As a twist of irony, the actor who was changed for Morikubo was Takahiro Sakurai. Sakurai would later be Cloud Strife on Final Fantasy: Advent Children, while Morikubo ended up as Kadaj, the antagonist. I still imagine the fights in the movie as "OLD X VS. NEW X". Oh, and Morikubo also roled as Yosuke Hanamura in Persona 4...

I think the idea of this song really meshes with Megaman X6 well. It's named Moonlight, as in the darkest part of the day, the song itself is about nihilism, and the character in the song doesn't know what to do. On a slightly related note, I really miss how the Megaman X games - especially X4-X6, had an overwhelming mood.
Nah, Maverick Hunter X was doomed the moment they decided on making it for the PSP. Especially so early in its life span that it was a combination of being overlooked, and being on a console that wasn't too old when it was released.

megaman x6 belongs in gaming hall of shame along with ET, Sonic the Hedgehog 2006, Superman 64. still x6 has a killer soundtrack though. x6 has the best x music, x3 is 2nd, x is 3rd.
the main reason they took out the openings for X4 and X5 was to avoid paying copyright fees to the bands. X6's songs were all done by shoutaro Morikubo, X's voice actor who was working under capcom back then, so they didn't have that problem

The soundtrack is definitely of the high quality the series is known for... The gameplay is not exactly terrible. Horribly unfair sometimes if you haven't memorized each level and with some odd repetitive bosses, but not the best... Definitely a masterpiece when compared to "BURN! BURN TO THE GROUND! BURN TO THE GROUND! BURN!!!" though.

both the story, gameplay and level design were the best in the x series for me, much better than x5 in story and much better than x4 in gameplay and level design. amazing music and presentation made this my favorite X game.
Cringy story time; I got busted listening to this in class freshman year and was forced to sing it in front of the class or face a referral. This led to people I didn't know calling me "Morikubo-san".
I bought the Complete Works, and yes, the people who created the story and designed the characters wanted X to be the real antagonist. But later they changed their minds as they thought it might not please the fans who expected X to be the protagonist alongside zero.
