    Could have played in any era.....one of only a few guys that played the game hard all the time. Simply the best!!

    He should be in the hall of fame even if he did not put enough good years of his prime with injuries but because he was a dirt dog and inspired so many people

    The kind of guy who would eat a plate of dirt just to get the chance to play, as honest a player as there ever was. Shame on Machado for such a cheap play, Ped would be in the HOF.

      @@andrewbarone8605he’ll be in the Red Sox hall of fame his numbers aren’t hall of fame worthy and I idolized Pedroia growing up wore number 15 and played second base in high school.

    Dustin Pedroia is one of the most important people in my life, and I don't know him. I respect Dustin Pedroia, not only because he plays hard, not because he is a tough s.o.b, but because he is a great person, and he is amazing to watch, but I love him for everything else too. Watching him has been quite the ride. I hope he gets into the hall.

    This man was the absolute truth!!! There was nothing he couldn't do on that diamond!!! He was the heart and soul of the Red Sox as soon as he came up to the Big Club. I swear i miss him... I hope he gets in the H.O.F!!! I will never forget this one!!!!

      Bro, his body didn't fail him. That asshole Manny Machado played dirty and hurt his knee, I think it was. If not for that, you would've seen him leave the game, an old man. Instead, he had to go early. It never got back right!!!

    My cousin Pedro Beato got the privilege to play on my favorite team. And he told Big papi of course was the man the leader in the clubhouse but his English was and still is shot lol. But when Pedroia talked in the clubhouse everyone listened

    I enjoyed watching him play as much as anyone I ever saw. And I saw Aaron, Rose, Stargell, Bench Clemente, etc. A True Gamer. Pedey never let up. If he suited up, it was 100% every time. I'll miss seeing him play.

    I miss all those great moments that The (Great) Dustin Pedroia gave us Boston Red Sox fans. His name should be in the Baseball Hall Of Fame one day.

      @@damagedone115 Yeah....I look at guys like Michael Young and Jimmy Rollins who had similar careers to Peedy & they aren't in and won't get in unless it's a vet committee vote. Dustin only played ten years because of the injuries, which hurts him because his numbers aren't what they could have been. It's a shame because had he stayed healthy, I think he gets in....But, he's in the Red Sox Hall of Fame & I actually think the Sox should retire his jersey number. He really meant SO much to that team, that city and those fans.

    As good of a hitter as he was, he was the best defensive second baseman I ever saw. I started watching baseball around 1982. Certainly the best Red Sox second baseman.

    I watched this guy come up through the minors and loved watching the laser show in the big leagues. One of my all time favorite players.

    I very much dislike the Red Sox but I love Pedroia. He always killed my team but it's so hard not to respect him. I modeled a ton of my game at 2B after him and Howie Kendrick. He's the type of guy I'll tell my kids about watching. I hope he has a happy retirement.

    The stolen base @ 3:45 and going to 3rd because the shift was on with Big Papi and nobody at the bag. Awareness. That defensive play @ 8:26, shows his head was always in the game. High baseball IQ plus hustle = winner.

    You know childhood was good when you can't decide whether Big Papi or Pedroia is the best Red Sox you've seen. Loved Mookie but he wasn't like these guys and he's not a red sox
    Also can't imagine what people like Rice, Yaz, Fisk, and Pedro have to think when it comes to the best Red Sox ever
