I have a .22" Air Arms S400 which I fitted with the official Air Arms moderator from day one. Although very accurate, about 1 shot in 20 was a noticeable flyer (with every type of pellet I tried). After years of irritation over this, I replaced the moderator with a Rowan Engineering air stripper. Much louder of course but not only have the flyers vanished but my groups have tightened too. As ever, your mileage may vary. 😀
Nice video. If these air strippers are adjustable you should make sure they all are at the same gap distance from the barrel. Most likey use the Reximex gap for example as it was the most accurate. Just a thought for another video.
What I think about all this? I think I agree with your findings, in my nowhere near humble opinion air strippers _do_ work. However, as the improvised range we usually do target shooting at is a semi-enclosed space with a lot of steel and concrete surfaces surrounding it, both my shooting buddy and I usually opt for more noise reducing additions to our guns. Hmm, but I recently got a new toy for short to medium range ratting, so it isn't too noisy to begin with although I'm in no way impressed with the integral silencer, perhaps it'd be interesting to see what a stripper does for my accuracy - silenced I can make a headshot on a rat from 20m, but I'm not confident I can make a guaranteed brain shot with _that_ gun/optics combo.
I purchased one of the Barrel shrouds/air stripper from Wes. One of these looks identical to the one I purchased from him but it hasn't arrived yet because the gun is still on backorder. Have you tried any of these on your PP750? If so have you noticed any difference or is it just for Style
I haven't tried any air strippers on my pp750 yet, I plan on it, but I just haven't had the time. That being said, so far my conclusion is that air strippers can improve accuracy, but that it may not be as simple as just slapping any stripper on any gun and calling it a day. Once I do test them on the pp750 I'll be sure to report back with what combination or stripper/ pellets gave me the best results. Sorry I don't have a better answer right now :)
You are doing fine with your testing good to see someone analysing and working for a solution you will go far . ( once you find the best stripper for the rifle ) then go to testing that one again and adjust the stripper core in increments of about 3mm at a time . inward and outward from the neutral position. You may have to move it 3 or 4 times but you will get there. find the best then fine tune in-between the 3mm increment worked best . It's a good foundation in analysing and you will feel very proud of what you have achieved you are almost there. You may even have succeeded by the time you read this.
I use a 6.01mm airsoft extension on my 22 cal nemesis. It's more of an afterburner effect where I recycle the muzzle bark. But the overall result is a better directed pellet all the same.
@francisdaoust4987 it's an "angel custom" mock silencer. It screws on as a 6mm bore 4-inch long barrel extension on regular airsoft. I adapted the 14mm counter clock threads to 1/2 unf for airguns. The 5.55 mm 22 pellets float through without losing rifling spin. The accuracy improves by keeping the pellet straight on a cushion of air for longer. And the fps improves because the compression is still tight enough for acceleration. I also made a 14-inch extension myself from parts using the same principle. The results are even better. 150 fps bump on some pellets.
I own 7 HW springers and i shoot max. one centimeter groups with all of them on 25 meters. No PCP, air strippers or moderators needed. It happens sometimes that i shoot a 1,5 cm, group and than that's because of the wind or i use iron sights. Shooting skills you learn with a quality springer air rifle......Cheers!
I understand fully... I have a rear bag and have personally not found it helpful when it comes to limiting my pulled shots. I'm looking into options for a gun vice that'll keep things steadier for me :)
This might ot might not be related to a change of harmonics or the difference in weight who knows I also think they just look noice haha Ive made a simmilar experiment in the basement with the 2240 muzzle brake not too long ago but it did seem to help a bit
There have been lots of experiments done in firearms that show air turbulence being stripped away by these devices... whether or not it works in my application was the question. Even from this small sample I've come to the conclusion they they can work, but the degree at which is likely pretty varied depending on several factors. Worth exploring if you require precision I think.
I thought that too at first but now I'm convinced they can have a positive effect... the problem is finding the right gun/stripper/ pellet combination to get that positive effect... it's probably more expensive and time consuming than is justifiable to most people.
@@matty5547 It sounds like you've had a bad experience with them, unfortunatelythat can happen with any brand... other than the tormenta leaking where the rear bottle meets to the breach I've had nothing but stellar experiences so far :)

The adjustment of the inner cone is critical in tuning the accuracy for each barrel, gun and pellet. Even 1mm can make all the difference.

@@BC_BALLISTICS Thanks
In my sub 12 I used one for many years and it defo made a difference. Helped me win a bunch of championships for sure

Can you explain more about it? What does it improve and what is aisoft extension? Is it a longer barrel?

Can you tell me the brand and model of the products you use?
Everything is named in the video... can you be more specific?

Love the video concept but until you get a rear bag or substitute for your arched hand, you will continue to have pulled shots

you need to invest in an eaglevision airstripper set so you can use the correct calibre or their barrel tuner both are brilliant
Do they help with noise?
@@grabir01 no, not at all. Unfortunately
😉👍 nice video
thank you!
All best for You from Poland ;)
thank you, same to you!
