Most people who have guns and use them in the US in violent acts are not using them for safety reasons or in self defense.If you look at all of the gun violence that’s happened in the US, 95% of the innocent don’t have guns to protect themselves, and this is in states where gun rights are lessened. In this instance even if gun laws are lessened in New York the guy who stabbed the girl would be more likely to also shot them. If he’s outside walking with a knife there’s a high probability that instead of using the knife it would’ve been a gun.
