Amen brother, I have listened to this whole series and have enjoyed it thoroughly. It is been such a blessing to me and good sound Doctrine. I wished I would have known this 35 years ago. I used to be part of a church that was arminian, I never had true assurance because I was sitting under false Doctrine. They taught repent of your sins and make Jesus the Lord of your life. I stop smoking stop drinking stop cursing stop watching television stop listening to worldly music I went out witnessing wrote songs and made sure it had repent repent of your sins in it. If you were to ask me what must a person do to be saved I would have told you repent of your sins accept Jesus Christ as your lord and savior and make him the Lord of your life and pray a sinner's prayer asking him to forgive you of all your sins. I did not believe in eternal security back then. Before that I was raised in a Christian Disciples of Christ Church and of course I never heard or learned about eternal security because they had all this conditions hear believe confess repent and be baptized. It was until after I got out of these churches that my eyes were opened and I believed in Jesus Christ for everlasting life because he died for all my sins was buried and rose again. That is what made it possible for me to be eternally saved. Thank you brother for this great teaching from the word of God.

Thank you Pastor Cucuzza, I also was born/raised Roman Catholic and this helps me to spot "works" salvation in the many Bible believing Churches I've attended. Perseverance of the saints seems to be one that is constantly being preached and is very close to what the priests told us.
Can you recommend a good book or way to understand context in the Bible, I don't seem to be able to rightly divide on my own. I've heard some preach that whenever the word "brethren" is used it's referring to saved people/Saints, but then someone said that Paul refers (I think) in Hebrews to his brethren, which are unsaved Jews. Clarity please if it's not a hard and fast rule about the word brethren. Thank you and God bless you and your family.
