I have watched CGB play hundreds if not thousands of azorius control games. I have seen him cycle 100s of sharks typhoons. I can not explain my deep satisfaction with him playing not one but TWO shark typhoons!!! Bruh it doesn’t get any better than that. Plus playing on the back foot the whole match with like 5 life for 15 mins. I mean cmon a control players dream! Thank you CGB even if u lost the double shark slam was my magic highlight this week and it wasn’t even me playing! Thanks again
I used to think Azorius was a cowards color combo. I have seen the light. Where I once was a Rakdos jank I am now a Azorius jank. Praise be to CGB the great converter
My only problem with Azorious is when it’s land drop say go counter/ remove what opponent plays. I don’t mind it at all when it has an actual win progression that isn’t counter everything until I play my win con
@@trombonepower1 Thats exactly what I love about it though. I LOVE just saying no to everything the opponent does and then my end game is some dumb ass jank card that I desperately want to win with. It was Dream Trawler for awhile until I realized that card is not nearly as jank as I thought haha

He couldn't control that embercleave sliding into his opponents hands. Truly tragic and yet poetic moment for CGB. Prayers coming your way for your full recovery.😩🙏
22:05 That's some heart of cards bs. I would search for that player, he might be an anime protagonist while you were the opponent for character development reasons
Dying with help from your own spells is weirdly honorable, I recently was killed with commander damage by my own commander and someone using my decks playstyle against me
Finally the cgb UW control deck for 2021! I have been playing 4 yorions in a 60 card deck and going for the charming prince loop and when it works it works great but a lot of times its just too slow to set up and too easy for adventures to interact with. Cant wait to try this version out.
Thanks for the content. At heart I'm a big stompy player but trying to get better at control. It doesn't come naturally to me but your videos are definitely helping
I really love that you are playing M21 standard stuff as well. Giving us a bit of an idea what to expect next month and just gets away from what we've seen for so long now! Loving it!
CBG I love you!! Between this video and the most recent Arenacraft podcast, I've realized the power of Banishing Light. I hit a planeswalker with it, my opponent gives me the "Oops," plays another of the same planeswalkers, I blink my Banishing Light with Yorion and remove both walkers. Love it
I feel like running runed halo instead of lantern is better. It has more synergy withthe archon and actually destroys aggressive decks (especially after blinking it changing protection to whatever you need most) plus it gives you protection from Zenith Flare.
Nothing but huge respect for Azorius players from me! When I see blue/white, I always think back to Sun Titan + Phantasmal Image combo. And a heap of counterspells!
I've been playing an Izzet Adventures deck that looks very similar to a mono Red deck. Copying [Boulder Rush] (from Rimrock Knight) or [Rage of Winter] (from Queen of Ice) many times is great!! Also, having Lucky Clovers when you steal their adventures with Robber of the Rich is great. Also going face with Bonecrusher Giant. You can even play Embereth Shieldbreaker to destroy all their artifacts as well!! Would love to see an actual pro create a list for it :D Do it CGB!!
What a game against monoblack!! Btw i love that you have a shoutout to DrSpilikin :) i am already subbed to him and he defenetly needs more love. He has some really nice janky deck ideas, that help me to build some nonsense decks!
Just once I’d love to hear CGB say; “they play rakdos red, rakdos red, rakdos red!” To the tune of this is Halloween. As a HUGE nightmare before Christmas and rakdos fan, I would die peacefully!
Control mage is back baby! That win against mono black control was epic! My favourite part is the BM manual tapping you always do, like at 53:21 how you look at casting Yorion with the auto tapper and then....NO, mind games bitch, and manual tap all the same lands to rub in the fact you have other cards you can play and crush any last smidge of hope he builds. I'm going to incorporate that into my gameplay now 😃 10/10
Hey dude ! New sub to the channel here, been following your stuff for a good couple of month now and I really enjoy it ! Always super relevant, thorough and concise at the same time. I've always been a big fan of BW control, use to play the archetype way back when Morningtide was around and have always loved the archetype ever since. What do you think about maybe including fae of wishes in the list ? Maybe that's way to slow in current meta I don't know.
Hi CGB, vs the Mono-black opponent you could have given them back their Massacre Wurm (after they chose to Murderous Rider your Yorion) and also blinked your Wall token, that way when you Shatter the Sky you don't take any damage from the Wurm.
Heliods intervention could deal with a playset of lucky clovers fairly easily or gain some life if not. Anyway, the last game was epic! Nice content as always.
Soul guide lantern is an extremly underrated card. For one mana it really forces a lot of meta decks to eventually interact with it and in best of one at worst you get card draw from it. Gotta say too that dance of the manse with birth, soul guide and typhoon together are game enders as well late game.
Cool deck, as a fellow control player I can relate how hard it is to play control in this format. I prefer Jeskai, Esper and Grixis to just UW, but that is just because I am not that much into holding up counter-magic, I'd rather tap out myself and answer threats. Still I enjoy watching your take on control in a really fast format. Thanks for the content!
22:04 I'd rage too and smash my keyboard if that happened to me. Magic is still 50% luck (opening hand, succeeding draws) and 50% skill (play + deck building).
I always loose to UW control. Because after turn 4 I always fall asleep. Red Deck 4tw!!11 :-) The disbelief after the embercleave came out. priceless ^^
