Haven't got any experience with anything else then the FX pocket radar, but I've heard a lot of people complaning about the type you use. The top one complaint had to do with light. Haven't got a clue about what goes wrong, but it seems that in some circumstances sunlight blocks out the reading. Maybe you could try puting some cardboard over it? Or put it somewhere in the shade? BTW, loved the strawberries 😉
@@fliesarenegade I tried different lighting locations, and in every spot the 22 worked but 177 and 25 didn't lol it's the strangest thing... I'm going to try cardboard, but I don't have high hopes
I have the same chrono and the same frustration! Idk, don’t have a perfect fix but in some instances taking the sunshades off helps, other times throwing a big piece of cardboard on top of the sunshades helps. 🤷♂️
The only thing I can think of for the chrony is that it may not be level, I’ve had to do a lot of tripod playing to get mine level, I use clear tape and small level from home hardware to help me, that’s all I can think might be off
A very useful video would be ammo selection for these sub 500FPS. In .177 there a few really good lead free pellets, and many different .177 pellet options. I’ve been on the fence about buying a sub 500 .22 , because of the lack ammo selection vs .177 Like what is the sweet spot pellet weight? With in the 10-30. It’s a really important and interesting factor.
@@cpuminerz that's a great idea, unfortunately it's completely different for every gun, I have some sub 500 guns that absolutely love heavy 177, 22 or 25 and some that only like light stuff. Some only like 1 pellet and some guns seem to like them all. I do plan on doing more sub 500 fps specific content like pellet testing in the future, however it will mostly be model specific. Some pellets like H&N's Field Target Trophy and JSB Exact are widely liked by different guns... but even then you occasionally find a gun that doesn't like them... sorry I can't offer more helpful advice on this subject.
I appreciate your input, I’m thinking about buying the Throne Gen2 from CCS or the Shadow both .22 sub 500. Yours is the first video I’ve found regarding “detune”. Have you any experience with the Kral shadow? The shadow CCS has in stock currently comes with the carbon bottle. (Which makes the price same as throne). The shadow with aluminum bottle isn’t available (significantly cheaper). Is the Throne an easy choice over the shadow? Anyone’s advice would be appreciated.
@@cpuminerz that's a tough question as i don't have any experience with the Shadow. however, i do have 4 different Kral guns (puncher one, np-01, np-03, puncher pro 500) and i like each of them, they're well made for the price, accurate, and have given me very few issues. i also have 4 different Reximex guns (throne, daystar, tormenta, rpa) and the one thing i can say for sure is that in every case the Reximex "fit and finish" is always a little bit better than the Kral guns. Personally i would take the Throne over the Shadow for the simple reasons of the higher quality I've come to expect from Reximex and the fact that there are not many bullpups available in Canada and its fun to have something a little different, lol even if it is a pretty direct copy of an FX Impact. that being said, the Shadow looks like a great gun too and i bet you'd be happy with either choice. one other thing is that with the carbon bottle inflating the price on the Shadow, you realistically get more gun for your money with the throne... even though the carbon bottle is a nice touch, it would be nicer to have the choice. sorry i cant give a more definitive answer :/ if you have any questions about my Throne feel free to ask, i haven't had time to do more through pellet testing with it yet though, hopefully sometime in the next couple weeks :)
@@BC_BALLISTICS thank you. Very helpful. Interesting that your Krals gave issues, the few others I’ve spoke to had issues with Kral. I believe you did mention in your video the “action” was good, does it feel smooth the lever? Pushing the bolt forward? Or clunky and awkward. I know it’s not a high end rifle, but for its price point is the Throne where it should be? Lastly, knowing what you know about the Throne. if you could choose again what calibre would you prefer? .177 or .22
@@cpuminerz unfortunately, all pcps will give you problems eventually, it's just the nature of things. The issues I've had with the krals were very minor and easy to fix(one had a very slow leak and one had a trigger reset issue that i think i caused myself lol)... but ya, lower cost definitely = lower fit and finish quality and higher likelihood of minor issues. That being said, the fit and finish on the Reximex guns is very nice, and I believe that the throne is priced appropriately for what you get, even more so, i think its pretty good value. The action is smooth, but due to the bullpup linkages it's obviously not the smoothest out there, it still feels good though. I have no real complaints so far about the Throne. If I had to reorder the throne again I'd get the 22 again, i like it.. that being said, I am actually thinking about getting a second throne in .25 because I have a soft spot for sub 500fps .25 cal guns... time will tell on that though, as I have quite a few guns right now that haven't been given proper attention, so I should dial those in first probably :)
Thank you.
Your videos inspired me to try air rifles.
that means a lot! i hope you enjoy them :)
