The cheese bread thing Link did was a standard snack when I was growing up. Also liked putting a sprinkle of crushed chilis and a hotdog sliced into rounds on top before microwaving.
@@eddieravenwood "American cheese" has its place, and that place is as cheese glue to merge other kinds of cheese together (for grilled cheese or mac).

5, no matter what the topping is or what I'm using it for. It has to be a 5. Also, Link isn't the only one that enjoyed "soft hot cheese bread" as a kid. I added a step though & would dip it in ketchup though lol... It was the ultimate snack for me at my grandparents' house.
Link's cheese bread just unlocked a forgotten childhood memory. I'd cook a hotdog in the microwave then put it on a slice of bread and lastly put a slice of American cheese on top to melt in the microwave for a few seconds. Weird but I recall it being delicious lol
man this episode is taking me back to some dark times when i used to microwave sliced bagels with kraft singles on top for about 20-30 secs until I could see the cheese start to melt over.
5 is perfect for me, it’s got the crunch and flavor for sandwiches or toast that I’m usually looking for. 3-4 is great if your looking to taste the bread on its own best.
The three simple sugars: fructose, galactose, and burntose. I like 3 and 5 - both have the right amount of Maillard browning. 7 is too close to charcoal and 1 is pale sadness.
I'm with Link on the warm cheese bread. I make it 1-2 times a week since I was in elementary school (I'm 32 now) 👍🏻 I've got my 2 year old into it now!
"We Try Every Dial On The Toaster" Rhett: I don't want to try every one. Coward. Don't fear the power of the toaster. Get a toaster with twice the number of settings and try them all.
I love how this just turned into Link obsessing over his soft cheese bread. K but I do see how it would be good. Also I feel like I’ve tried that before (because I have pretty much only ever used a microwave & toaster for cooking my whole life) but I actually want to try it to see how tastes. Update to my comment: wow cheese on a pop tart?! The revelations! 😂👌🏻
I'm 68 years old and I remember doing Link's soft cheese bread when I was about 6 or 7. No microwaves back then, but we did have a toaster oven. (And I choose 5 for the toast.)

3 & 5 depending on what i'm making it for. But i could also do an in between - 4. I would use 3 for putting fried egg, cheese and slice of ham on it, 5 would be good for peanut butter and jam, 4 would be a cinnamon and sugar.

Yeah I honestly do this when I cant do a proper grilled cheese. Also sometimes salt and pepper and mayo. Idk why I started doing it but it was my college years.
Soft cheese bread is amazing I did it all the time as a kid and then when I was pregnant last year I totally started doing it again and loved it just as much. I put bbq sauce on it under the cheese too 🤤
The sweet spot's in between 5 and 3 when it comes to that toaster at least. The 2 setting on mine gives you what the 4 setting on yours would've given.
I actually fully agree with link on this one, I’ve had cheesy bread in the past and it’s super good, I just recommend using a little higher quality cheese

Unless you have frozen bread, 5 is perfect. 4 is not enough.

5 definitely has the structural integrity to take varied topping, got to love the crunch!🍞🥞🥯🥐

Link in his old age will just be putting anything in the microwave with a slice of cheese for 20 seconds 😂
No it's good I tried it sprinkle some Himalayan salt on it boom cheesy soft pretzel
Gurl you look like a slice of cheese that's been in the microwave for 20 minutes.
I could totally see a Will It around putting a slice of kraft cheese on random foods and melting it for a bit!!!
That episode would probably be called
"Will it not make us sick?"
"Enjoy the cheese bread. Fold it over. It's good."

A hotdog *is* a sandwich after all 🤷🏼♀️😉😂
The 3 setting looks like perfection to me. I want my toast to be warm and soft on the inside with a slight crunch on the outside.
