    • @teddygetsthegold
      @teddygetsthegold  Месяц назад +1

      I answered this in another comment, lmk if you still want me to do a video: “First of all congrats on getting the job! Yeah so it's pretty simple and for apple its definitely no a budget issue, they just want to make sure they keep the right people. First tip is to always be on time (to work, from breaks/lunch breaks), if you think you will be late please message the red phone (you'll know what that is soon) ahead of time. Second, don't call out last minute unless it really is an emergency, give them a heads up and talk to people in person rather than calling, it just looks better on you. Third, make sure to keep the enthusiasm and good attitude, even if you have a difficult situation keep calm, infront of managers just be happy and talk to them. Fourth, get personal with employees, talk to them when you see they are free, get personal because the more they like you the more your name will be out there and also you get to make great friends. Lastly, ask for help when you need it, don't try to be a hero (mostly with phones) or if you have questions ask them because you don't want to be caught up in a big issue with a customer or carrier business. I asked questions all the times to the veterans, they don't find it annoying unless it really is dumb but if its loans, carrier deals, financing, apple care, etc... ask because you don't want to be in a pickle and the managers will see that you are using your resources. Sorry last one, but take leadership sometimes, if 2 people called out when its closing and there is only 1-3 people closing volunteer to stay longer and help them, one you get more money and two they will love the initiative! Sorry for the long response, but that should be everything, don't stress about all of these, they will come naturally, the only one to really focus on is the late and calling out part, that will even get you fired after a few warnings so don't get there. Lmk if you have any other questions and GOOD LUCK!!!”

      @@teddygetsthegold Thank you so much! I have a semester left then I graduate in December. My major is Information Technology with a minor in Computer Science. I’ve been applying for Apple for a while now because I love Apple Products and also because I would like to be more involved in Technology itself and I finally got my wish so hopefully everything works out. In the email that I received from Apple, it says “Seasonal” and that’s it

    • @teddygetsthegold
      @teddygetsthegold  2 месяца назад

      Yeah seasonal is pretty much part-time and you’re in school so makes sense. We literally have the exact same situation I started working my 2 last semesters of college. Damn IT and CS your resume will look good with Apple on it! Yeah it’s fun working there but a little more than I expected, maybe it was my location but they change management styles out of nowhere and expect highly but again it’s the biggest company in the world with the best customer experience rating so pretty expected

    • @teddygetsthegold
      @teddygetsthegold  2 месяца назад +1

      @B1GBRZY oh no I’m an accounting major, I tried getting a full time or internship at Apple but it is really hard. Something that almost worked and if you get the job I 100% recommend is when you have access to the employee computers at the store we have “Apple Directory” which is every employee in the company no matter the role and emails and teams etc… Search for what you want and email them to schedule a coffee chat or call to learn what they do, once you get an email back ask them plenty of questions and if you can send them your resume to get some feedback if it’s a good fit for you. If they say it’s a match ask if there is anything they can do to get an internship, learning experience, or job. I did that to 10 people and was able to get on a call and zoom with 2 people for around 15-30 minutes. Sadly they weren’t hiring because accounting there isn’t huge so they said there’s nothing they can do. But your CS and IT so definitely plenty of opportunities. Yeah my instagram is theo_poncet follow me and I’ll follow right back so we can message.

  • @chowsnipes8560

    Do you think you would have been able to turn your seasonal position into a more long term position, if you had wanted to continue with Apple?

    • @teddygetsthegold
      @teddygetsthegold  Месяц назад +1

      Yeah, I think I said another comment that I got offered to be a full part-time employee instead of being a seasonal part-time employee. And then imagine I wanted to become a full-time they would wait until someone leaves and then I’d be promoted to full-time. If you do leave and then want to come back, it’s definitely doable at the same same Apple store but in order to do that you have to leave in good standing meaning you have to give your two weeks notification when you’re leaving and not bail out the last week or not start skipping the last days.

    • @teddygetsthegold
      @teddygetsthegold  2 месяца назад +2

      Firstly I'm glad you enjoyed the video, secondly I wouldn't because when you are part-time weekends are mandatory and on top of that you have to work 2-3 days during the week. I was part-time seasonal and averagely worked around 30-35 hours a week, the least I've ever done was maybe 25 hours a week but that was rare because the weekends alone is around 20 hours. Now what you could do is apply, say you get the job explain the situation and see how they react because they are very flexible, as a colleges student many times I had to call off, take spring 2 weeks off for spring break, or call off during finals and I still left the company in "good standing". Hope that helps, feel free to reply :)

    • @teddygetsthegold
      @teddygetsthegold  Месяц назад +3

      Yes, so when you get your offer it usually lasts around 2 quarters. For example I was from November to April (6 months), we got extended 1 month because of low staff and I received an offer (they choose specific people based on numbers, ratings, and your attitude/enthusiasm) to become a permanent part-time but along the way you can apply or wait until they offer you full-time, or talk to your manager saying that you are interested and see where it goes from there. Hopefully that helps :) ALSO GOOD LUCK ON YOUR INTERVIEW!!!

    • @teddygetsthegold
      @teddygetsthegold  Месяц назад

      Congrats!!! Yes so training is 3 days of core which is learning about the company, what you’ll be doing, it’s a group training where you are in the back room all day learning. After you will do 1 week of shadowing and modules, shadowing is when you follow an employee and watch them do the job, modules is computer lessons to learn more about the products and systems. After that week you’ll do 1 week of reverse shadowing where now you sell and someone follows you and sees how you sell and will give you advice and tips afterwards. After that your all set :)

    Why did you decide to quit? If you don’t mind me asking.

    • @teddygetsthegold
      @teddygetsthegold  2 месяца назад +7

      Well there are basically three reasons:
      1) It was finals week during my last semester of college before graduating and my grades have not been the best because of the amount of hours I spent working at Apple. So the last week I wanted to not work and really study and improve my grades as Accounting at my school is very tough. Also I wanted to enjoy my last week after finals week before graduating and not have to work, wanted to celebrate with my friends and hang out with them before I leave.
      2) I worked in Buffalo and after graduation I am working Full-Time in NYC so regardless the day was going to come that I quit as I only did this job to earn some money on the side
      3) This job was way more than I thought mentally, this is not Apple's Fault as they are really good with mental health and giving you the day off if you need it for a break. Working at Apple is not just some random minimum wage job, its the biggest company with the most insane values, as I talked in the video, the customer experience is everything, so you really have to be invested, you can't half ass the job if you are tired. Managers are watching you're every interaction. Also sometimes I would be at the iPad or Watch table for 3-4 hours helping 5-6 people at a time without a break, Apple wants you to multi-task because they never want customers waiting around watching a transaction so I would get insane headaches. I hope reason 3 makes sense, I would re-watch the vaue part of Apple because you will get a feel of this and the picture I put on the screen. Also this doesn't mean I hated the job, I loved it and the co-workers are an actual family, I was just in Buffalo 2 days ago to move out of my house and went back to Apple to see my friends and they were all so happy to see me and kept asking how i've been, very nice people!
      Thank you for your question tho it means a lot to me that people are interrested and I hope the video was good.

    i’m coming up on 6 months waiting since i first applied, i applied to a store in a different state since im planning to move, would you recommend calling and talking to a manager and telling them i applied and my situation? (if possible)

    • @teddygetsthegold
      @teddygetsthegold  Месяц назад

      so calling or talking to a manger won't do anythin, as someone that has been asked in store because someone aske dme to ask a manager about positions they will just tell you to apply online. They have no HR or Talent Acquisition staff on site to help you and they don't do the official selection of the first round there is nothing they can do. I would keep applying at the end of each quarter like this one, next quarter is October-December so at the end of this month they should start looking into it. Another option that you could do is find a friend or go to a local store you want to work to and talk to a regular employee and tell them you are interested, and ask them politely if they can refer you, ive done that to someone and they almost got the job. When someone reffers you it get first review and also they won't really say no unless you are rude because if you get the job they receive a 250-500$ bonus on their check :0 I hoope this helps, if not ask another question and ill answer :)

    Is it a group interview?

      There are 2 group interviews and 1 solo interview although I’ve heard some people only had 1 group interview and 1 solo interview. The group ones are very fair where they alternate who speaks first and give you time when you are first to think of your answer. The solo interview is usually with the store leader, that’s the one I recommended being a little more personal and try to get to know them a little bit :)
