It amazes me to see someone has actually hit the thumbs down button, coz even if you didn’t like the this type of music, this guy is such an amazing guitarist. Love it Josh 💃🎶💃🎶
I'm a bass player who plays a little guitar on the side. I want to get better on guitar I was completely unfamiliar with Josh. I'm so blown away by how well he plays, how educated he is about music, his range and how he is able to articulate musical concepts. I did not expect that from looking at him. What a incredible person. I love this guy. I will go over this video, see what I can get out of it, look for his CDs and probably sign up for his course
You can run but you cant hide.... When I saw Josh for the first time 14ish years ago, I knew this great guy would be a huge inspiration for many many people. Such a humble honest, straightforward human being, and goshjosh... what an artist!!!!
I almost like listening to Josh talk about guitar as much as I like listening to him play. Not quite but he's really good at explaining his ideas. Thumbs up Josh and TrueFire!
TrurFire, thank you, thank you. Josh, I have enjoyed this so much. You are so humble to be so talented. I feel like I met you years ago and now we are friends. You are that kind of guy
just found josh and i can already tell this is the first guy that explains things in a way i can get. i play almost every weekend on stage in front of people mostly improvising. His break down of how to play through changes makes sense. Its been one of my biggest struggles is finding those phrasings and a way to think about it that makes sense.
Your discussion about choosing solo solutions such as using turnaorunds, chromatic passages, diminished and/or augmented choices are great. My problem is finding those choices fast enough to make them usable, where they sound connected to the progression as opposed to just thrown in. This is very hard. You mentioned scatting or singing and copying those melodies. That's great. I'm going to try that. However, what other tools can I use to get there. Great Video. Thanks
Josh Smith is the man you need to listen to, quit Bonamassa, Christone kingfish and such, not close to the tasteful timing, feel, rhythm and soloing skills of this man. A master.
I have been listening to Josh for a while. And I just realized that it’s a pair of sunglasses on the 12th fret of his Chapin! I always thought it was paisleys. 🤘🤠🤘
This cat is off the charts talented !! Old timers he jammed with as a kid used to be super hard on him.....Look/Listen to what came out the other side. And not even 40yrs old yet. Man's going to have a major mark on guitar playing.
This didn't help me at all with learning how to play but I can tell you that after a 12 hour day working my arse off I would be asleep 10 minutes into a planned half-hour work out. It just happened every time. It didn't do anything for my progress but so be it. :)
I know this may not be so important to a lot of players but when you are going to make a video class which we are so grateful for, believe me especially these guys!, just clean up your guitar nicely. Is this pointless bc just getting it onto your body it gets fingerprints again? i don't think of myself as OCD about this, IT JUST COULD LOOK MORE SPIFFY...which matches up with their unique talents they worked so hard to achieve!!
josh just forgets to say that to get this stage of playing what you feel, hear or imagine in real time, you have to have absolute control of harmony, neck, and intervals, and that takes thousands of years ahahahah
The interviewer is a little annoying. He over romanticises things a lot instead of focusing on asking really valid, really good questions that really make the interview better.

There a lot of haters in the world that have no respect for truly talented people. Jealously is a vicious thing
We will find this person and cancel them
Thumbs down? sheesh. There's always one idiot that just has to do that.
Im gonna go out on a limb and say someone probably hit it by accident.
F...them losers ..this person that hits the thumbs down probably lives a miserable life....josh is a stellar musician PERIOD!

I love Josh Smith, really talented and an honest player, he's gold.

I love listening to Josh
His straight on approach to blues is very recognizable and yet authentic in a simplistic way, if that makes sense.
Man Josh hits it right on the nail! I love his thought process and way of thinking.
Josh; I am here right now to play and improv.
Me; I am here to eat this cookie and watch.
Thanks Josh. A steady, non-stop flow of tasteful licks. Loved it. When are you coming back to visit FT Lauderdale. We miss you

Seen Josh and Tom Quayle playing together live. Was awesome!
Good to see a video of Josh being Josh instead of those Fender ads that looked like hostage videos that made him read from cue cards. LOL!
Tasty B.B. King with some modern seasoning intro. Nice.

Truefire is the most amazing resource. I could spend my entire remaining life on their site. Josh smokes obviously...

A "great guitar" the man got Style of his owner talents. Truely one that knows "heart on sleeve "

Josh is the Muhammad Ali of guitar.
It amazed me Duane Allman was so young and talented..

ci sono 7 meglio di lui . QUELLI CHE HANNO MESSO POLLICE VERSO UHAUAHUHAHU
The host talks too much. I love hearing talk and play.
Blistering....
The interviewer is a little annoying. He over romanticises things a lot instead of focusing on asking really valid, really good questions that really make the interview better.
The interview stinks. Josh rules. They should have had someone better to run the interview.
I disagree.. I think the interviewer is pretty good.
The host talks way too much
