Great live sound =D !!
Never seen a bass drum setup like that. Nice playing very proficient.
this guy must be the gentlest metal drummer I've ever seen.
That drum mallet is set so high man --- wow

BBEDrummerAK I didn't even know they made them that long -- he must've did a custom job -- interesting
Very good. Impressive. I'll have to go back and listen to Lvcifyre and Nightbringer a bit more.

wow, that is an awkward beater Setting, but whatever works for him... hits are a little light, but you gotta preserve stamina on the gig too
how can you say hes hits are light when the beater is hitting 8 notes at like 70 degrees all the time, longer beaters are also increasing the power of the stroke, i'd say he can play this without triggers easy (if he already isnt)...
i wasn't only talking about the kicks, also the blast or in general the snare hits... at these tempos, you have to trade speed for punch, that is simply how physics work and I also noticed that the angle is quite impressive, but I guess that is because of the rebound... Agreed that longer beaters increase the power, at the same time, they also need longer to reach the skin, so that is quite an impressive feat on its own. I still think that his leg motion is fairly relaxed and he doesn't push too hard (in fact, he doesn't have to... for me personally, I wouldn't like the feel of having the beater bounce against my leg or sitting so much into the pedals, but like I said, whatever works for him). Not trying to hate on Menthor, just making an oberservation. He has perfected pretty much his technique on blast barrage that works in this kind of music so well, but if you look at Krimh or Hannes Grossmann for comparison, they have a fairly wider angle (for blasts, not double bass) as an example... So yes, you can play with much power and fast additionally, but not over such long stretches of time like Menthor does (or James Payne in Vital Remains for example), so you have to naturally preserve stamina for the rest of the set and not for 2-3 blast songs, hence he doesn't play as frenetic or with as much power as I do not doubt he certainly would be capable of. FYI, the kick is triggered, I don't know of any situation, be it live or on record where Menthor didn't trigger the kicks.
he's tapping the drums.... especially left hand
jesus, don't stroke the drumkit, fucking hit it!
