The more I watch clips of Flair, Piper, and Hogan the more I appreciate and respect the greatest wrestler ever to step in the ring, Randy Savage. He saw the direction of where wrestling was going back in 1999, and walked away. You never heard him badmouth another wrestler off camera. Never talked about the behind the scenes, never pointed fingers. He wrestled, did what he had to do in the ring, invested his money, and retired. Walked away. God bless you Randy Savage You're missed. RIP
the thing about flair that you couldn't necessarily say about other top tier wrestlers was that he was friends with several of his fellow wrestlers like piper, both the andersons, and steamboat
2 of the alltime greats here; the wrestlers of the 70s & 80s are the true showmen/talents of the sport. The stuff you see these days is like most everything else these days... wayy too modern and electronic, cheap, overdone BS. The good ol' days are far better than times we see now. Shit was real back then, so were the ppl.
The baseball bloke inducting Mr Perfect was fine with me. They were legitimate good friends, and if it wasn't for Curt that baseball player could of died. Agree with the others.
I just finished watching Wrestlemania 8, and during the promo before the Bret vs Piper match, Piper did say something about visiting them when Bret was a kid. So you maybe right.
I so believe Piper headlined or co-headlined many events against Jimmy Snuka. I could be wrong but do some research as I will too. Remember, the then WWF would often times have big shows on the same night in multiple cities and even multiple shows in the same city.
Roddy Piper should have been WWF World Champion. If he were to beat Hogan for the title by cheating with the help of Bob Orton and then go on saying he did it himself and all that getting heat, and then have Hogan win it back from him again after getting screwed would have been a great angle.
Piper and Flair!!! Classic. They tarnish Nothing!! They earned the right to do and say whatever they want!!! THE BEST!!! I always wish Hennig did a shoot!!! Flair is the MAN!! Piper and Flair the 2 best talkers ever!! This DVD is bought. If you're not interested just order you a copy of Hogan Knows Best...yeah right!!
"How do you know what I know" That statement is exactly my point. So many people think they have the insider edge and know these guys' personal life. And all you really know is shit you read on dirt sheets. Do you know Flair personally? Most likely not and therefore all of your "facts" are speculation. I take my info from interviews with people actually in the business for many years and regardless of the negative things hes done here and there, his passion for the business is obvious.
Stallone indicting Hogan and Schwarzenegger inducting Bruno were both very appropriate. No wrestler available to the company was really worthy of inducting the two biggest stars ever. Vince inducting Austin was the only thing on a similar level that made sense, but having Vince just do them as well would have cheapened it.
Stallone I get because if it wasn't for him, NOBODY would know who Hulk Hogan was, period. Rocky 3 put Hulk on the map. He was a garbage wrestler and remained a garbage wrestler (with his 3 moves) his whole career but boy oh boy did Rocky 3 send him soaring
@deanw0rmer i think they mistak mid card for middle weigght.. as roddy was not a big guy like hogan, andre, etc,,, but for sure he was always big time ..transcends wrestling,, if u ask non wrestling fans to name a wrestler.he is still known..
I agree w/ Flair's comment about celebrities inducting wrestlers it does suck. A legend like Bruno being inducted by Arnold Swartzonagger. Curt Henning's induction by the baseball player "sorry I don't follow baseball", William Shatner inducting Lawler, Stallion inducting Hogan it should never be done in my opinion
He really didn't. He wasn't that involved throughout the video. It's just one man's opinion, but I went crazy when I saw this was made, and pre-ordered it months before it came out, and was really disappointed. I don't want anybody else to have that experience...
I think Flair ment Piper should have been inducted to the hall of fame at a different year than Hogan and that his induction should have been a bigger deal. Piper was the main heel in that era of the early 80's where wrestling started to become main stream. Piper was great heel and did contribute to the succrss of the early and mid 80's, but what has he done since then, not a damn thing.
lol, The Mountie was a transitional champ that would allow Piper to get the championship off him at Rumble92 to set up the Piper vs Bret showdown at Mania8. It was all done to make Bret look good and to make him look more credible before going for world title.
Got this yesterday in the mail after pre-ordering it about six weeks ago. Tremendous disappointment. Roddy Piper is high out of his mind - and not in an entertaining fun "Iron Sheik Way". Flair says the same things he said on his own HighSpots shoot. I love both of these guys and think they are phenominal, but save your money and pass on this one, folks.
liste wrestling took off after hogan was thunderlips in rocky3 before that........wrestling..it was nothing to main stream............thats the fact check the time frame of movie to wrestlemania and that business taking off like a rocket HOGAN AND STALLON
@surg559 It's 'Piper', not PIPPER. And what's the matter with how he looks btw gay people can looks like anyone but yet you buy into the stereotype talk I guess huh? It would be one thing if he was and would be nothing wrong with it, but which I don't think he is, but you say it with insult and malice, and indeliberate prejudice. Show a little more respect for the guy.
Craig hogan was the draw and made himself and everybody involved in the business at top level more money the million dollar contracts were because of hogan I loved macho man but there was a bitterness there just saying
I miss you Piper. you were really one of the greatest.
He was
I miss Roddy. He was ill and still laughing about old times. There will never be another one like him. Thanks for all the fun you gave us Hot Rod.
Vince treated Flair more like a legend than the TNA ever could.
R.I.P. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper...A true great in the business.
Great interview from two of the best loved wresters of all time :))
& the first time I've ever seen flair wearing jeans lol.
These two crack me up Icons and legends in the sport of wrestling.................
I miss piper one of my favorite entertainers of all time he was very funny with it r.i.p Roddy
Ric Flair, BLUE JEANS? Wow.... Well I'm sure they're "Custom Made" Woooo!
You Gotta' love Piper & Flair.
At 1:29, a spider on the wall catches Ric's eye!
+Johnny Ace Flair just went more than 30 seconds without talking. That was messing with him.
the two best mic workers in the history of wrestling(along with HBK and the rock)
Didn't understand half the stuff they said but I loved it. The two best wrestlers ever in the bizz. All banged up to make us happy.
3:36 LOL "I don't mind getting beat, just let me have my robe on and everything."
The reason Piper doesn't have the accent is because he is from Canada. Although I like that he takes pride in his Scottish Heritage
Funny when Ric freezes up while Piper is talking
The more I watch clips of Flair, Piper, and Hogan the more I appreciate and respect the greatest wrestler ever to step in the ring, Randy Savage. good to see that like after all these years they are still close!
For all you Denver area Roddy Piper fans, Rowdy Roddy Piper will be performing at Comedy Works downtown April 14-16!
Ric Flair is a legend, period. He had a whole career because of Wahoo McDaniel and Buddy Rodgers, but he's still a legend.
the thing about flair that you couldn't necessarily say about other top tier wrestlers was that he was friends with several of his fellow wrestlers like piper, both the andersons, and steamboat

love them both roddy rip
The interview was shot the Friday AFTER WrestleMania 25.
The baseball bloke inducting Mr Perfect was fine with me. They were legitimate good friends, and if it wasn't for Curt that baseball player could of died. Agree with the others.
Both these guys look rough but their careers were incredible.
Piper... Flair what a Combo. R.I.P. HOT ROD.
I just finished watching Wrestlemania 8, and during the promo before the Bret vs Piper match, Piper did say something about visiting them when Bret was a kid. So you maybe right.
Stallone wasn't a wrestler but he made Hulk very famous on Rocky 3 movie then Vince used Hulk to make WWE a big company...
can someone post the whole thing?
when was this shot?
It's true, it's kinda bizarre, he's sort of a shy guy really, very modest.
I didnt know rowdy and i don't care that guy was a legit person, spoke his mind, much respect sir.
I have never heard a truer fact in my life than what Ric said at 1:50 ...
good point
Anyone know where the full interview is?
Roddy looks older there now in 2011 he looks a lot better!
love um both ...
I so believe Piper headlined or co-headlined many events against Jimmy Snuka. I could be wrong but do some research as I will too. Remember, the then WWF would often times have big shows on the same night in multiple cities and even multiple shows in the same city.
If I was in the fight of my life...two guys I want at my back would be Roddy Piper and Bob Orton!
Too greats
why did they use a picture of Roddy with red eye.
Roddy Piper should have been WWF World Champion. If he were to beat Hogan for the title by cheating with the help of Bob Orton and then go on saying he did it himself and all that getting heat, and then have Hogan win it back from him again after getting screwed would have been a great angle.
Don't badmouth Stallone. He's awesome
Stallone is an asshole, what ya gonna do about it?!
Piper crazy m.f. a true tuff guy
Piper and Flair!!! Classic. They tarnish Nothing!! They earned the right to do and say whatever they want!!! THE BEST!!! I always wish Hennig did a shoot!!! Flair is the MAN!! Ive always thought Flair should have inducted Hogan
Wow first time seeing flair in jeans.....what is the world coming to?
@deanw0rmer i think they mistak mid card for middle weigght.. as roddy was not a big guy like hogan, andre, etc,,,
but for sure he was always big time ..transcends wrestling,, if u ask non wrestling fans to name a wrestler.he is still known..
@hawkinn39 It almost brought tears to my eyes also, but no matter what, Flair is and always will be God.
is it just me or Piper looks like Bret Hart?
Wow, I have that same Marvel shirt...
Wade Boggs was very good friends with curt
Think Arnold was genuinely friends and admired Bruno.
2 of the greatest there will ever be in pro wrestling. The stuff on TV right now is garbage
He really didn't. He wasn't that involved throughout the video. It's just one man's opinion, but I went crazy when I saw this was made, and pre-ordered it months before it came out, and was really disappointed. I don't want anybody else to have that experience...

I agree with naitch about how it sucks having the celebrities induct people into the hall of fame. Same goes for celebrities wrestling.
Flair's right, including a wife/ex-wife/mother of child character would have changed the perspective of the movie "The Wrestler."
@Finisherx619x Yep but at the same time I hardly even consider Drew Carey a Celebrity.
lol, The Mountie was a transitional champ that would allow Piper to get the championship off him at Rumble92 to set up the Piper vs Bret showdown at Mania8. It was all done to make Bret look good and to make him look more credible before going for world title.
Lol, love it!
That's a horrible pic of Ric in the begining lol
Rowdy Roddy Piper icon Ledgend wrestling god
i dont know how people can say this shit is not real, these guys take a shit load of physical and mental punishment.
Why piper not wearing his HOT ROD SHIRT
Rip Hot Rod Rowdy Roddy Piper And Nature Boy Ric Flair
Flair is not dead bro
@jhiguyfj
You mean he lied to us?
@surg559 piper looks buzzed.
Hmm didn't know you can get drunk from drinking red bull and dasani water. I have to try that
@massiveham lmao!
CM PUNK SOUNDS A LOT LIKE A ROWDY RODDY PIPER TYPE OF WRESTLER HE WAS A HEEL THEN A FACE
Punk couldn't make a pimple on Roddy's ass!
Whoever called Piper a "midcarder" doesn't know a fucking thing
Hate to say this because I love the guy, but Piper is seriously stoned here.
How come Piper never has a Scottish accent?
He's Canadian. He has Scottish in him. His last name in Tombs. That is Scottish.
Is it just me or does Piper sound drunk? Or punch drunk maybe?
the hall of fame is in vinces head so noone else should take it seriously
Got this yesterday in the mail after pre-ordering it about six weeks ago. Tremendous disappointment. Roddy Piper is high out of his mind - and not in an entertaining fun "Iron Sheik Way". LMAO @ Flair talking about how the mother creates all the problems... the movie sure missed a helluva an equation, lol
@DeathNebula It the real rich people that don't need to dress up so often.
Flair should have inducted Hogan. That'd be epic
Nah mate - that's just Piper when he is not in character - off screen that is just him, it's only on screen or in the ring that he is a loudmouth.
Dude...riffs like that are universal...same riff is in HEY JOE...who gives a shit...let's hear your work
liste wrestling took off after hogan was thunderlips in rocky3 before that........wrestling..it was nothing to main stream............thats the fact check the time frame of movie to wrestlemania and that business taking off like a rocket HOGAN AND STALLON
Like if Celeb Wife Swap sent you here!
i think this iterview was whernt he was ribs injury
More like an end table but w/e
Looks like Piper is about 12 deep.
One of them is drunk and it isn't Flair
@surg559 It's 'Piper', not PIPPER. And what's the matter with how he looks btw gay people can looks like anyone but yet you buy into the stereotype talk I guess huh?
It would be one thing if he was and would be nothing wrong with it, but which I don't think he is, but you say it with insult and malice, and indeliberate prejudice. Show a little more respect for the guy.
HEY ROWDY RODDY PIPER AND RIC FLAIR WANT SOME REFRESHMENTS HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I think Piper just got done smoking some skunk weed!
Craig hogan was the draw and made himself and everybody involved in the business at top level more money the million dollar contracts were because of hogan I loved macho man but there was a bitterness there just saying
@LEEKYLE99 RIP MACHO MAN
Nice Marvel shirt Piper ya big nerd.
Despite Hogan and Flair didn't coexist in their primes, Ric was always Hogan's arch nemesis. Flair should have inducted Hogan without question.
Lol attaboy Flair it is the mother that causes CHIT all the time. Lol.
@DeathNebula He's broke!!!!!!!!!!!
اللهم صل على محمد..
flair looks ridiculous
is he on drugs
Wait, you're a chick, right?
