I wish people paid more attention to bending and vibrato instead of shredding. It makes such a difference.
I disagree. 😉
@@JeffMcErlain Oh sorry Yngwie 😘
Shred licks are forgettable, melody rules supreme!
I wish more people paid attention to developing technique AND tasteful playing. It's not a false dilemma (either-or), it's all part of the full spectrum of playing an instrument.
Any kind of bending is such an expressive technique and I love playing 1/2 step bends 👍
Clapton’s intro to Cream’s “Badge” also uses some of these bending techniques to great effect 🤔
9:21 opened my eyes, I never figured out how to make that sound. thank you very much Jeff you improved my game by light years in a few minutes. I also play a lot with vibrato, bends and slides, but I would never have thought of that myself. It's so easy 😅 🎉
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Great as always Jeff.
Thank you.
That first half bend at 2:11 I’m hearing “Pink Cadillac”
I’ll go back and listen!
Great lesson
Thanks as always!
Damn you've got some killer tone on that Tuttle
He can make a sweet guitar!
Great stuff! Thank you
Thanks!
What a fantastic video have a good weekend also I cut my thumb when I was washing the dishes
Thanks and sorry to hear about your thumb!
Love how you explain it and expertly play your way through it. There is plenty of territory in a half step bend. I think I kinda knew it--thanks to you I now more completely understand it!!!
Thank you!!
Jeff, you did again! Just as my practice sessions start to get a bit stale and boring you come out with this gold nugget of juiciness and spark my motivation back up to 10. Big fan of your playing. Have both of your albums. Brilliant stuff! 👍
Thank you very much and that makes me happy! So glad I could help!
Thank you Jeff. Since discovering your channel you have inspired me to discover and try new things. I guess an old dog like me can learn new tricks after all!
Hey! Thank you for letting me know that. It means a lot to me and makes my day. All the best!!
Been revisiting some of your older vids and watching this I gotta say your editing, camera and lighting are better than ever......and you yourself are looking great, healthy looking....keep up the good work all round.
Thanks! I appreciate that! Lots of effort goes into that so I really appreciate it. As for my appearance, thank you as well. I'm pretty obsessively a healthy eater! (Mostly)...
Thank you Jeff, you are such a great teacher and player. Love this sound, and I will try to use it more masterfully after this tutorial. Awesome stuff.
Thank you. I really appreciate the kind words and I’m glad the video helped!
Hey Jeff, Love your lessons!!🔥🙏
Thanks!!
Great video as always Jeff thanks. Missing our Wednesday live streams...hope you are well and back on it soon .
I will be and thanks! Lots going on lately but I’ll be back! Thanks Jason!
Yeah Jeff Beck Pork Pie Hat! Learned that one for a jam recently that stuff is all over it.
Yup!!!
Great lesson !! Thanks Jeff
Glad you liked it!
Great lesson Jeff. If you listen to Jerry Garcia's lead playing from back in 1972-73 he was pretty obsessed with half step bends at the time, and used them very expressively IMO.
🙌🏻🙌🏻
Boomer bends are not sterile. That's why
Ha! I agree.
Philosophically as well. That guitar sounds fantastic.
