That's the first time I've watched a 147 live and what a 147 it was, some outstanding shots to keep the break going, congratulations Mark.
I was at the Ronnie and ding match and that was my first live snooker event. Best feeling ever.
Watching it live is something else! And when the commentators talk about it you always remember… oh I watched that one live! I can only imagine the thrill of being in the audience!

I am sure any player would have been happy for Mark Allen, even Reanne Evans (extra maintenance money), but he and Mark Selby seem to have an especially friendly and humorous relationship, if past matches are anything to go by.

that was HUGE HUGE HUGE pressure that had to be like if not the best then at least 1 of the best 147s ever had to overcome so so so many really difficult pots

Murphy shootout one is is close. Both had to pot a miracle red and somehow get on the black: Murphy's 13 red and Allen's 12.
Nothing better in sport than an athlete hitting a 147. Even the opponent is rooting for you, unheard of!
Not unheard of in the classiest of sports: in snooker, opponents always congratulate a 147.

I was only searching his most recent 147 a couple nights ago, great stuff. Met him in November and watched him play some frames. Funny guy, well deserved
Was great seeing how relaxed and enjoying it he was, as the break was going on.
Probably helped him, because several of those shots were nerve-shredding, with 2000 people on the edge of their seat desperate to see them go in.

You get off to a flyer winning the openining 2 frames and then this happens to you, Now that's got to dent your confidence and knock you out of your stride, What a great sport snooker is and Mark Allen has just proven how entertaining this sport is even without The great Ronnie O'sullivan involved in the match, Well played Mark Allen and great sportsmanship shown from Mark Selby, Both players are an absolute credit to snooker and brilliant to watch.

That was pretty awsome from mark he was not in ideal position on a number of occasions just goes to show the class of the man....
The thing I love most about this beautiful game is the mutual respect between everyone involved. Selby on his feet with massive smile on his face to congratulate his opponent before Mark had even fully left the table, then the ref rushing in to ensure a handshake is given. Wonderful stuff.

As the commentator said after the first red 'Hmm, not great positionally'. But he kept potting from all angles, glad he managed to get the maximum, well played.

The 147 doesn't seem to have the aura which it used to have these days. I guess the players are so much better, the cloths are faster etc. I wonder if there is a position for a tournament where the position of the colours is swapped after each frame - that would make the refs earn their keep too!
I think a similar thing should happen in darts, after each set the board should get rotated to a random position so that the 20 isn't always at the top.
Under that pressure the pink and black were superb.

The fact that we now so many 147 breaks and so frequently, is testament to the fact that todays players are head and shoulders above the 'greats' of the past. Fair play to Mark in that one as there were so many difficult shots to play to keep it going.

That is right up there with one of the best 147 you will see. Some of the shots are so easy to miss but to keep his cool like that fair play amazing to watch.
Shot for shot, probably the best 147 ever. He ground it out to the max, absolutely unreal all the way. You can see how much Selby thought of it, he knows just what Allen did to get this.
As 147,s go that was right up there with the best 🎉
