We were all so self-congratulatory making fun of the showrunners "thinking they were fooling anyone" about Teen's identity.
Turns out, the twist wasn't the WHO or WHAT, it was the WHEN and HOW.
Well played Ms. Schaeffer, well played.
Now I'll just wait for the reveal that Agatha's powers are there because her dad is Mephisto!
Teen and Alice are actually the youngest members of the "coven". Makes sense they bonded easier.
Sasheer is 5 years younger than Ali, so that doesn't track. A friendship like Teen and Alice had knows no age.
@@Jumbaride irl yes, but canonically in the show alice and teen are the "youngest". Like alice is definitely an adult and not a teen, but she's still "natural" aged and so more grounded / relatable. Agatha, Jen, and Lilia have been alive for centuries
@@Jumbaridethey mean that they are the only 2 that arent hundreds of years old
@@robbyten100Thank you for explaining that, Robby.🩵 I still think the broader message here is that Alice possessed the ideals that Teen values most. But it makes sense that we're more idealistic at 16 and 45 than 465.
Teen isnt part of the coven. He wasnt on the list written by Lilia in episode 2 and he wasnt allowed to participate in the road opening ritual. He is just Agathas plus one.
The theory that this could be Teen’s trial would make sense since the aspect ratio didn’t change this time. I guess that will be confirmed for the next trial. Thanks for helping put that together.
Thanks for watching and subscribing!! I would love to find out the truth in the next episode, but I guess we'll have to wait and see...
Also notice Alice was the only one who helped with the "man's work" of digging Sharon's grave. Jen and Lilia weren't trying to ditch him like Agatha, but they also didn't offer to helpz and later got flung into the dirt.
Sorry, man work are we in 1900?
@@andrewpearson3516Yeah I don’t think it’s “man’s work” so much as it was physical labor and the other witches saw themselves as above it. Vs Alice, who both has never really had magic to rely on and also is a lot younger than the other witches therefore probably more affected by Sharon’s death.
So less “man’s work” and more “regular human work.”
@@andrewpearson3516I’m sorry has biology changed since 1900s? How many female construction workers and roofers do you see? Could this be because physically laborious jobs like digging a hole is something more for men to do or naw?
@@andrewpearson3516 Patiarchy is omnipresent and pernicious. Like The Meaning of Chirstmas, it's corruped by myth and heresay, but lies within all of us nontheless.
Alice is the only one who seems to have concern for others more than herself. Lilia and Jen are both in it for power like Agatha and Billy. I hope your third theory is correct, that this mostly isn’t real due to the spell they flew threw. We shall see Wednesday!
I like your thoughts and I want to add that Alice is a protection Witch
I dont think Billy is in it for power. I think he hid his powers from himself with the sigil, and he's trying to resurrect his family
@@richardmaloneriki1811 I’m not saying anyone is wrong. I love this spew of theories! Appreciate it, thank you!
@@RavenPhoenix-hm3bm thank you! Just love the series so far!
The path of least resistance. I think Billy's soul went into the closest available body. Teen should of died 3 years ago. But Billy's soul found his body.
The car accident they keep referencing had 2 bodies in it according to Agatha. Wiccan reincarnated into Billy Caplan's body during the accident and the other will later be revealed to be the reincarnation of Tommy Maximoff. The new Vision series will be about Wiccan and Vision looking for Tommy to try and put their family back together. Marvel is going to make Mephisto Agatha's father to clean up the messy storyline from the comics which is why her mother tells her she was born evil. This would make Nicolas Scratch Mephisto's grandchild whom he claimed for his own but gavce Agatha the Darkhold as 'compensation' to fill her lust for power.
I think Agatha can control it. I think she genuinely feels bad but she is an addict for magic and hasn't had a hit in years. You almost see her smirk once her mother's spirit leaves her body and she begins absorbing Alice's powers. She smirks again when using said powers after they break free of the trial before they poof out and she's confronted by Teen. Teen is definitely Wiccan/Billy Kaplan. Teen was angry and disgusted by how the coven reacted to Alice's death and rejected the entire coven I think.
Also I just rewatched, she only stops absorbing Alice when she hears Teen scream Nicholas Scratch's name and she turns around. She definitely controls it.
@@zlatkajupeIt could be that that her trauma around killing her son is the only thing that’s powerful enough (thus far) to break her out of it though. Meaning this may be the first time she’s even been able to stop it, and she could only stop it after being reminded of something she was so deeply regretful of.
@@JordanSedaiYes and this is how Agatha passed the trial by facing that trauma. Agatha has consistently said for 400 years now that she can’t control it and her own mother said she was born evil and that’s what she likely meant by it.
I don’t think Billy yet knows fully that he is Wanda’s son in another Billy body or that he has a twin brother. The soul swap definitely happened three years ago in the car crash, but I think he’s rather in dark as far as the extent of his magic abilities and as to his true family
This could definitely be a possibility! I can see him definitely not knowing he has a twin because he didn't even know he had a twin in the comics. For that matter, he didn't know that Wanda was his mom either...
It hasn't been confirmed that the car crash was three years ago though, was it? I mean Teen says a lot happened to him at 13, and the "near death" headline in the credits, but I don't think this is confirmation unless I missed it somewhere? Agatha talks about the crash in episode 1 like it happened recently
@@cougarcoves Sure, but she has no idea what happened “recently” while she was in Wanda’s spell. She was shocked to hear it had been so long from Herb once she was free of it
@@MusclesAndTheMultiverse Yeah, that’s what I was going off of. When Agatha tells him that he’s like his mother, he doesn’t really know what that means. For all he knows, his mom and dad are Eastview suburbanites who love their sousvide
I speculate Billy's running away from his parents and boyfriend because he's afraid of being institutionalized. One preview scene shows him and Agatha in what look like Hospital gowns in a steel room with sparks.
Amazing ❤
Hey!! Thanks so much for the feedback. I really appreciate you watching and leaving feedback 💯
@@MusclesAndTheMultiverse you are so welcome, keep up the amazing work 🥰
Agatha is way more impulsive than she likes to admit. She literally monolgued to Wanda about runes and gave away a weakness just to dunk on someone less expirienced. She switches her tone so rapidly because she'd rather be the bad guy than admidt she made a mistake. Hahn's definatly giving Anthony Starr as Homelander expressions.
We all knew about Wiccan it makes sense that they revealed it halfway through. Now the mystery is how and why and if he is working with anyone or does he remember his past life.
Liked and subscribed because you're one of the first commentators I've seen who talked about how weird everyone was behaving in the trial. And how Agatha seemed to flip a switch at the end with Katherine Hahn's deliciously creepy line delivery of "Are you sure?" and "You're so much like your mother". If just felt like something was manipulating them and the fact that the aspect ratio never changed really makes me excited for what's to come! I really hope Alice is still alive somehow, or comes back to life.
Lovely video. You just gained a new subscriber. 🙂
i think teen nearly died at 13 which was around ''3 and a half years ago'' like he reads out on the ouji borard box, 4 almost 4 years is when wandavission happened and maybe as the hex fell billys soul went into the closest ''empty'' boy, that being teen, which add up age wise as teen is 16, i think teen has played everyon from the start placing the spell over his mouth himself so the others couldnt find out he was wandas kid., agatha said when a witch places that spell they loose the memory of doing it which also would cover his ass and he wouldnt be lying about not knowing where it came from , at the end of the road you get what you desire and he said he wanted power but hes not at the end of the road and he has power , i think he went down the road to get his mother back and thats been his motivation all along , maybe wandas red light sent out a signal to her kids and shes traped somewhere and billy heard it setting all this in motion
Love it!! Yeah he clearly wants something that is not power. Definitely could be to get his mom back and even Tommy.
Appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave your thoughts 💯
I’m a bit more hesitant on the “she has no control over her power” angle, I think it risks letting her off the hook way too easily, but it’s gonna depend on how they play it if they do decide to go that route. The addiction idea seems like a smart option, but I’d rather it start with her killing her coven rather than her son, and becoming a defense mechanism that for entrenched over time, rather than something innate from birth or the darkhold. But again, it depends on how they play it
Agatha reminds me of someone I loved. They do have real illnesses that need to be treated but they are not willing to do what it takes to be healed. A defence mechanism becomes their main personality trait and they keep saying they didn't mean to cause pain. Their traumas are real but they don't excuse them from the consequences of their actions. I couldn't get past what the one I loved did to me.... it's how I feel about Agatha so far. They behave evil and show no remorse...and then they swear they didn't do anything to hurt you 🤷🏽♂️ hell to the mutha fkin no
In Alice's defense, she only suggested they should humiliate Agatha as a form of punishment. Which... It IS a slumber party. Pretty par for the course. The others were talking about beatings and murder.
Since they were all sleeping maybe this was a dream
Love this take on the episode! I was thinking the same about Agatha and the death of her son - that it was tied to her loss of control. She has so many parallels with Wanda; lost her child, will do anything to get him back, hurt a lot of people in the process. I agree that Billy doesn’t know who he is yet, and like his mother, cannot control his magic when he is heart broken. I still wonder if he is the one unknowingly controlling the Road trip? I mean, the Wizard of Oz movie which this series takes a lot from, is based on Dorothy’s dream. He even talks about wanting to go home one time.
That could be why teen sent them through the mud to cleans them
The bug lady is Vertigo.
Maybe she altered everyone's emotions?
I’d say she altered them in some way, shape, or form for sure
Hi. Great analysis. As to how Billy And Tommy were created in the MCU, hopefully that story is not as convoluted as in the comics. For me, Chaos and the mind Stone suffice. We will see. Agatha stated that Wanda is capable of spontaneous creation, chaos magic, (in Wandavision.) Everyone assumes that was only within the hex but I suspect that power is real and literal. She can create life out of nothing. It’s still possible that the Demiurge, or some powerful entity is pulling the strings behind the scenes. Perhaps someone told Teen to find Agatha and walk the road. Because of the lyrics, darkest hour wake thy power, I think Teen just came into his power, rather than having concealed it all the time. But only time will tell. I wonder if Wanda or the Demiurge take over when he starts welding his mind control. He might also be so overwhelmed by power that he isn’t completely in control, and this may be how he eventually comes to understand and forgive Agatha. I’m not sure the MCU would deal with the Demiurge aspect to Wiccan this early in his character arc, but they may be teasing it for a payoff way down the road. Whatever the case, we are in for a fun ride! ❤ I keep noticing that cycles of trauma and vengeance keep appearing. I suspect that cycle is what needs to be broken, like the spell Agatha was in when the series began.
The song does say “tricks and trials”, so maybe with the aspect ratio not changing this was actually a trick?
My Theory: This trial didnt have some characteristics, unlike the others. 1st there was no moon phase on the trial's door. 2nd they exited the trial going upwards, instead of downwards (like with the last trials). 3rd no change in aspect ratio. I suggest that Teen is going to re-write reality (as he is able to in the comics) causing them either redo the trial or do the "real" one. It is also possible that the Salem Seven manipulated the trial, trying to trick the coven into leaving Agatha behind allowing them to take their revenge
The phase of the moon was clearly the blood moon phase which was visible from the house, and the aspect ratio didn’t change because it was Agatha trial, the star of the show, so it stayed in the same aspect.
I like your theory about addiction, but I have a different take with regard to Agatha and her mother. It is obvious this show is incredibly LGBT-centered. Teen is gay, Rio and Agatha have a romantic history, Alice and Jen admitted attraction to Rio, and Patti LuPone is a gay icon. When it comes to the dynamics between Agatha and her mother, my impression is that the intended symbolism is also LGBT-related.
I don't think for a second that Agatha is evil or that she intentionally killed Alice. The creator of "Agatha All Along" said Agatha is essentially a drag queen. Therefore, her meanness, self-centeredness, and lack of empathy is largely performative. I think it is the armor she wears, because she has been hurt so much for CENTURIES; even by her own mother.
Agatha's mother hated her from birth over her PERCEPTION of Agatha being evil. Instead of trying to understand her, she would rather kill her; and tried. Rio has been in love with Agatha for a long time and, as much as she claims to want to kill or torture Agatha herself, she stiffened her back and was ready to go toe to toe with Agatha's mom. Rio tried explaining to the coven multiple times how abusive Agatha's mother was to her. This storyline is tragically emblematic of the LGBT experience for many kids; being hated by a parent for something you can't control.
Well it can be both.
@@ozymondiasthehub5925The struggles of addiction and lack of empathy and understanding for addicts would be better illustrated by the current dynamics between Agatha and Teen (and Agatha and the coven). The reason I think my explanation is better suited for the dynamics between Agatha and her mom is because her mom specifically stated that Agatha was evil from birth and that she should have killed her as soon as Agatha left her body. If you want to break this down to the ridiculous, LGBT tendencies are often spotted by parents at younger ages than those with addiction issues.
Parents of addicts generally respond in a much more supportive manner than anti-LGBT parents of LGBT kids. In fact, many parents will nearly kill themselves trying to save their kids from addiction. The opposite is true of anti-LGBT parents of LGBT kids.
Queer kids are still denied love and nurturing and labeled as evil. So I can certainly see the parallels. They have also been characterized as predatory. (More in the case of men.) Agatha’s power is very vampire like, sucking the life out of their victims. Much as her written about the queer undertones of vampire legends.
Please don’t, this show is not LGBT centered just because it has gay characters. And yes you can make the parallel there about being born gay it doesn’t really have anything to do with the actual in story reason for her mother saying that is because she was born with power absorption abilities that she can’t control.
@@Byronic19134 do you have a problem with it being queer centered? Because it is, you might as well just accept it and look at your biases.
I think she can’t control starting to steal someone’s powers, but I think should could learn to stop (like she did when she heard Nicholas) but probably doesn’t want to since the power feels so good in the moment. She probably regrets what she did later, though.
6:22 that would be such a good backstory for Agatha character
She can't control it. She had to put up walls, and she hid the good part of herself, so she was never hurt again.
No, I think she can. She's just been starved of magic for so long her first hit triggered some sort of addiction she must have had. She's like a mana addict.
We see she can stop anytime she wants when Teen mentioned Nicholas Scratch's name.
EVERY TRIAL is Teen's trial.
He wanted to walk the road. He found and initiated every trial. He solved everyvtrisl...with another witch's help.
His blood and stirring made the potion.
His blood and guitar playing heoped break the curse.
He went back to the Ouija to find the name and move the planchette to BYE.
It's all about him.
Oh, and he was supposed to be the green witch. Green sweater covered in mystic symbols. Black heart earring in left ear...stand in for the name covered by the Sigil Spell.
I noticed that everyone except maybe Teen was willing to leave Alice’s dead body in the house. With Samantha they took the time to bury her. (And where did the shovels come from?!)
Another thing I noticed is that there are 2 types of terrain - (1) solid & (2) quicksand. Now I’m wondering: was Samantha buried “on the road”? And why didn’t they just use the quick & easy way of burying Samantha and Alice, by letting their bodies sink into the quicksand that’s “off of the road”?
Why did just yelling “Nicholas Scratch” open the escape hatch like magic words (“ab-bra-ka-dab-bra” or “open sesame”)?! I didn’t think anything got accomplished in this trial, so my theory is that they are still in the trial.
BYE on the Ouija opened the door.
@tomp8215 ACTUALLY, the escape door opened BEFORE Teen moved the planchette to the word "Goodbye"!
Interesting theories but I don't believe for a second that Agatha couldn't control her powers when she killed her coven maybe. but she had her powers for a long time to master her powers and when Wanda created billy and Tommy they weren't real so I don't think they had souls to be reincarnated but I'm sure we'll learn how it happened soon enough
I do think Agatha's powers are difficult to control and I appreciate the additional parallels. However, I wouldn't be able to trust Agatha. She still doesn't show remorse for killing so many people due to her addiction. She killed Jen and even if she couldn't control her powers, why wasn't she more conflicted about it? Especially considering everything that happened during Alice's trial and how they seemingly bonded as a coven.
❤😢
another one of those disney things where they give people what they want without giving them what they want. this will turn out to be part of the trial and it's just manifesting agatha's fears and that's not actually him.
I hope Alice is brought back to life. She just best her family’s evil spirits and then dies???
The only person she warned about how her power works was Lila. I think she can control it too a good extent but only had remorse for the ones she actually cares about to a point. But that doesn’t mean she’ll stop once it starts. I mean she reached out her hands to draw Alice power in.
When i saw the power absorption scene i immediately thought of Rob's(from Comics Explained) views of the overall two kinds of powers. They're powers that are activated manually and then they'res powers that activate themselves at right time... like Protege!
And I gotta say dude... Great video! You got a new subscriber in me.
