Grand Theft Auto 5. GTA 5.
it was hilarious back in the day to invite people into my apartment and then call a stripper over. most people didn’t know you can do that lmao
Most people didn't know you could pickup a lady off the street in a convertible and go into an alley and pay her for the services, then have your friends run around the corner real fast and start taking selfies of the deed in action while standing on the car.
Fun times man, fun times.
I remeber doing that it was fun
Same thing with yacht
@@jimrustle643I was on yesterday just free roaming and i happened upon a player parked in an alley with a lady of the night who was dispensing her services.
I molotovd them in the vehicle
@@JustDaniel6764cleanse them of their sins 🔥
Rooftop Rumble used to pay out about $18,000. All the contact missions had set payouts back then. Certain missions payed out more but weren't necessarily harder or took longer to complete. Rockstar literally changed the mission payout system to time-based, because so many players would just grind the highest paying missions, for hours on end, myself included.
I thought it was 25k payout per mission in the beginning
Yeah, it used to actually be 25K, and you could restart the job right from the lobby menu 😂
it also was $30000 at one point
It was 30k all day
75k was the first payout
The one thing the 2013-2015 players will remember is the prime of GTA. No flying bikes, no jets (Unless you took it from the base), no orb cannon and more. GTA is still fun but prime was something else... Just getting home from school telling your friend to get on and make money and fight at the beach. Times have changed
actually, we did have jets ogs would steal them from the base and go around griefing also, if you were know anything about the game back in 2013 we had Battle of Whiskey River jet dogfight so that proves you don’t really know what you’re talking about
@@sofii_ds3 You didn't read my comment it said "No jets (UNLESS you took it from the base)"
For real I miss it so much
*You* think times have changed? When I got home from school GTA 3 wasn't even out yet. It was all split screen Goldeneye and AIM.
We DREAMED of jets and flying bikes.
Man i miss the days without the ridiculous vehicles! I hope they go without them on 6 because it would be so much better
I remember doing rooftop rumble 24/7 😂. Having my first million dollars was such a big milestone back then, I kinda miss the old GTA Online ngl 😮💨
We all gettin in the feels lol we know that goated time is about over and we cant get it back!
Im honestly concerned for the future of GTA. But we shall see
I used to time myself to see if I can do it faster and faster I think my quickest time was 4 minutes 😂
I remember when players used to bitch about the rhino tank and the fighter jet. If they only knew the rhino tank was nothing compared to what was coming soon.
At least you can dodge the tank the oppressor is so annoying
@@KOSHIFROMTHEROC skill issue
@g.e.d299 I don't worry about it I got a Virtue they get mad trying to hit me
@@g.e.d299 skill issue when I crash your game
@@goinoutlikegeez mhm yeah ok, but there weren’t as many good weapons to deal with tanks back then.
I remember when the Zentorno dropped along with the Heists update, I took a day off School to do the Fleeca Job 🤣
I’m pretty sure the zentorno dropped wayyyy before heists did
Nope they were update vehicles @@ThurlPolo
It was an update car but it wasn’t the heist update
@@succfuse3061 Then your memory is lying to you.
The Zentorno was part of the High Life Update released in May 2014 and the Heists update wasn't released until March 2015, nearly a year after.
Load times were fixed by a fan btw , he sent it r* which ended up helping us all
no way💀
Only on the PC version I think
@@derpeth2101 yeah his site is still in search of google I visited it by accident it was fantastic
@derpeth2101 I think they implemented for console. I remember getting a short update on the day it went viral
rock-star only gave him like 10k...
I remember playing prison break with randoms too many times
Still doing that often 😂
Lvl 14 pilots still keep fucking it up though
Still it's Happening Bro😂
No
The one constant that'll never change, someone out there right now is struggling to finish prison break
OGs remember how random explosion on the lobby meant a player with a Tank and was scared shitless. Even worse when they were camping your garage door and the exiting animation played with it just standing there
I remember Rooftop Rumble used to have a 25k payout. Before the patch, you could just blow up the briefcase and pass the mission in less than a minute
Bro exactly! Also, when it was double or triple pay on missions and Rooftop Rumble was on the list.
That was before they reworked the mission to have the briefcase be in a getaway car
the boneyard survival was another go-to for us back in the day. 2 of us would hide behind the trailer near the wall, and another would hide behind the stack of wood next to it and just go to town. we'd also do the prison race a ton too. the good ol' days lol
Who remembers the deathmatch mode where you had to dodge jumping armored cars on a bridge trying to hit you while shooting rockets at the armored cars?
Sounds like a version of “rpg vs insurgents” . It can be an awesome game mode if you’re playing with an honest group of players.
@@87ThirdGen my man!!! That's the game!!! I spent endless hours playing chicken with those insurgents 😂🤣
I miss that so much
My favorite was stunters vs snipers
@@6FGX9 I loved this
It is a wicked game mode for sure!! It’s hard to get enough players to make it real fun now though :(
Titan of a Job mission is pure nostalgia for me from OG days
Was looking for this comment, titan of a job is an absolute blast from the past
Yep! December 2014 when they had 2XP, me and my friend Austin at the time would run it up everyday. 5/6 times for almost half a mill a day, great times. Hard to believe that was almost 10 years ago
20 something year old TGG is starting to feel it, what getting old? Dude I was 31 when it was released, I'm 42 now, you don't know old, yet, but you will, one day 😉😂
i was 44 when it came out..ugh..
@danparker1976 dude you'll nearly be 60 by the time gta 6 hits thr shelves.
Omg, we have a grandpa here!
Alr unc
Wow dude. I hope you're still a fan of GTA online. Especially when GTA 6 comes out😂
0:45 back then modders were good people doing gods work 😢
Except most of the times, it resulted in you getting your account banned/reset. I remember it being one of the ways modders would troll players. They would spawn on random players and just start dropping tons of money around them, making it impossible for the players to avoid picking up the money. And since those players would be obtaining large amounts of money much faster than possible in the game, it would trigger the anti-cheat systems and result in your account getting banned or reset by RockStar unless you could prove that it was a modder trolling you.
I remember I had a 100 million bounty put on me and I left the lobby. Had a ton of messages of people calling me a pussy for leaving😂
i would’ve done the same lmao
💀
nobody getting paid
I had a bounty on me for around that amount of money or possibly way more, I stayed in my apartment for the 45 minutes it takes for you to get the money. I had people waiting outside my apartment sending me messages too telling me to stop being a bitch and fight for the money lmaoo. I was like fuck you mean fight for it, I’m not taking any chances
Lmaoo
Rooftop Rumble was bugged back in the day, if you blew up the deal and destroyed the package you still got thousands of dollars, we didnt play the mission through we just spawned in and tossed some grenades
The grind was definitely real back in the day 😅
Personally I started GTA very late and missed all the hype when the game was released but I'm so happy that I am here now to experience all of that for GTA 6
Same I started rly late prob 3yrs 😂 I'm lvl 350 and completed the game glitches but I don't do missions I just griefed 😭😭 I was best at sniping and dogfighting 😂
Bro Same I started playing back in mid 2021. I've never played back then but I am very happy to witness what gta was like back then
Do not worry. I officially started playing GTA 5 on December 2023. Although I played GTA 5 often on my friends house when I was little, I learned more when I got it the last year. It's a matter of enjoying the game, having fun, entertaining yourself, being amazed and perplexed about it's small and fun details. Truly an amazing game. RDR2 is also a relatively recent top-notch game of Rockstar.
@@TheFounderAdministrator same I played gta on my older cousins ps4 and I regret when fortnite came out I didn't wanna play it now I love fn 💪😭
@@Sira144hzyh same. i got it around 2018 but i’m level 530 or something😂 i made memories on there too and watched my uncle make memories as i watched him play it on his PS3
Rooftop rumble is encoded in my life, not gta character, I religiously played that mission holy hell you took me back
1:55 I remember my character getting deleted too, didn’t play again until 2020 when I finally made another 😂
I still remember on my 360 account I begged a modder to give me billions of dollars 😂. He did then I filled up my garage up with T20s.
I first played GTA Online as soon as the servers went up in 2013. Of course they then got overloaded, but that's a different story. I actually managed to go a couple of years without getting modded money because I was trying to earn all those expensive cars legitimately. Then someone on the PC figured out a mod to give everyone in the lobby millions of GTA Dollars instantly and I was like, well I guess I'll buy that massive waste of money called a yatch now.
I stopped playing gta online in early 2015, the things I remember the most are swiming down waterfalls and doing off road trails on mt chilliad with some friends
Remember when you were able to press replay on missions, so before they ruined the pay for Rooftop Rumble you could just keep replaying rooftop gaining 25K+
4:10 i rememebr doing rooftop rumble that waiting when u went to madrazos house for like 10 mins cuz u would get extra money
You just brought back memories LMAO
damn this was post patch rooftop rumble, crazy how long this mission was used
Back in 2013-2015 the pistol was literally the best weapon in the game. It would almost always one tap someone to the head and if you were good at rolling you would literally dominate the deathmatch lobby.
Yeah I remember 2013 all right when I first had the game when it just released for my ps3 I was so excited and when I tried playing online for the very first time I had tried multiple attempts but eventually got on I was 13 now I'm 23 turning 24 so when gta6 releases I'll be 25 waw
It Really A long Time Journey for you Bro hatsoff🎉
Completely the same for me. Also born in 2000 brother 😎
the chrome adder brought back a memory 😂😂
I just remember how big of a game GTA 5 was when it came out, like it was every where.
I just miss how simple and new it was where we only had tanks and jets or we played races and custom jobs it was just special.
Crazy it’s been a decade…
Here to stop kids saying zero views in zero seconds
Edit: Holy shites 432likes?

Ft its annoying to see
No
Fr
Thank you
I miss the old rooftop rumble days. Sure it was tedious but it was simple. 18,750 was what i remember being paid before they changed the cash payouts and i played it on loop for literal hours. I used to invite my friends who weren’t a high enough level to host the job themselves. Pretty much everything on this list is something I remember and I really miss these days. I always hated when the mechanic would steal my car when he delivered it though.
Rooftop Rumble was the sh1t back then, I remember giving and getting mad invites to that mission
*sigh*
The good ol days
Man back in the day we were a group of 5 grinding different missions like A Titan of A Job, Rooftop Rumble and a bunch of races. Our goal was to all get a Tank. I didn’t ever really play in Public sessions back then and now so I’ve never witnessed the carnage. But when we all had the Tanks we popped into an open lobby, called em in and wrecked almost everyone. I remember in some lobby’s there was a singular tank “griefing” but then our squad came along and bullied them out of the session. Good times.
The Money Glitch was the best😭🔥🔥
The worst thing was calling in the Mechanic 😂 I also remember all the damn glitches, like getting Story mode cars into online lobbies. Or trying to get the Asea (Lester’s car) by creating a second character and having ur friend hold onto it in a lobby.
I got the notification for this video whilst listening to change of coast by Neon Indian at work.. weird. But a good weird.
On the contrary to what most people think, I really like the Chrome paint job on cars. Whenever I sell one from the veichle warehouse or would deliver to Simeon at the docks I apply chrome and pretend the car is a prototype.
I still occasionally steal a laser from zancudo just for the fun, despite owning loads of my own planes including the Hydra and raiju
I remember reaching rank 100 for the first time while grinding Rooftop Rumble over and over with a group of 4. I remember there was another popular grinding mission that took place at a cove, called Coveted. Gosh those were the days
i miss 2013, i was the modder giving people money and accounts back then i made so much real money in the process. but giving away free money always made me feel good
I miss the loading theme, one downside to fast loading times is that you don’t get to hear it that much. But you know you were cooked when the theme went on for too long 💀💀
I took long, looong breaks from GTA online, but started the month after it launched, I remember most of this and miss none of it! Awesome video though, and thanks for the nostalgia! If I can recall anything that's missing here, it would be Jerry Canning players cars to avoid paying the insurance! That was the ultimate payback against griefers!
I started playing in December 2013 and it was absolutely fantastic and more enjoyable than today. It was such a different time; where gaming and society probably peaked.
I was still in high school at the time and I played it on most of my off weekends. I met some great guys in GTA online. I'm still friends with some of them today! We've kept in contact all these years and its awesome.
I remember how my friends and I would take selfies of us doing the most random shit.
I remember there was a time when seeing a tank appear on the map made everyone want to leave lol . Tanks were scary as hell back then lol
Other than losing a character, literally every single one of these man. So much nostalgia. I'll never forget waking up an hour early for school the morning GTA Online finally released, so I could make my character and explore real quick. Almost missed the bus because I didn't except the intro to be so long with Lamar. The good ol days
Also, I miss when fun player-made modes came out like Rockets vs Insurgents, that was also so fun
I remember early in my GTA:O days, barely level 30 or so, some random player gifted me some $25,000,000. It was enough to buy the nicer apartment, add some cars to the garage, and basically provide a little baseline foundation for me to really dive into Online.
I gave up whenever they introduced the Bunker or whatever. The grind simply got too tedious. Ironically, free money didn't make the game boring - it actually made the game more accessible.
A few buddies of mine and I powered through the heists when they dropped in 2015. I would jump into public contact missions with an Insurgent for a while and have people asking me how I got it, how much it cost etc.
Vehicles you unlocked from heists back then just didn't show up on the website until you unlocked them. Felt kinda cool lol
I remeber EARLY on when you died, you lost all your ammo and $2,000 it was later changed too $500 and then what ever it is now. But I remeber robbing a store. Making $1500 dying to cops and having no money.
Mannn, I’m a OG GTA member the grind was real asf back then 💯
i remember when online dropped and u couldn’t join a lobby or anything for a week or so because there were so many people trying to play all at once
I remember stealing the lazer on day one. I remember seeing a player around the corner, you would go around it and they'd be waiting for you in a Rhino. The lazer was the best way to kill them. I had tanks hiding in the tunnel on the freeway by the beach so they wouldn't get blown up. Flying that titan nonstop.
Johnny on the Spot never caused me any issues, he was a true one a kind guy, handled my Dominator so so well
I’d want to say aswell the map icons were white dots. Or red skulls for bounties. You couldn’t tell if someone was in a tank or not, you simply drove around the wrong corner and found out the hard way
First couple weeks was single player only, you couldn’t even go online. And when online started, you couldn’t even get a lobby. Casino wasn’t even open, and a buzzard was a legit way to get revenge.
No mk2s no orbital jets were only from stealing them at the military. Grinding rooftop rumble and getting the eclipse tower and then a 10 car garage of super cars. Watching vanoss posting the best videos I’ve seen come out of gta. Holy shit i was in the good days and I didn’t even know to appreciate it.
You talked about the crate drops but remember the special crate drops which had exclusive items like the soda hats and special shirts you could only obtain from those crates, and you wouldn’t know what item was in them until you picked it up. Can’t believe this game’s been with me all the way from elementary school to the end of bachelor’s…
( 3:59 ) Rooftop Rumble payed about $30,000,- if you played it on hard, and waited a bit til the mission past 5 minutes to go and deliver to Martin Madrasso.
I remember the match making far too well. I stayed in the clouds for almost an hour before it finally loaded me into a session before dying by some random player.
0:22 should make bounties for NPC Gangsters with different difficulties daily to earn decent side money
Rooftop Rumble & Los Santos Connection from Lester as well as Titan of a Job (also used for glitches back then) MAN what a time!
Back then you had to make a lot of the fun yourself. I remember doing glitches that would launch you across the city over and over to entertain myself. And then grinding out survival missions for some cash. Game is entirely different now
“No, Patricia, no. I’m playing golf. Golf! FORE!!! You’re being hysterical. It’s the menopause again, that never happened. I’m afraid I cannot be spoken to like that. No, golf, golf, I tell you!” Mumbles in Spanish
Yeah I must be really old because everything you described in the video I remember dearly cuz I played this game since 2013 as well but I did take a year off from playing the game.
awesome video man
Only real ogs remember coveted.
My favorite strat with the rhino tank was to pick an NPC tank up from the base. Drive down to players and drop it near them. It's still law enforcement so it would chase anyone with a wanted level. Hearing people rage because a tank kept rolling up and killing them was gold 😆. It would still work now, but rhino tanks are easy to take out so it's not as fun.
i also miss the beer hats drops and everyone in the lobby fighting to get one
Out of everything on this list, being able to give your friends money was my favorite feature that I’m still sad about today they removed 💔
11:13 Ocelot Jackal & Gallivanter Baller every 45 min was another hustle
I remember doing Rooftop Rumble a million times to save up for a Rhino Tank to fight off the trolls in the Zentorro.
I also remember some Random called Merryweather on me. I fought them off and was able to get the Mesa Jeep in my garage long before it was purchasable.
I remember when there were no vehicle icons. So you didn't know a person was in a tank until you turned the corner. 😂😂😂 man, I loved it.
If you played gta online from launch on xbox360 or PlayStation 3 the online came out a week after the campaign and I was grinding races the first few months, before even rooftop rumble, small circle race around the prison would get you completely broken payouts around 20-30k for 2-3 laps if you placed high enough was good at the beginning
Dude the xp glitch!!
Starting in 2014-15 they started to mod cars, and that was the prime for me.
This golden point where you could save the Police Sherriff SUV in your garage and customize the paint (no glitches, I guess they missed that one) and also have a few billion dollars.... but nothing beat the black sovereign I had
yes when the sovereign came out I found a modder who could take off the American livery and make it matte black, as well as tint the glass black.
I would buy gta 5 ten more times if we could drive that again
I was 10 in 2013 and wasn’t allowed to play violent video games. I did it until I had an Xbox in 2021 already 18 and played it already 8 years late and passed its prime. But I’m still playing it alone and finding out what all the fuss was about and despite the developers getting old in 2013, now everyone is old, not just rockstar.
I still remember the money mini guns, awesome times, but yeah gta online now is so much more than it was, just came back and breath of fresh air
Remember :
0. The bounty’s, Mercenary and stealing their cars as a trophy
1.Glitching cars from story to online,
(Like the duke of death)
2.Rockstar adding bombs to cars so they where useless.
3.Rooftop rumble in 10secs (you could blow up the Coke mission passed, this was patched real quick)
4. Buzzards being way stronger and actually respawn ,after replaying the same mission.
5. being able to replay the same mission.
6. Coveted mission (which is now removed , I still have it in my playlist)
7. No annoying oppressors
8. Annoying jets (sometimes, but hell these dudes could fly)
9. Difficult missions actually paying way more (now patched into time taken max time 15mins is maximum payout, previous this was a set amount)
10. the mechanic delivering a Buzzard 😂 LMAO
11. Call Lester cops turn blind eye , and steal a Tank or plane
12. Actually fighting someone in a tank with a RPG
13.People actually driving cars!
14. Playing the heist when they finally dropped, on hard completing the elite challenge.
Back then loads of people were joining.
You could even get the Karuma out of the garage during the last heist.
(It took rockstar years to fix that)😂
What am I missing ?
I remember back in 2013 that I grinded hard for the house near the beach( it was one of the cheapest) and I had an Sentinal cabriolet, that I stole and made mine. I remember being happy that I have grinded hard to get that place and the car as well. it was like ''a life' in some kind of a way.
The "bullet proof" Zentorno is what really gave me a great flashback, I still find it hard to believe that we've been playing this game for almost eleven years and I'm excited to see GTA VI improve upon this legacy.
1:20 these load times weren't even fixed until a couple of years ago, discovered by some modder
thx for the trip down memories lane bro it was great hearing about the old days again
back in 2013 there was a way to take out a tank. youd have to go far enough away from it, and shoot where the player sits with a sniper. something about it's too far away so the amor isnt working. i know it's more complicated than that i just dont know enough about the technical side of games to explain it properly 😂😂
Remember when we finally got our first heist! My God the amount of times people kept dying😫😫
Ish seemed like the hardest ish in the world 😂😂
Thumbnail couldn’t be truer. Seeing all this stuff makes me feel old even though I was like 9-10 when online first launched and when I first started playing. Old Gen were the good old days. I’m glad they got rid of the dumbass mechanic, I’ve had many fist fights with that mfer. I also remember being the best lazer pilot in every lobby, basically lived in the damn thing. I started playing again back in 2019, and it was okay, but it’s just not the same. I just kinda quit playing by the contract update in 2022, kinda sad. Thanks for bringing so much memories back to me. Cheers. And to anyone out there from the ps3 days that’s reading this, it’s ato20200 and thanks for the memories and for one of the best online game experiences I’ve ever had.
when i was on xbox360 several years back (i forget exactly when) a modern teleported me to him on mount chiliad and gave me 300+mill, it was amazing
So much nostalgia! I remember Rockstar gifting $500k to everyone that played in the first month because it was such a buggy release. That’s how I went from sleeping in my car to my eclipse tower apartment.
Back in the day. Changing your DNS was fun. I abused it every now and then and I was never banned
It's difficult for me to grasp how different 2013 GTA online was because I joined 10 years later. I wish I could have gotten the chance to experience public lobbies without pesky flying vehicles causing hell from above. With that said, I don't miss how rough and unpolished the game was back then. Bothersome bugs and extremely long loading times. Limited methods to make money. The game is much better nowadays even with the flying vehicles and other things that annoy current day players. The best thing about modern GTA Online is there are so many ways to make money. In 2013 players had a good reason to buy shark cards. Now you can just grind an assortment of business contract missions for paydays that were unimaginable in 2013.
At that time I used to do a lot more races and deathmatches and that's mostly how I got the money and RP until I gave up GTA Online after I couldn't complete the heists and those that could became much more powerful due to the money made and the new vehicles they could but. I bought a PS5 and when they launched GTA V again to that console I decided to come back and man, everything is so much different now. I mostly play in invite-only lobbies now because of the Oppressor MK II griefers. My only goal is to go by every DLC I've missed and then wait for GTA VI
Phone>Call Lester>Cops Turn Blind Eye>Jump Zancudo Fence>Grief other players with a jet
The good old days
Man i grinded those bank trunks so much. Yall remember gta online on ps3 when it was free??? Now they make u pay 10$ to play a game online u already paid for.
The modded Sentinel XS you mention at 11:23 were not on Xbox 360 or PS3, those were introduced on XB1 and PS4. Only the gang vehicles were on the first version of the game.
I used to have so much fun on GTA online when it first came out! It became so over the top with the weaponized vehicles and businesses I had to give it a rest
Titan of a job was my go to for money grinding back in the day. when the Karuma came out we were all so mad we didnt have it earlier
Survival mode was another stable way to make cash back then if you could bear the 10 rounds.
There was also a feature at one point where you would also earn rp for singing on the mic when your character showered 😂😂
I remember rp glitches with the capture missions. Picking up the flags, getting a helicopter and float above the drop zone
Back when even buying a random car from the shop felt amazing . It's the same feeling for finding players with 85+ overrall on fifa packs back then vs now
OG DNS lobbies were crazy, or the tank being the only weaponized vehicle, the amount of times id get friends to set a bounty on me while i roam around in a tank for an unsuspecting guy in a cheetah or entity to pull up and try claim the bounty
I had a Rhino pretty early. Had some griefers messing with me out in the desert. Killed me 6 or 7 times. I got away and came back with a vengeance. Went full on Battlefield 3 mode with that tank until they both quit out of the lobby.
I remember 2013 the crew races… millions of dollars in payouts. I still got 6 billion til this day from then. Got every car back then and cribs.
Lets not forget Coveted. Just deliver the cargo crate very close by instead of going to the mission marker and that was an easy mission passed. Then just replay the mission over and over.
