Rob's foot is getting better, woohoo!
Awe... It's over so soon.
I love watching old friends talk about all things old and new. Keep it up guys. We love you both
Always like when Rob man makes an appearance
Absolutely LOVE when you guys get together for a game chat, it reminds me that amongst the toxicity of this fan base there are PURE gamers out there just loving games like myself and that is a boost to the serotonin levels for sure 😊
For me, there's something just comforting about TBRPGs. I love the combat, the grinding, and strategy that went into playing older games. Lots of good new stuff too, but my heart will always love TBRPGs.
Just think if they did a Final Fantasy Tactics remake (with original gameplay kept intact)!
@@yittmashups It would be epic and such a welcomed thing. Maybe project triangle will be closer to FFT. Here's to hope!
I think you mean JRPG. Turn-based combat is a mechanic, not a genre.
@@TheIllustriouBlueJay A lot of people consider it a genre these days. I made the distinction because RPG is so broad now and that's what I was talking about.
TheIllustriouBlueJay I think they were just being descriptive to delineate the difference between turn based RPGs and action.
My favorite part of Sunday is the new episode of HCG. And love Rob Man! Cheers guys
Just woke up from a nap, I’m on holiday in Gibraltar and there’s a new HCG video with Rob… life’s good 🍻😌
I got my Sega Dreamcast for Christmas back in 1999 in Gibraltar 👏
Rob Man is such a kind, wholesome and accepting person. I love this guy
@@16BitDungeon I follow both of them on twitter , and I have seen a lot of love and acceptance coming from Rob Man
@@16BitDungeon only makes him cooler
God I feel old. Almost 25 years since the original FFVII, and that was cutting edge. FFVII, FFVIII, FFTactics... they got me through some tough teen years.
Same man
Always a pleasure to hear Rob Man.
Thank You!!! I love my turn based RPGs. We need them still.
Thank you for reminding me how amazing the opening theme to Wild Arms is. For anyone interested, Wild Arms is on the PlayStation Classic, if they have one and don’t feel like getting out the original.
I remember talking with my friends back in the nes days about how crazy video games would be when we are 40 years old. Now I'm 43 and they are just as awesome as we thought they would be. Cant believe it's been that long.
We're about the same age. Isn't it great to have been alive through the continued maturation of video games?
Was just watching a boss mode gamer play Wild Arms on PS1 the other day on Twitch. Lovely time it was. Hanging out with ppl has changed indeed.
Hands down my fav channel on YT rn, I’m playing JRPGs because of this channel.
Love watching you and Rob man talk about older games. You can tell you're best friends so strongly with the way you two interact. Traditional JRPG's for life! I will never stop loving them. Currently playing Suikoden 4 and it's still just as amazing as before.
Health wise, I hope Rob is doing all right and that his 2021 is better than 2020. It's always great to see him.
I would love to see a follow-up video on how Final Fantasy 7 Remake's ending will hit him. For me, it was a 10/10 game up until those last episodes. It kind of knocked it to a 7/10.
I truly hope both of you guys find a way to play Fantasian someday. I know you both won't regret it.
Hearing Rob talk about FF7 Remake: Intergrade got me to play through the game again on my PS5 and now I’m dead set on playing all mainline entries in the series. Love the passion of this channel so much!!
Yooooo shoutout to Wild Arms, hope you’re doing alright Rob Man 😊
Hell yeah Wild Arms is one of the best JRPG's out there. That music track too
Always a treat to see you both together 😁😁, glad you are healing up Rob!
Guys, I can relate to that soooo much: some days ago I was talking on the phone about Hollow Knight with my best friend, the same exact way we did when we were in high school, 23 years ago…
Time surely flies, but it’s our passions that keeps us alive and kicking no matter what happens.
Cheers to all true friendships!
Man the show really grown throughout the years. I remember back in the day when Johnny used to review entire series or having robman over alot. I know things change now but its great to see that something still stay the same.
...and i got shivers when hearing finaly some1 is talking about WILD ARMS!!!!!!!!!!! I damn love all parts of Wild Arms!! What a fantastic series!!
Always a pleasure to see you and Rob Man together. Glad to hear he’s doing better!
Heck yeah watching this today since I was out yesterday. This week starts off awesome!!
I 100% agree with this topic. The music in classic videogames transports me back to a simple time in my youth. The firmament is broken to time and space. Great Video
Rob man - you're a man after my own heart. I love playing a retro and modern game side by side. In a way I think it can accentuate the best parts of both - incredible graphics, excitement and ease of access on the one hand and pure imagination, creativity and depth on the other!
Glad to see you're doing so good!
just hooked up the old Gamecube. very much enjoying the chat as i play some random oldies
It's always so much fun to see Johnny and Rob together :)
Personally i love my jrpgs for their story and characters. Turn based or action based, i like them both
Have you played a Tales game? Story is so captivating.
@@reidcircuits826 i played and finished vesperia in the Xbox 360 era, but i didn't really enjoy the story so I haven't touched a tales game since. But I might give arise a chance
I like jrpgs for the music, those soundtracks make jrpgs what they are for me. Then come gameplay and characters since those are important too.
Wild Arms has always been a favorite since childhood! I also think about it all the time. Wild Arms 2 doesn't get talked about nearly enough, either. Such an amazing series. :)
The thumbnail is everything to me! HAHAHA nice one!
how the hell could you ollie in Doc Martens?! That's some serious shit right there lol
Just playing FF7 - for the first time - so that I can fully appreciate Remake when I come to play it ✌
That's awesome dude. I wish I could go back in time and play the original game again for the first time. Plus you'll get more out of the remake when you finally get around to it
@@derekhart410 yes i would argue ... that upon completion, that its actually essential to have played the original. And perhaps even essential to have watched the film and have some idea at least of the events of Before Crisis and DoC ...
So good to see you guys geek out about gaming. It helps to bring me to my younger days.
What an interesting synchronicity. I just started playing through Wild Arms again.
Johnny please more retro talk with Rob. Would love to hear more about the super bomberman tournaments you guys used to have
Love the Robmam episodes. Never played Wild Arms, but maybe it’s time to boot up the PS Classic and give it a go. Music sounds great!
Rob, I hope your chair is comfy and I'm glad you're still around for chats. Keep your head up!
I like how rob described the ff7 remake. More of watching a story than being apart of one. I still loves it tho
Wild Arms was one of the best game standing beside Suikoden 1 and 2 during Playstation 1 era
I'm a friend of super Derek amazing video you did together 😄
So few people, when talking about FF7R, talk about just how amazing the music is in that game. They not only made the music sound incredible, but they also used it in amazing ways. The game has perfectly crafted experiences which drop each element in perfectly chosen points in time that even something as simple as a boss theme coming in was enough to give me goosebumps.
Kimagure Orange Road, I loved that show as a kid.
When Rob Man said ‘it’s so pretty’ the face he made and voice reminded me of Bubbles from trailer park boys. Keep up the great laid back videos dudes.
Happy to see Rob Man and seems to be doing well! Hope all is well with Rob Man!
Also, love the Wild Arms! Been thinking of busting out the ol PS1 as well......got an itch as well!
My experience with Wild Arms, I extremely love that game! One of my favorites on the original PlayStation. I remember popping that game in and getting into a battle for the first time thinking “Whoa! I’m looking at a claymation style battle scene!” It felt, played, and looked so good. That game is still beautiful to this day!
Never clicked so fast in my life!
Always love the videos of y'all together! I purchased Phantasy Star on my Switch of the Sega Ages collection because of watching your channel!
Man...I love Wild Arms. That OST. I always tear up with that opening music track/movie. Reminder. Wild Arms released in North America a couple months before FF7
I think Tim Rogers compared the Dragon Quest games to a bedtime story and I couldn't agree more. Pure comfort food and like cuddling up with your favorite blanket. Really hope it remains turn-based.
always nice seeing Rob in you're videos👍👍
The fun about RPG's to me....after you played your fighting games and action games, you could just kick back and play at a slower pace. Fun episode guys!
I'm a simple man, I see Robman i click like.
It’s always exciting to hear what Rob has been up to!! I hope everything has been going better for him since his accident!
Love seen you guys just chatting real best friends here
Happy to see more Rob Man!
Yeah I hate that games are getting rid of turn-based combat more and more. Dragon Quest was one of the last ones left too.
I've been playing PSO2NGS as well so I'm looking forward to your episode on it.
Really happy to see you guys together again! Great episode!
I enjoy watching you rob and johnny
I love turn base game. Suikoden, Wild Arms, Star Ocean, Grandia, and Lunar series. The more SE is heading toward action, the more I look elsewhere. Sega, Atlus, and a few others will quenched my thirst.
Star Ocean isn't turn-based.
"I was in the console war you know"
"I know granddad, you've said. Now take your pills and I'll let you play Xbox X"
"I ain't playin' no American system!"
**Throws cane at the nurse**
"Hey Mom Man, Dad Man!! Rob Man is back!!"
The best part of waking up on Sunday! A new HCG video!!
Action real time combat. FF7R was a fantastic surprise. I did play the original back on the original PlayStation. But I love the design in Remake, better than the original. The flow, inertia, design, and combat style + 🎵🎶 was fantastic.
Always fun to see you two gents get together
Wild Arms was a fantastic gem. That opening, the in game world, and 🎶🎵
RPGs have come a long way
Ppl forget how good it is to go back and play the golden Era of jrpgs
Wild Arms is an amazing game, i loved it since the day it came out, and still play it sometimes. One of my all time favorites.
Great to see Rob Man again! I have an urge to play Wild Arms again now…
Always good to see Robman recovering well
Wild Arms 1 OST HELL YEAH! Great episode guys
I always love when Rob on the show.
What's up Rob Man and HappyConsoleGamer! Excellent episode! Always love watching your videos!
It's always good to see you guys together.
Welcome back Rob Man! Have you two ever thought about doing a podcast? Would be great to have regular catch-ups when you can’t get together on video!
My wife put on Wild Arms sometime last year ... she'd never played it, heard of it or anything ... and she was hooked! So it has quality beyond it just being nostalgia :)
Chess is pretty good tho ;)
Love you two! Hope you're both doing ok, great video, a lot of laughs 😊
Robman is getting equipped! Get ready!
Great video guys! Always love when you two get together for games chat!
You guys are the best... Love when you get together and chat...
The jacket and glasses are your signature look!
The best for you rob.
Best regards from Portugal
I really thought that was Cloud sitting next to Rob for second in that thumbnail. 😂
@@JulesNekro 😂
You guys are amazing. Never f*cking change
I played FF7 remake earlier this year and it was amazing. I decided to play through the original again. Something I hadn't done since summer of 98. Just started disc 2. Feels awesome to go back to!
This needed to be an hour, at minimum! You guys are great. I also feel age creeping up on me. Not quite as open minded as Johnny, but I’m still gaming. Thanks guys!
Nostalgia is a hell of a drug. 😉
Yuuuuuup
I saw ff7r and i clicked
I think Dragon Quest has done such a good job at moving grander ideas for innovation into spin-offs to keep the traditions in mainline. I think if we got an action rpg dragon quest it would probably follow suit and be a spin-off rather than a mainline game.
I have the same fear of dragon quest becoming another action rpg!!! Please square keep it turn based. Good tô see you guys together again.
I happened across dragon quest 11 sometime last year following one of your videos. Man it really scratched that awesome old school turn based JRPG itch. I totally hear you about the possibilities of Dragonquest 12. Please just leave us one awesome modern turn based JRPG!
I wish i could like it twice! Thanks for the video!
I loved Wild Arms as well. Unique for its time.
Sometimes simple is best when you want to just kick back, chill, and game.
Thumbnail made me lose my shit w/ Cloud superimposed as Johnny's domepiece. Fucking ridiculous lol 😂
Wild Arms is one of those games that just bring you back in time. Such a great game. Lunar SSSC is another one that does that for me.
Wild Arms means so much to me, it was one of the first RPGs I played on the PS1
It was such a magical journey. I was only 12.
You seem like such nice people...🙏🤗🤙
YES I completely agree with you Rob please don't get rid of turn based games in JRPG, even though I do play action JRPG like ''Tales of'' & love it and I was sceptical at first about turn based games when I started gaming but now I love it so much I just how they don't go away ever also great to see again in Game Chat with Rob
Nostalgia is a weird thing. I totally get it. Game music, friends, family good times. I always try to live in the moment to and make new memories.
Love Rob Man’s Skeletor shirt!!
I really hope that Square doesn't fuck up Dragon Quest's combat system with XII, but I have a feeling that they will.
