I’m 70 and was diagnosed with osteoporosis 10 yrs ago. My primary care doctor has been less than helpful in terms of giving me any kind of direction for safe but effective exercise to actually strengthen & build bone. Instead, their solution is Fosomax for 5 yrs.. I’ve always been active, athletic, and done regular cardio workouts but stopped doing high impact out of fear of breaking a bone or fracturing disks. This workout series feels just right for me because it incorporates weights, balance, cardio., and impact. I LOVE stomping! Thank you so much for your clear instructions, encouragement, and nutritional info, as well.

I've just been diagnosed at 66-years-old with osteoporosis in my spine. I am quite active, hiking 4-6 miles 3 or 4 times a week and doing yoga regularly. This video made me realize how much I've been tip-toeing around and stepping gently. Thanks for helping me get my stomp on! Please keep sharing.

Thank you Dr Kuhn! I am 71 years old and diagnosed with Osteoporosis . I have been doing your 3 Osteoporosis workouts for about 2 months 4 to 5 times a week. I do the 40 min workout one day then the two twenty min workouts the next day. Overall, I am feeling so much better. I love your workouts because I can make them more challenging by increasing weights. I would love to see you add some more Osteoporosis workouts to your channel so I can have more variations. You are excellent on your videos with your presentation and personality! I recommend you to others senior friends at church! Let’s see more workout videos❤!

Finished! I have osteoarthritis, regularly lift, daily yoga, over 10k steps, but I found this very enjoyable and working me in ways I never have! Jumping was something I was afraid of given my recent osteoporosis diagnosis, makes sense you need to stimulate bone growth. So thankful I can get started on strengthening my bones. I am 62.

62 and was just diagnosed with osteopenia of my hip and lumbar spine but have osteopenia in my femur. I've been searching for good workouts to do, but they mainly have been more concentrated on the upper body. I knew that some kind of force was needed to be applied to the lower body, but this is the first video that went over how to do that. This really ticked all of the boxes. Thanks!

Excellent. I can do all of these exercises. I have arthritis in my right knee, but probably both knees. I have been doing a handful of these exercises for less than 2 wks and I am feeling amazing. I don't limp when I walk anymore, I am out walking and at a faster pace, I am working 4 6 hr shifts each evening that are walking. Standing and bending, I have more endurance, less stiffness and more range movement. My pain is less than a 2 and was a 7. I have less swelling and less pain at the end of the day. I am enjoying my journey. Be encouraged, do the work. These exercises are easy to follow and modify to fil your personal needs and to do more as you are able. Thank you Alyssa you are a rare gem and I thank God for you. Blessings.

I have been weight lifting and walking as well as cycling. My question is I currently lift heavier weights and now I’m at a loss of which exercises I should or shouldn’t be doing and at what weights. Most information I’m finding is assuming I’m older and a beginner.
So can I do bench presses with barbells or shoulder presses. These types of exercises. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I am 69 and have taken Fosamax and Prolia, 3 injections, as prescribed by the doctor over 15 yrs, before getting off everything and deciding to focus on my gut health and exercise after realizing the guidance on diet and meds weren't right for me. My DEXA scan numbers continued to get worse for 3 years but I continued searching for osteoporosis information and exercises. My recent DEXA scan showed my femur neck stayed the same (which is much better than getting worse) and the hip and spine each improved by 5 points! I feel like I have been on my journey alone and grateful to have your workouts focused on my needs. I have a hip that is bone on bone. I hike a few times a month and usually workout twice a day for 30 minutes so I don't' aggravate the hip too much. It's good to see your side step work and I have been apprehensive about stomping but I am following your direction. I appreciate the guidance during the workouts and hope to see more to help the hip included. I look forward to doing more of your videos!

I am 78, previously diagnosed as osteopenia and now diagnosed as osteoporosis. I don't like or do well with medicines. I have been weight lifting but like these exercises because they address the situation directly. My plan is to keep them up alternating daily. The second video added weights. I previously was a tennis player which probably helped me. I am a hiker but know I need more like these routines. I like them. I do have one knee replaced so I favor not overdoing the stomping on the right leg.

I finished the whole video! Excellent & an answer (God's blessing/provision) to prayer.... Kind of easy for me, but STILL challenging. I used to teach Physical- Conditioning for older adults (adult school), then when retired, I tried teaching @ senior's home where I moved to, but quit since I had no energy & chronic pains (which I'd had for about 20 years) got worse. I've continued "back- alignment," walking, water yoga" routines, weight/stretch- bands, twice a day/ (week, when tired), so this is like a more-focused summary for me. Doctors have been guessing & haven't yet diagnosed me w/anything, except "maybe osteoarthritis," & and heen trying to resume meds, (which side effects forced me to retire)! I'm now almost 70, but still can still keep physically active & focus well, w/our any meds, mentally...Thanks,again, & God bless you; praying you Believe in & Trust Him in EVERY situation! Sue M. 🤔💞✝️😊🙏

Love this routine and stomping! I started out with osteopenia and has slowly gone into osteoporosis. The last scan I had showed significant loss in the lumbar spine. My dr sent a list of endocrinologists to go to. Finally picked one local to me since nobody could give me recommendations. Unfortunately, I feel that was a bad choice. That dr wanted to put me on Fosamax , left there to never return. My husband went to PT for some issues and I liked the little bit she shared with me about stomping exercises and I found you, realizing what she meant. I have a few sessions with this PT at the end of January to make sure I’m on the correct path. Again, love these routines you’ve shared and do them often. THANK YOU!!! I’m very active, walking daily for many years. Doing a little yoga too. At 69 I want to stay active and moving!!!! When I left the endocrinologist office, I was afraid to move. I slowly realized that I would be okay to go about what I’ve been doing for years and more!!!

I have turned 65 and also diagnosed with osteoporosis, first time I did this workout and I finished it, but I took a little break when it got intense, I do well on my balance and enjoy cardio and resistance combined. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us, we all thank you ❤️

I’ve recently been diagnosed with osteoporosis of spine and hip. I’m 72 and have always done a lot of exercise and sport however I realise I haven’t been doing enough ‘stomping’! I think this video is great and really enjoy doing these exercises which are new to me.

I wrote out the exercises and will add these to my routine, especially after an at home tread run or cycling workout. I am working on staying injury free from knee osteo and believe this is what I need to help me stay healthy.

Aloha Alyssa! I will be 64 in July, and I finished this workout. I was diagnosed with osteoporosis in spine and osteopenia in my hip, and created a protocol from all of my research. My next two year DEXA showed that I gained a tiny bit in my hips, but my lumbar spine stayed the same. I found consistency the most challenging, and was disappointed that I didnʻt gain more in two years of on/off work. So, I am integrating some fresh things, and I love your energy and insight and this workout. I plan to integrate this into my protocol, and am also inspired to see a PT for support (I didnʻt before because of COVID and wanted to just avoid people a bit). I am taking a different approach these next two years. Thinking more strength of bones and also cardiovascular, for my heart. Although a Dr. might say, it isnʻt safe, I began to do depth jumps, off of things, and worked up. I jump off picnic tables these days, and no issues with hips, or knees, or spine. I jump off rocks, I jump off overturned big flower pots, and with free weights, I do the lifts from the LIFTMOR study. I felt safe jumping, because of my 30 years dancing, and my understanding of movement. My last decade of dancing, I had stopped jumping, and was exploring different movement, at a time I should have kept jumping! Live and learn.

I love this workout. I am 62, have some arthritis and joint pain and love to work out. That being said, I also have osteopenia and want to slow this condition down. These are very helpful and seem to me to be very safe. I work in the fitness area with older mature adults and everyone could use this type of exercise. Will try all of Alyssa's videos. Thank you for making these useful exercise vidoes. Love the cardio, balance and strengthening components!

Thank you for creating this. I've been diagnosed recently but am younger and feel somewhat overwhelmed and also unsure what's safe, what's not. I liked that I knew that this was safe, that it's adaptable, but also that this also suited my age (which I haven't found much for). I also liked your positivity. I really hope that you could please do more like this one. Thank you again.

I love the workouts ❤ and have watched the series of videos and plan to incorporate them as part of my personal program. I have a question regarding adding the rotations when doing the punching, I know that you have to be very careful especially if you have osteoporosis in your spine to avoid twisting motions of the spine as you can sustain a spinal fracture if there is too extreme of a twist is applied and especially if you have added weight to that motion. I know there is no weight involved, but Is the exercise on the video a safe level of twist at the speed it is done? I think it would be great to make a video on safe exercise for example maintaining correct posture posture, keeping your back straight, shoulders, lifting loads etc.
Thanks for making these great videos, I hope you do more. I’m actually a health coach specialising in navigating your osteoporosis and bone health and plan on referring my clients to your videos. ❤❤

Love love this workout. I have osteoporosis and arthritis at the same time. I had hip replacement a year ago and was told to avoid high impact exercises (was told to just walk). I am a very active person at 69 yo and not content with walking. Recent studies show that the best way to deal with osteoporosis is the opposite--high impact and heavy weights. I started lifting heavier weights (10-25 lbs) from this summer but hesitant to do high impact exercises for fear of breaking my hip and knees. Your exercise video I think gives the best solution-- not so high impact but still with a "Bang." I look forward to more videos like this. Question-- how many times a week do you suggest I repeat this workout? Many thanks!!!
