In Europe we have many Fendts. They actually are less fuel efficient than the JDs. I cannot talk about the 9R in comparison to the big tracked Fendt.
But the 8Rs are better on fuel than the 900s and 1000s Fendt Vario🙏

Is the 1167 too heavy for your tilt deck trailer? I suppose if you don’t use the heck out of it then it won’t depreciate much. It’s more hour based then age with a new unit like that. Still a lot of overhead on a tractor only seeding a few weeks a year.

Have you ever though about getting yourself a helicopter or aircraft to fly back and fort. Looking at the associated cost and your worth in terms of time and health, you should analyse how much time you are spending in between both in travel. There is a large cashflow outlay however the time you will have to work on both farms and time with your family will be more valuable.

Its one thing to be climbing up the back of the cart, not very dangerous there, but the other things you do I think are pretty irresponsible, first you have a young son, why take chance with that, second why give the operator something more he has to be concerned with, if you were to trip while running in front of the tractor, and he was looking back, you would die! and he would have that on his conscious for the rest of his life. Although your wife suddenly being available probably would make another guy happy in the future., why help another guy to be happy?
