Love, love, love this song. The bassist for the Eagles (second bassist) Timothy B. Schmidt used to be in Poco.
The Eagles first bassist, Randy Meisner, also was in Poco.
Also where Rusty Young, Jim Messina and Richie Fury of Buffalo Springfield fame. When Buffalo Springfield disbanded them three got together Poco with Randy Meisner. So Poco could have been considered a supergroup. And as lmgoss mentioned, Timothy Schmidt came in later
I loved Buffalo Springfield with Neil Young, "Mr. Soul" is a great tune by them! Randy Meisner labeled Poco as the farm team for The Eagles. LoL
Also, I found my Poco t shirt from a 1971 concert and the complimentary program. I messaged Rusty Young on Facebook to tell him about my wonderful garage find. Ha! He messaged in return, nice guy as he reminisced playing frequently in STL. I attended a few Poco concerts in St. Louis. Saw them later with Timothy B. Schmit, loved a later song "Crazy Eyes". Timothy B. was great with the Eagles too, "I Can't Tell You Why" or "Take It To The Limit". Such great music that will always live on! So good relistening to old songs from those days. Another often forgotten favorite of mine of...there are thousands HA! Gerry Rafferty "Baker Street"
!!
Actually the bassist he replaced in the Eagles,Randy Meisner was in Poco before him. Funny how all that worked out.
Dean Bonns, yes he was.
This was all over the radio in about 1978. It was a huge hit.
This came out when my baby boy was born. I was crazy in love with my wife and our baby boy. I sang along with this song to both of them . Great song and a great time in my life. That bsby boy is 41 now. Love you son.
David Kelly, Heart melting comment!
Look at you adding more sweetness to an already crazy sweet song! So adorable you, your wife and baby boy!
This is an awesome, song. Poco was very talented. Oh yeah played it over and over after a broken heart. Any remake of these songs they would lose their effectiveness
'70s hit. Great guitars, pretty harmonies.
It makes me happy that you pray for your viewers. Thanks.
If it was remade today it wouldn’t be half as good.
Exactly!! It wouldn't be as Goooood!! Poco made it the hit that it was; it was their song; it was their harmony. They had other hits as well. Why not just enjoy it? It doesn't have to be remade... And someone else covering it wouldn't make it the Classic it is.. :-)
"Where in the world did you find this?" POCO's been around for some time and a top midwestern rock band, spawning other great spinoff's: Eagles, Loggins and Messina, etc. "Crazy Love" was one of their many many hits. The song "Call It Love" is another one you'd like. "In The Heart Of The Night", a song about New Orleans. The guy singing in the video you just watch is Rusty Young, one of the best ever pedal steel slide guitarists anywhere! Oh, and then there is the song "Magnolia" Just perfect - the best you ever had!
As a minister (retired now) I especially enjoy Poco's "Somebody Loves You." You might, too. Thanks for blessing at the end, keeping the Good News out there. Poco is one of my all time favorite groups. One of the founders, Richie Furay, became a pastor in Co,orado, but still plays in Poco revivals and his own band. This a group well worth checking out further.
Man , I love this song , such a great feel
Such a solid band ! One of my faves from back then ... they always managed to make you feel their lyrics. Great stuff
Takes me back to 1978 😂 love it so much 💚 great reaction and comments Ty 😁👍
OMG!!! You are pulling out all the memories of my teenage years!!
Wow! Brings back memories! Totally forgot about this song and band!
Funny, how lyrics come back to you in an instant and you're transported back to your childhood. We had so much great and diverse music in the 70s. It was a wonderful time to grow up in.
That's Timothy B Schmidt from the Eagle, I believe. Randy Misner, who he replaced in the Eagle, was also the singer for this band Poco too...interesting trade.
When this came out, , It was uncommonly beautiful in both lyric and vocal harmony. and it has not faded with time. A true classic.
Poco has what I liked to call those "Good Old Boys" kinda harmony.
Poco, one of the best bands ever
Thanks for bringing this song and this group back into my memory. I loved this song . I haven't thought about them for a while. Back when I was in my first apt on my own and would go to sleep listening to all that great music!
I’m 52 and I LOVE this song!
Brings back memories of growing up in Michigan with the cornfields and the dirt roads, riding my bike wit the sun on my face and the wind in my hair, not a care in the world!
Thank you for the reaction!
So glad you also loved it!
Peace and Love…✌️💕🙏🏻

Ty, there are SO MANY from the 70's. It's hard to pinpoint each song because the airwaves were FULL of great song after great song like it. Such great memories of the times we lived in.
I heard the song in 1977 at a concert in Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, NC. Poco was the opening act and played an hour and was great, especially Rose of Cimmaron. Then the main act came on, Carlos Santana. Carlos played for 2hrs and 15 mins and left my ears ringing. Cost of a ticket for this great show was $15, Oh for the good old days.
Poco's "A Good Feeling To Know" is a fun, upbeat song.
Poco was popular in the 70s. I was a newly wed and this was a great hanging with friends out in the country song
I remember this song and video back in 1980 or so. Before MTV it was on a show for about 30 min called video concert hall. It was on almost every night and it had the same 5 or 6 videos. It is pronounced Po Co, like coco.
Had no idea what this was until It started.. i love this song from my youth... im sooo happy i can download it now :-).. love it!
I remember hearing this song on my first road trip. We drove from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Zion National Park in Utah. I doubt this is the exact memory, but I'll always associate this song with sitting in the back seat of my friends 84 Honda Civic while driving through New Mexico.
Another one I discovered while on the trip, but has a totally different memory attached to it....you might like Poco's "Keep on Trying".
In 1978 this song was played non stop on the Radio, Soft rock the best in 70's and 80's ... Tonight I'm gonna break away, just you wait and see...
Wow Poco...hadnt heard this in forever...Beautiful song it was a huge song back in the day..the harmonies remind me of that Afternoon Delight song which was another big hit from the 70s
This was released in 1976 and it was their first big hit . The album that it is featured on was called "Legend". There were two songs released as singles off of the album. The other was called "Heart of the Night". "Legend" was their 6th or 7th album and every one of them were gems even though they could never seem to get any traction on the radio. If you want an experience similar to my first, give a listen to their third album which was a live album called "Deliverin". The last cut, which is a medley of three songs will give you an idea of my first experience with Poco. (pronounced with both O's being long O's). The reason it would mirror my first experience was that I had never heard of them when I saw them live at an outdoor event and they absolutely stole the show. They sounded just like they did on that album. They were really the progenitors of Country-Rock. I had always hated country music until I heard their incredible musicianship and tight harmonies.
Rusty Young (the vocalist here!) stayed strong and true with this (his) band through its many changes and members, which included, at different times:
Randy Meisner ("EAGLES"),
Jim Messina ("LOGGINS AND MESSINA"),
Timothy Schmidt ("EAGLES"),
Richie Furay ("BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD," "SOUTHER, HILLMAN, FURAY," etc.),
and other changes.
Rusty also wrote this song.😊
Poco was the group that started the type of music that the eagles got famous for but Poco was first. Poco's original name was pogo but got changed because of the comic strip of the same name. Poco is still together and playing shows today unless they finally stopped after the death of George.
Poco had a few hits then. I heard that song on the radio routinely. It hit #1 in 1979.
18 years old, had moved away to Phoenix to school, and this album (Legend) was not only one of my absolute favorites, it's also what I always took in to shop for stereo equipment and speakers, because of the range of the instrumentation and voices on the entire album. Love it still. (Also - great album cover designed by Phil Hartman of SNL fame.)
I was a teen when that came out. It's beauty still stands POCO. one of the great groups
OH MY, I REMEMBER POCO SINGING THIS IN THE LATE 70S GREAT TUNE FOR JUST CHILLING.
RIP Paul and Rusty. Miss Them.
Rusty was a Top steel guitar player, I think the best.
"Keep On tryin" with Timothy B Schimdt singing LEAD on this Earlier hit.....Obviously he left for the Eagles, but the harmonies on that one is INSANELY GOOD!
*~((( Hit songs like Poco's "Crazy Love" were played on radio stations on a regular basis for many years after they were hits in the 1970s...those of us who were kids/teens during this decade listened to a lot of radio, and that is why we remember all these songs that are a part of our memories and emotional experiences )))~*
I LOVE Poco!!! loved watching your reaction!! harmony is so beautiful
This bring me back to Jr. High Ski Trips in 79'. We were 13 and this was playing on the bus while my girl and I where working on are night moves. Thanks.
Poco was very big in the late 70s. This was a big hit for them. Phil Hartman from Saturday night live designed the album covers for Poco before he made it to SNL in the late 80s early 90s.
Incredible song! Thanks for reacting to it!
the golden era of the singer songwriters.......you dont see that anymore
I was 11 years old in 1978 when this song came out. I was just beginning to experience music on the radio. This song makes me think of one Christmas when I had recorded a bunch of songs off of the radio (onto a cassette tape - yes, a cassette tape) and I would lay under the Christmas tree listening to music and being fascinated by the sounds of the songs. So, yeah, that's my memory of first hearing this song. Still love it to this day!
Brings me back to Spring of 1979. Great album, Legend. I bought it based on the cover art alone and never regretted it. It is still a fave 40 years later!
Childhood memories. Remember hearing this song when i was in kindergarten. I wish i could go back, with all my family here. Bittersweet.
I grew up listening to Poco. I've always given The Eagles their just dues but, to me, Poco was always a far superior band. Poco's original bassist, Randy Meisner, left Poco after their first album was recorded, but hadn't yet been released, to form The Eagles, with Henley, Frey and Bernie Leadon. I was fortunate enough to see the first incarnation of The Eagles after the release of their first alblum. I also got to see Poco several times. After Meisner left Poco recruited Timothy B. Schmidt; who later left Poco to join The Eagles, a running theme throughout their existence as a band.
The singer on this particular song is Rusty Young. He was their guitarist and pedal steel player. What made his style of playing the pedal steel so unique was that he ran the sound thru a Leslie Speaker Cabinet, which is what players of the Hammond B3 organ usually use. So any part of a song that sounds like a Hammond Organ is really a pedal steel guitar.
Poco has a very extensive and incredible catalog of music to enjoy. Their best album, IMHO, is "A Good Feeling To Know" 1972. Also Crazy Eyes 1973 and Seven 1974. But then again...all their albums are great. (One of the coolest walking bass riffs ever is from their song Ya Better Think Twice from the Album Poco 1971)
This is so great you found this , it came out when I was a kid . I told myself I want to learn to play it , now my kids are grow I started working on playing and this is one of them , my friend and I play guitars he is a pro guitar man. So we play it backwards from how they play it thats easier on me, I play rustys the lead singer part and sing back up . he plays cottons part it fills the low ends and he sings rustys lead part .No one can tell the difference . Love your channel be blessed .
I first heard this song when I was in junior high school. I think I was in 7th or 8th grade when it was released. It was a staple on the radio back in the late 70s.
Man, I love rediscovering songs. Super tune!
Awesome song was 12 n falling in love with every girl i saw lol.a time when there was so much music of all kinds pop ,punk, rock ,metal, new wave, prog , country on n on. Music's hey day.
Great song! Always liked their music.
Gotta love a 12 string..ive been jamming on one for 40 years as of this year..saw these guys in 1979 ,at mile high stadium.my bro and i played and sang this one often..harmony...bith in bocals and guitar..love it..seems you like musical surprizes..here is one that may surprize you.
Garth Brooks doing r& b as Chris Gaines. Full slbumn the lamb. Great storu behind it..Rare..too many great songs to pick just one,but if i must pick ..unsigned letter? U pick one..lol u r awesome thanks.
In a word: Classic.
Great tune from the 70’s. Remember this in the summer of 78 just before l met my wife to be.
Poco has had so many great artists that played with them. You need to listen to more of them! Nobody could do this better!
I remember this song and their other works. I'm really happy you like it. Soft rock we called then. ..Air Supply was another band that comes to mind, same genre.
Heard it on radio when I was about five. Harmony will get your attention at any age.
Oh ya, as a young girl, I’d sing along to it. We got our first FM radio in the car in the late 80’s, and that’s how I’d hear it.
Timothy B Schmidt later joined a very well known group . You may remember them too. They were called the Eagles he replaced JD Souther.
Love Poco. I finally saw them in concert a few years ago. They still sound great. Beautiful harmonies. Try "Heart of the Night" which I think was their biggest hit.
LOVE Poco! Takes me back to my junior year of high school..we had some great music. You want harmonies? Listen to their Rose of Cimarron...
I love how you ask questions shows how interested you are . Luv ur reactions you are one of my top 5 go to's for reaction vids
I appreciate that
A harmonious blast from the past! So pretty! 🌻
Poco and this song remind me of Pure Prairie League, and their song Amie. My favorite by Poco is their other "Crazy song, Crazy Eyes".
Hey Ty, love this. Another great one by them is "In The Heart of the Night". Much love
Love Poco and this song and of course In the heart of the night.
Crazy Love was a big hit for Poco in 1978. It was a single from their hit album, Legend. The other big hit from this album was Heart of the Night. Give it a listen.
❤️❤️❤️R.I.P. Rusty Young and Paul Cotton❤️❤️❤️
Poco was the predecessor to the Eagles. Their original name was pogo and they were made to change their name because of the comic strip of the same name by the strips creator.
I loved this song so much. It was one I had to turn up and sing to.
Great harmonies seemed to be a trademark of a lot of 70s bands. I miss that.
Grew up listening to this song. I was lucky enough to have a dad that listens to all types of music.
One of the most underrated bands of ALL time; how talented were they well two members including Timothy B Schmidt became corner stones of the Eagles. Not to mention Rusty Young who they said if it had strings he could play it. Re sing it that’s crazy that’s TB Schmidt and Rusty Young. This is one of my top favorite 20 albums of all time.
Such a pretty song by Poco, one of the founding fathers of today's country music. Also try Van Morrison's "Crazy Love" for a different take.
It's "poh-co." This is a great song. The band encompassed part of Buffalo Springfield band members, of "For What It's Worth" fame, after they broke up, and some of the members were members of the Eagles of "Hotel California" fame.
this is the first slow dance song my late husband and I danced to
I love this song! I use to roller skate dance with my boyfriend to this. Such great harmonies❤
I totally forgot about this song. Beautiful!
Rip my brother. You sung a great song.
Unfortunately, I am an old guy. Tim Schmidt was singing lead. He went on to write and sing with the Eagles
Thank you brother, very cool band. Another great song by them is "Heart of the Night"
I listened to this 10,000 times when I was in high school! Every romance that ended (or never quite got started), has this song as the sound track. Late 70's era love and breakup gold!
I love Poco and their music, I saw them a couple of months ago. No it was in the 1900's sorry. I kept an '8-track' of their songs and I love it. I haven't had any way to play for a long time but still have it.
Summer, camping and going to the rec hall playing it over and over on the juke box
Wow!! The memories! Sitting outback grandmother's house on a picnic table drawing pictures and just "'doodling" with a bright yellow one speaker transistor radio, with about a two foot antenna on it! With aluminium foil on it so it comes in clear lol. Damn!! Can't remember what I had for dinner last night!! But I can remember this like it was yesterday!!😡 stupid brain turning to mush 😯LOL!👍👍♿♿👍👍🙏😎🍺🍺🍺👍👍🌞🙏🌞♿🍺😎♿👍 everyone have a great night and be safe 😎😎👍👍♿♿👍👍🍺🍺😎😎
Gr8 song
I was about 8 years old when I heard this constantly played on the radio when it came out- I loved it then and still do- I was a bit ahead in music taste for my age- always listened to older family members records, 8 tracks, etc.. I was around the same age when I first heard Robert Plant’s “in the Mood” and Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall” album. I was mesmerized and still listen to all of these and more, decades later- “ In the mood“ by Robert Plant is a fav song of mine to this day. Hey, that’s an idea Ty! Plz react to it- The words might be a bit repetitive BUT.. love the rhythm!! I think you wld as well. Another driving song perhaps?.. I know I’ve driven to it with the windows down! Anyway , this is One reason I love watching others discover all this fantastic music for the first time- 💛✌️🤘🏼💛
Always loved this song
What's with all these great 70's songs lately?! You have me coming back over and over.
They always played this at the roller skating rink when I was a teenager
Why remake perfection?. This song is absolutely perfect as is. Although I didn't hear the driving percussion in the final verse. Not sure if it was my speakers or if you were listening to a scaled down version of the song. But definitely buy this song because it never gets old or outdated.
Damn haven't heard this in years. Thanks. Another great one is a good feeling to know. Timothy b schmidt was with poco and then went on to be with the eagles. Poco is in that genre with America, seals and crofts and many others.
Awesome job again Ty! 👍👍♿♿👍👍🍺🍺🍺🙏👍👍 I'm not sure if I have ever said this, but I have to watch you're reaction videos twice LOL! One watching you're reaction, and then the other watching the music video😊👍👍🙏♿♿👍👍🍺🍺😎😎👍👍 you do a tremendous job!!👍👍 thanks so much!! You're videos always make me feel better 🙏🌞🌞
The band Poco is pronounced:
Poe-Coe.
Remember this from being played on radio.
Here I go again it’s my70s soft playlist love 💕 it
This song reminds me of lost love and how unexpectedly those feelings you try to push down resurface. I love the vibe.
I always loved how the that awesome bass line enters midway thru the song. Once you know the song , anytime you hear it, you can say to yourself....”wait for it, wait for it”....and that bass line just takes it away.
I forgot you reacted to this song. I was gonna request this one. I even commented on it 😂😂😂
