First video on youtube showing the real use of the dbx160 on drums... just to extract the attack. Then you can blend that attack with the original snare and kick sound. Cheers from Bs. As. Argentina.

Your voice sounds so much better through the sm58 man, whatever re20/rode/pod caster/end fire mic is, is suffering proximity effect bad, it needs a a low end shelf down 3-4db or move the mic away a few feet, but generally it's a lot nastier sounding too.

Ha! I have been surprised that until now you are the first person that has called this out. When I was making this video and the other two video's on the DBX 560a and the 160a vs the 560 something happened to the audio feed when I was recording the head shots. I was attempting to get out a lot of video fast at the time. I had resigned myself that the audio was unusable and I'd need to re-record it. I put in a few minutes of repair work and made it "passable" Unfortunately for me the DBX 560a video has become one of my most popular so I don't want to remove it and hurt my view count:) If you hear some of my other early videos with the re-20 you will hear that it is indeed a fine mic:) Thanks for the feedback.
