- Here is our list of our top 5 most overrated places in California! It is a follow up from our last video on the top 5 hidden gems, and best places in California. We have lived here many years and love our home state dearly, and although we think there is value to be had in every place, we want to steer you in the right direction ;)
I am curious to hear your thoughts on number one, and am in therapy to resolve my past issues with this treacherous valley. Hahaha JK

Yeah Pismo is very overrated! I went to Cal Poly SLO and I only really enjoy the outside areas for the wine (Paso Robles and Avila are great for that). SLO is cute for an outsider to spend a day but no more than that really. Venice was such a let down for me when I went a few years back. Great videos, guys. I loved the suspense of which location would come next 😂 I am one of those people who loves SF but then again, I live an hour away and I have friends who live there so I have plenty of opportunities to fall in love with it.
I was expecting number one to be L.A. or Anaheim 😂 mainly because I hear about those places all the time. But I have actually been to Anaheim + Disneyland and loved it! Your dynamic is amazing as well. You two have the best videos 👏🏼😍

In the late 80’s Ocean Beach so totally sucked. Just battleship after battleship just battleship.
Did I see dead fish all over Pismo Beach? Did you get a snowboard and ride the sand dunes.

In high school there were a group of so obnoxious girls constantly yelling (YELLING) about Solana Beach and tennis beach. If you’re planning a trip to California stay away from Solana Beach.

Of everyone who goes to San Fransisco few ever return. My son bought a house there. Great.
BTW, my son was born at Sunrise Hospital in Beautiful Las Vegas Dr. R. Garn Maybe was a great OBGYN.

California itself is overrated. There are just better places. It used to be very nice though. I was stationed in Camp Pendleton in the 90s and it was awesome back then.
