  • We finally take the new caravan and Landcruiser 300 Series out for a test in the bush for the night. We cook a delicious roast pork on the spit over the fire and find out that our caravan toilet is not plumbed to the mains water as it doesn't flush!

    Yer I think them hooks are illegal in SA but a good idea tho easy as , hope the 300 got good seals in back would hate the dogs sniffing fumes and eating dust , interesting to see how the 300 goes on ya trip hope all them fancy electrics and sensors don't let ya down , good luck I'm pressing that button 😀

      The standard thin red breakaway cable is a joke like I have on my van , no chance of stopping it god forbid should my hitch fail. 😮

    Great vid guys, however I noticed when servicing your loo the blue chem was put in the flush tank, that is incorrect as the blue chem breaks down the waste and should go into the toilet cassette , with a little water then a good shake before fitting it back into place, the flush tank which is the top filler should have the pink flush additive which give a nice fragrance when flushing do not use too much as virus loves the stuff and causes issues with fungi in the flush tank .

    • @JourneyUnknown
      @JourneyUnknown  Год назад

      Hello! Thanks for watching and commenting. Our rinse for the toilet was blue in this case and so it went in the flush area. We put the powder sachets or a purple cleaner in the cassette for cleaning / break down. There are a few different colours we use but definitely don't put cleaning chemicals in the rinse area. =)

    I get the feeling that the new style 4x4s should carry duck tape in glove box if they venture out off the city limits 🤔

      Ohh thanks so much! I’ve towed for about 10 years so have plenty of experience with big and smaller vans. I’ve met many ladies on the road who’s partners do all the driving and towing. I highly recommend you getting a lesson and then sharing the driving and towing. If anything happens to our partners, the other half needs to take over. Good luck!

      Hey Colin! Thanks for the reminder! That video was filmed before the last vid we put up so next time we go to the farm we’ll fix both the washing machine and front doors from all the squeaks. Yes we sure will, it’s so hard to find places to go away to at the moment due to the whole east coast being drenched and flooded. 😔

  • @gettingtheretravel

    You may already have the ESC sorted but I see you have a Red Anderson plug (disconnected) which is usually for ESC but you said it's wired through the 12 pin plug. You may actually have your brake controller fighting with the caravan ESC and not the 300's sway control. Just something worth looking at.

    • @JourneyUnknown
      @JourneyUnknown  Год назад

      Totally agree. we were told from our dealer to get a red anderson. When we collected the van they said nah you don't need it they ran the ESC through the 12pin plug. Not being an auto electrician we have no idea. Do you think it's worth having it plugged through the anderson plug?

    • @stewierun9940
      @stewierun9940 Год назад

      @@JourneyUnknown hope you don’t mind jumping in but yes you have to have a direct constant power from the crank battery . We had to run the second Anderson through to the ESC

    • @gettingtheretravel
      @gettingtheretravel Год назад

      @@JourneyUnknown No difference really, the red Anderson is so you can disconnect the ESC when off road (I run my ESC through the 12pin). Get a good auto sparky to check but I would bet you’re getting feedback from / to the brake controller. Have a look on both the Redarc and Alko sites (can’t remember which) but there is information about this exact issue.
