he isn't in a game universe or inside a game. he got transported an actual other world as his game character and his base came along with him in the transportation.
Almost all of the denizens of Nazarick hate humans, they were created that way by the guild members since in the game heteromorphs (the races the guild members were) could be killed by the other players without getting a PK penalty. The guild because of the bias against their races went all out and played as the villains in the game.
They show the original world briefly in one of the Overlord compilation movies. The original world is the future of our world (or a possible future) of 2138. Everything has gotten pretty bad due to wars and environmental destruction, so people hide out by connecting their brains to Matrix like videogames.
The person who played one of these games, Suzuki Satoru, created the skeletal mage, Momonga who would advance to the Overlord class and become guildmaster of the Ainz Ooal Gown guild. (This is mostly from the first book. They didn't cover it as much in the show.) Mysteriously, his base and the non-player characters he and his friends created seem to have become actually real in a world where magic works and monsters are real.

Luego decir que el protagonista es el único humano en el tiempo actual del anime, aparentemente, otros jugadores fueron teletransportados a ese mundo pero fue en otra epoca de ese mundo, creo que 100 años antes que el prota la calavera fuera teletrasnportado alli. Decir que el lore de overlord es bastante extenso y tiene varias temporadas con una web novel extensa con muchos volumenes para leer, espero te guste saludos!

To address your concerns about the real world, I'm sorry to say you won't see much of it, you'll hear about it at most. It's actually a common way to give the audience members a protagonist that is easier to connect with, it's used in other media too, and the general term is "Fish out of water." Basically you take someone from a situation we are familiar with and thrust them in to a situation we aren't, and it allows the main character to ask all the questions the audience would also ask. In many anime, including this one, it's taking someone from the real world and having them suddenly be a part of a fantasy world. The genre of anime has been very popular for over a decade now and is commonly known as Isekai.
This was recorded probably 3-4 week in advance so patrons probably had explain the world isn't a game anymore.

If you don't read the comments then there's no point in watching your videos. Everybody is explaining you the situation and in 3 episodes you still have no clue about the basic premise of the show.
Sadly this is very true. This show takes a bit of background knowledge to understand a few things.

It was a one-way trip and you do not want to go back to that hellscape.
The long and the short of it is Humanity screwed up the Earth.
You will hear bits and pieces describe throughout the story but you never get an actual visual.
You seem pretty young so I don't know if you ever actually sat down to watch The Matrix but it was kind of like that.
The only difference is people plug themselves into the computer of their own accord.
Also unlike the Matrix it wasn't a perfect replication of life.
Sensory data was limited to visual. You cannot have taste, smell, or facial feature movement.
The Earth was also run by Hugh corporate entities.
If you want deeper information than that read the books.
Also Overlord is chaotic by the very nature of the story itself. Part of it is because you can only put some material from the books into a show.
Side note the first season's kind of slow, but the second and third season really pick up.
And based on his reaction from episode 2 when he saw blue sky in this world, he's like don't believe it at all and by how amazed he was. + Sky in 6th Floor Nazarick based on what they assumed and imagined how sky might be looks like.
HE isn't in a game anymore.its almost like an isekai, he got transported to another world with his game like abilities and guild and NPCS his friends made.
Well think of it like this there is the world he come from, the game Ygdrassil and this new world.
It is normal to think he was transported to the game, but that is not the case.

Sebas and Momonga spoke about this in the second episode, but they have been transported out of Yggdrasil. They're not in the game anymore.
