    Hello. I completely agree with you. This lens is worth the price. It is also not expensive compared to what full-frame manufacturers ask for their equivalent lenses. You also prove that it is a super landscape lens, with your beautiful photos.

    That was an excellent eye opening experience! I like shooting wildlife and birds in flight. Planning on moving from Nikon D850 with a bunch of different lenses to the OM1 MK II with a Pro 40-150 F2.8 and something from 150 to 400 and maybe a 50mm equivalent F1.2. in the OM System lenses. You really amazed me with what you were able to do with this one lens. Very versatile lens! Thanks for sharing your experiences with the rest of the world!

      The 40-150 f2.8 is probably my most used lens. Somehow, I see those small telephoto lens photos everywhere. I just like to clean it up somehow by leaving all disturbing elements out of the frame. The 150-400 f4.5 is absolute stunning! I'm surprising myself every time how great that lens is! But there is no shame in using the cheaper 100-400 f5-6.3 also. Don't know if you've seen this video : ruclips.net/video/_Z4e1wYE7fI/видео.htmlsi=pa6wLHbbDFRyc78f but all these images are captured with the 100-400 and they are just amazing! Where are you from? A couple of Fotofairs to try it and save up for it. While this lens is expensive, it is a bargain compared with Canon and Nikon. Lighter, way more compact, less than half the price. While offering more focal length (corrected to full frame 300-800 with a 1.25 TC 375-1000). Neither Nikkor nor Canon lenses offer both features: Zoom and built in TC. I am pleading to OM System to give you a top deal as you just sold many of those lenses, I am sure.

    • @GuidoVanDeWater
      @GuidoVanDeWater  4 месяца назад

      Haha, thank you very much. I will pass this message on to om system. Who knows, they will give me a great deal 😅 but you are right I sounds expansive but it is a bargain compared to what other brand are offering. And I would never buy a Co parable lens for a full frame camera because it will be way to large and heavy for my interest and I'm quite sure this white beast is also at least similar in quality! Thanks for watching and the comment! Grt guido

    Still waiting on my lottery win to buy one, but it is at the top of the list. The 100-400 is nothing like Olympus quality, even though with some good planning/setting you can get acceptable photos. However it's nowhere near the standard of lenses like the 40-150 2.8 Pro.

    • @GuidoVanDeWater
      @GuidoVanDeWater  2 месяца назад

      Of course, the 100-400 is not a pro lens, so there is definitely a difference there. The difference in sharpness compared to the 150-400 is definitely noticeable. But if you use the right shutter speeds, you can get some decent shots with it. I think you are going to want to watch the next video from Denmark because almost every shot is with the 100-400, and I think the results are awesome. I will pray that you get the right lotery ticket. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! Grt guido

    Despite my regular attacks of GAS, I continue to reluctantly conclude that as a non-professional I just can’t justify the expense, as my 100-400 provides me with the same reach if not the same quality results. The 150-600 would provide greater reach and (more importantly) synch IS for less than half the cost of the 150-400, and remains a possibility.

    • @GuidoVanDeWater
      @GuidoVanDeWater  4 месяца назад

      I totally understand your thoughts here. The 100-400 is a great lens that's absolutely true, and I used it for years with pleasure. And I still have it and use it again now that the h
      White one is gone. But after using the white one for a while, I started to notice the biggest differences more. The iq is better, and especially the sync IS is magic. Having such a large lens and photographing handheld without a problem is just a magical feeling somehow. That 150-600 is indeed a great lens used that a couple of times, and it really surprised me. But for me, the weight and size are just a bit too much to use as an addition to my standard kit. If I would only go for birds and wildlife and had to take just 1 lens, then that would be my choice. But when you want to walk around and bring some lenses, then this is a bit too much for me. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I appreciate it. Grt guido

    Hoi Guido
    Ik vond de 2e helft van je foto’s beter dan de 1e helft. Mooie gebruikers ervaring deling. Zeker ook het feit, dat je met meer MM’s ook meer vervuiling/trillingen binnen haalt. Goed dat je dat aan haalde, want dat vergeten de meeste mensen nog al eens.

    • @GuidoVanDeWater
      @GuidoVanDeWater  4 месяца назад +1

      Ik moet zeggen dat zelf hetzelfde had hoor. Ik vond de resultaten uit zweden wat tegen vallen. Alsof ik daarna pas snapte hoe ik hem moest gebuiken 😅 nee zweden was gewoon erg lastig uberhaupt om mooie foto's te vinden. Zeker iets om over na te denken met dat soort afstanden. Mensen willen vaak heel veel MM en denken dan dat ze iets wat heel ver weg is dichterbij kunnen halen maar helaas zijn er gewoon grenzen aan wat mogelijk is. Dat ligt niet aan het glas maar het is gewoon niet mogelijk. Ik zeg altijd zon verre lens is super om iets beeld vullend te krijgen maar niet om de horizon dichtbij te halen. Bedankt voor het kijken weer. Grt guido

    Thank you. Terrific. Until you provided an explanation of the 150-400 for 'landscape,' it never even occurred to me that I usually only hear about this lens in terms of shooting birds and wildlife. The isolation and detail are really amazing. When you used the 150-400, what percentage of your photos tended to be at 300mm or greater for landscape?

    • @GuidoVanDeWater
      @GuidoVanDeWater  4 месяца назад +1

      I actually do a lot of long lens landscape photography. I just love isolating subjects and getting rit of all the disturbing things in an image. I used to do it with the 100-400, but that lens gets a bit soft above 350 mm, so then I got the 300 mm that I even used with the teleconverters from time to time. But in a true believer in flexibility and adapting yourself to the conditions. And that is so much better with this 150-400. I just know I can shoot everything with it. Birds, landscapes, and even macro! Watch this Sundays video for that. In the end, it just saves a lot of weight and gives lots of fun 😁 thanks for watching and your comment. Where are you from? Damn you - i've had to pause the video at the 2/3 mark. I love this sort of landscape photography, and i think you're rightly excited to have taken so many beautiful images (and you're wrong about the owl flying low over the water - there is nothing wrong with the composition... it's an authentic image of a real moment in the real world - don't complain!). When i first heard about this lens, and like most of the MFT lenses tbh, i was highly skeptical - how can a lens so slow be so good and so versatile? I think i understand better now. It's almost upsetting for me to think that this thing could replace my most trusted lenses, adapted to an E-M1X, my old but beautiful 300 2.8 and my always dependable 90-250 2.8 (with 2x and 1.4x TCs, respectively). OK - this is the first MFT lens (other than a pancake) that i've ever really wanted. Now... back to this excellent video. (Lkd&Subd - best wishes from a cabin in a swamp in a rainforest in New Zealand)

    • @GuidoVanDeWater
      @GuidoVanDeWater  4 месяца назад

      I totally understand that 300 mm f2.8 what a beast of a lens was that. But if you think the big white lens is slow, then you're wrong. One of our Dutch ambassadors specialised in wildlife owned the 300 f2.8, and he never touched it again after using the 150-400. It's raiser sharp and super fast. He still believes the 300 2.8 is a tiny bit sharper, but the weight, size, and versatility of the 150-400 outweigh it on every point. Wow, I'm yealous of that swamp. I see it before me sounds like an amazing place for a nature photographer. The snowy owl, by the way, was not a natural setting. It was photographed at a falconer it was a trained bird but still a nice image of a beautiful bird! Thanks for watching grt guido

      @@GuidoVanDeWater Thank you for your reply and the information re comparison of the 300 and this zoom. I am emotionally attached to 'Big Tuna' - a lens that seems to be built solely with regard to quality. It's actually not the finest lens i have from that era however - the ZD 150 f/2 takes that crown. This 150-400 is a very expensive lens for me to consider... but you make the case for it well. Yes, the swamp / rainforest / rugged coast where i live is a Paradise for photography and i am very fortunate - it's an environment that consistently inspires one to work harder and do better. Thanks again and all the very best.

      @luzr6613 ow yeah the 150 f2! Tried that thing once for 2 weeks that was a razor sharp lens! The stuff was big but they made some amazing stuff back then. But the pri lines m33 lenses are at least equalt to a lot of them. Although there is not a real alterative for the 150 you use. Who knows someday 🙏

      @@GuidoVanDeWater The 150 f2 was a big moment for me. When I got it I did some test shots alongside the 300 2.8 - same FOV in the shots - it's better than the 300. It was my epiphany regarding what 'good glass' really means - it's a stunning lens and, if I could only keep one lens, that would be it. I've only dropped it twice. Anyway, I'm lucky, i've got all of those lenses and yes, they make for a 15kg pack, but they are all fast and very satisfying to use.
