My top is the Brunswick Quantum Evo Response🥳 This ball has been such a game changer, it’s been super versatile for me and has been amazing for my game!
I think radical has been killing it lately. Ive historically been a storm bowler but that may have changed. Radical has really surprised me with how much better their balls seem to roll/last
Happy and surprised to see the GB4 on the list. I bought one 6 months ago and still have people in league asking me what it is. The proshop recommened it as a complement to my main ball, the GB2. I really enjoy both of them.
Love my GB4 Hybrid for mostly the reasons you stated. Feel like I can throw it just about anywhere on the lane, and trust it. Can't think of another ball from ANY brand that would replace it.
I have the 2.0 and could not be happier. I changed nothing out of the box. I did need to teach myself to read the lanes, as the oil volume drops from the lanes getting burned in you really need to be on top of it, or all of a sudden it just won't hook and will run straight. That is a player problem and not a ball problem. I can also run it up the middle to stay in the oil and it will hold a nice shape, almost like a symmetrical. I am not a high rev or high speed bowler so it is nice to know I can control it late in the games.
Got the Widow 2.0, Nu Blue, and Envy Tour. Along with Brutal Collision (which came out on 12/22). All have been great fits for me. I'm a convert from SPI and loving the new B7 gear!
Katana Assault and Strike hav been a staples for me working on a variety of conditions. Avg raised this year from 160 to 185 so very pleased. Really enjoy the podcast from you and Phil @brusnick. One day im getting that wheel spin to stop on the Grand Prize with my name called, BELIEVE IT !!
Brunswick quantum evo response, house shot killer, looks amazing on sport shots when you need something to make it back from deep angles, responds very well to hand position changes, and does good with surface or shiny im soo shocked that didn’t make the list and I literally take it to any tournament whether house or sport shot
DV8 Verge Hybrid. Inciter based coverstocks are so smooth on the medium length (40'-43') regular 9:1 ratio league shots & challenging 5:1 ratio tourney patterns. The core does not over react to the friction. Making a move is very predictable, when needed; but large moves are not normally necessary, as the cover does not tear up the track.
I'm very surprised the radical hitter did not make this list, it has been awesome in my bag and I thought you had loved that ball as well. I am just curious if it wound up being that or the Outer and just wanted to call out that awesome radical program they have over there.
I’ve only had 4 that were released in 2023, so I’ll order the 4 I have. 1. NU Blue Hammer - the ball that replaced my Purple Hammer after just 4 games, and I’ve used it exclusively for the past week I’ve had it. 2. Brunswick Teal Rhino Pro - got this after a demo and fell in love with it, used it a few weeks ago getting my first 300 of the 2023-24 season. 3. Hammer Black Widow 2.0 Hybrid - this doesn’t come out much, but it’s fantastic for when I have to get right and keep it tight to the head pin. 4. Hammer Axe (Purple/Smoke) - I drilled this with side weight and put it at 1000 grit. It’s a fantastic ball for dryer shots or the club houses.
I actually chose a DV8 Chill over the Trouble Maker. Based off your review, the Chill never missed pocket and carried every shot. I almost went with a GB4 until I saw the Chill review.
This was special. Love your pics and why. Cool reading peoples opinions. I can't argue with any of your choices but I would have liked to see Radical's Rattler and Hammer's Envy Tour Pearl in the house shot killers list. Thanks Nick very cool.
I really like the Emerge. Seems like a fairly ignored ball that is really good. Very good bigger pearl. Bigger specs, but still seems very usable on a house shot
Great list! Highly considered all on that list (especially the Trouble Maker 😈). I bought 2 2023 balls this year and ordered both either pre-order or right at release and they were your top 2 😁 I haven’t had a chance to throw the NU and I can’t wait!
Great video having my first hammer raw solid drilled this week as close to my pap as possible. I want it to be my first ball on synthetic lanes I think or maybe have it drilled as third ball on wooden lanes not sure which way to go yet. Pso is storm all the way but hopefully he will help with the drilling on this ball
I drilled 6 out of 10 balls from your list; BW 2.0 Hybrid, NU Blue, purple Hammer (The Goat 🐐 - still legal),Teal Rhino Pro, Outer Limits and Envy Tour. My favourite two balls are Hammer Purple Pearl Urethane and Hammer Black Widow 2.0 Hybrid. Thank you for this informative video 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻🌹
I would have to include The Hitter and the Bigfoot Hybrid to go with the Outer Limits. The three have been in my bag since each came out and currently are my arsenal.
I got the NU blue BW 2.0 and envy tour pearl and my favorite is actually the envy tour pearl. The black widow is a great ball but I match up better with the envy tour pearl
I call the Envy Tour (solid) my GOAT ball. Started bowling again last year after a four year hiatus since joining the military, and I’ve shot multiple 700s and a 299 game with that ball.
@b.r.fowler785 I'm thinking about getting that one right now. At the house I bowl at, has one there on the re-drill rack. The pearl is nasty for me. I get a lot of back end with a smooth glide through the front. I shot a 700 with it the first week I had it. My benchmark is the obsession tour solid, I think the envy tour could round off my arsenal
@b.r.fowler785 yep I got the light Grey one it took a week. make sure u keep your box and receipt to order it. I just got the NU Friday I have only thrown 2 games with it but I like it so far. I'm gonna throw it at league tomorrow.
Didn’t get a lot of hype when released, but the Ebonite Fireball has been my go to ball on league nights. I’m a high rev, high speed, down & in type of player (220 avg). I start the night playing out and as the lanes break down I just move into the oil line and this ball delivers.
I just ordered up a Track Kinetic Cobalt. Your review on it was awesome and so were a few other reviews. I wanted a mild assym to fill a gap in my bag. I am hoping with the .006 intermediate differential it will do just that. First Track ball I have bought in a long long time.
3d offset attack should be in there. It was a great drier lane ball that was really versatile for different lines and different styles. I would also add the deadly rattler to the list.
My top ball of the year has been the DV8 Captiv8... I'm a Medium Speed Cranker and our League is on the light side... Historically I'm a low 180s Bowler... My first season with the Captiv8, I finished 18 weeks with a 204 average... First time I've held over 200 for a full season... Had hold on misses in and boom on misses out... It's a phenomenal ball, can not recommend it enough to High Rev Players for League... It also looks awesome
I am a tweener and use Captiv8 as my light-dry ball weak ball in my bag. By no means is it weak, as you mentioned has hold and allows miss room to the right. Choose this over Crypto Boom, Rattler, and Phaze V. Definitely the sleeper of 23..get one if you have a chance.
Great list, was just going back over it. I have a quick questions. I have a love the Envy tour, using a ton. I also have the Rhino Pro and depending on the house, an amazing ball. I 'struggle iwth using them together. Do yiu see them in teh same bag and any suggestions?
Hey Nick, thanks for the great info. What about the Motiv Venom Shock or Coral? Are they all rounders? I just got back into bowling after a 16 year hiatus. My workhorse is a Columbia 300 Wicked, I love that ball, but starting to crack and want to get a similar new ball. I've been looking into the Extreme Envy from Hammer or the Motiv Venom Shock. Any insight is welcome even if it means a different brand. Just looking for an all rounder instead of an arsenal. Thanks again!
Only ball I have on this list is the 2.0 hybrid. And the only ball I have in my bag to compare it to is my venom shock. I can't say which one I like more. They both are damn amazing balls and worth every bit of love and hype they have been getting
Completely agree with putting the 2.0 Hybrid as number one. The carry I get with it is insane. No matter how far left I get, it finds its way to the pocket with ease and has excellent continuation. I have higher ball speed and I never have to worry if it's going to pick up and get going or not. Also it's very responsive to hand positions if I need to play straighter. Ball is just way too good and I'll definitely be getting another one. GB4 Hybrid would be a close second.
As someone who has been using the 14lb Brunswick Slingshot for around a decade, and looking for a new ball, what would be a healthy recommendation for a 12lb choice? Thanks! Great video!
I am a very big fan of the Radical Innovator and ready to get my 3rd in just under a year: a 14 lb pearl, drilled in-between conventional and fingertip; a 15 pound solid drilled fingertip and getting a 15 pound pearl to match that solid. I am a beginner bowler at age 40--only been taking it seriously for about a year.
Any chance of a video on the Black Widow 2.0 Pearl? It's an overseas update to the BW 2.0 Ghost, with HK-22 (and slightly duller out of box). Was really excited about the BW 2.0 Hybrid, but as a rev dominate bowler at beginner/intermediate level, it always seems to flip a bit too early for me. Hoping the new Pearl is a better fit for me.
I'm surprised the Track Stealth Pearl or Solid did not make the top 10 list. I have the Pearl version and I love it. I might have to go back to my Outer Limits again. For me that ball is very temperamental.
I've only owned my NU Blue Hammer for about a week and I didnt really care for it for the longest time. I'm also predominantly Storm. However, my mom insisted that i need another option for shorter patterns and i was impressed with the NU Blue. It also solces several gripes I have with urethane, especially that first shot going haywire and often not giving enough torque.
My outer limits is the best $10 I ever spent (won it in a raffle) I’d say the extreme envy is an honorable mention, turned out far cleaner and far more versatile than I expected
Looks like the Teal rhino may be a good choice for me. Old wood lanes , only throw about 13 mph , most balls I throw overhook . Any other balls for a worn out bowler bowling on worn out lanes?
Katana legend was the nest ball i ever had. Someone stole it. I was thinking of getting another but if its anythkng better ojt there ill grab that. Anybody got any suggestions?
Hammer radioactive Vibe deserves an honorable mention because i don't think there is a better ball at it's low price point. That is the ball i'm hoping Santa Has under the tree for me this year.

The dark web is a phenomenal control piece for the burn.
Hammer axe plastic reative bowling ball if my second radical the spy plastic 14 pound bowling cracked again then I would get the hammer axe plastic reative bowling ball on dry lanes as a strike bowling ball on dry lanes in 2023 or 2024 would be my number one plastic bowling ball with more durable plastic bowling ball reative plastic bowlling ball
My top is the Brunswick Quantum Evo Response🥳 This ball has been such a game changer, it’s been super versatile for me and has been amazing for my game!
I think radical has been killing it lately. Ive historically been a storm bowler but that may have changed. Radical has really surprised me with how much better their balls seem to roll/last
Nick. Your so good you just make all the balls look good. I like my new TNT!
Happy and surprised to see the GB4 on the list. I bought one 6 months ago and still have people in league asking me what it is. The proshop recommened it as a complement to my main ball, the GB2. I really enjoy both of them.
DV8 Chill has been the ball for me this year. Honorable mention to both the Perfect Mindset and Hellcat XLR8 as well, but the Chill is it.
Love my GB4 Hybrid for mostly the reasons you stated. Feel like I can throw it just about anywhere on the lane, and trust it. Can't think of another ball from ANY brand that would replace it.

This was awesome! Loved seeing all the different ball reactions. How many bowling balls can a man own at once is the real question.
Good question!
Just in time for Christmas 🎄

Gotta go with the OG ball that used the program to eventually get to the Hitter and ZigZag. 👍🏻
Started throwing the DV8 Chill and love it. Thought it might have made the list. A lot of good balls out now.

Just shot my first 800 with the BW 2.0 Hybrid last Wednesday. Great ball, will most definitely be stocking up on this ball!
I would have to include The Hitter and the Bigfoot Hybrid to go with the Outer Limits. The three have been in my bag since each came out and currently are my arsenal.
big foot hybrid was the ball i was most interested in this year but i saw zero press about it!
Bigfoot Hybrid was 2022.

Alex
Hammer hazmat has been amazing already! Oh and a question Didn't the Bw 2.0 hybrid come out in February 2022? This list is 2023 isn't it?
No, BW 2.0 Hybrid was Feb 2023.
I knew the top 2…NAILED IT.
Radical innovator solid just a solid strong ball for heavy oil and hits hard
I use the pink Widow urethane, it is a bit stronger than the Purple Hammer....thanks for the list Nick.

Best hardest hitting ball with tons of continuation that I've had in a long time - Hitter . I wonder how it compares to the Envy Tour?
My nomination goes to the Katana Strike, loved my Slash and this is about as close i can get to it

Which bowling ball is Best for pin down and what it looks like when it rolls
That entirely depends on the bowler and the conditions they bowl on. There’s no one answer. I drill none of these pin down for review.
Yeah, The Black Widow 2.0 Hybrid is badass.
I still love my Roto Grip Epic Battle. One of these years, I'll buy a new ball. Maybe.
