions, the Blessed Mother apparently stated that Jesus was happy with other religions such as Islam?
Jesus being the way and the only way, then other religions do not lead God's children to the good shepherd. Our Lord and Mother have saved people from other religions in great times of need. Our Mother had said, "No, I am not Mariam, I am Mary, Mother of Jesus of Nazareth" to make clear her guidance to her Son.
That is NOT true. It is a misquote and a lie that is perpetuated. The children asked “are all religions the same?” To which Mary said:
“*Members* of all faiths are equal before God. God rules over each faith just like a sovereign over his kingdom. In the world, all religions are NOT the same because all people have not complied with the commandments of God. They reject and disparage them."
So Mary was saying that God loves ALL his children no matter their religion. She also said that all religions are NOT equal, because so many reject His commandments. Despite that, God still rules over every religion because He is the ruler of the entire universe: Even the devil is subject to Gods power. Every atom in creation is under Gods rule. This is a simple fact no one can deny. God is the ruler of all, even the things that rebel against Him.

I think Our Lady was trying to say that each person, each soul, is equally loved by God, and that God understands people are not in control of what religion they are born into. God has His own way of guiding and judging those who are in different faiths, or those who have never been exposed to any religion at all. God reins supreme over every single thing on earth. Good bad and in between. This is exactly congruent with what the Catechism of the Catholic Church says. That being said, To those who have been given much, much is required in return. This applies to Christians and moreso to Catholics than any other group. We have been given the direct path, the truth, we must respond to that gift.

You don’t have to go to Medicare to have your rosaries turn to go. It’s when you do the rosary you get signal graces. I get them all the time I have read on the crown. I have gold. Not everyone can go there you know everyone knows that. People who have been there were just sharing their experiences and conversions. Isn’t that how the Church started?… sharing faith, experience with God and converting??
I appreciate the message to call on the Holy Ghost, but I caution anyone to endure in babbling because that's not the gift of tongues we see in the Bible. The gift of tongues was preaching the good news so all could understand and the possessed by demons babbled in languages unknown. Pray for demons to flee. Don't invite them in.
