Clementine's death in the light novel is way more gruesome than what was shown in the anime. In the light novel, Ainz crushes her so hard she vomits out her internal organs

@@Hausaaaa so the little mage with the group "The Blades of Darkness" was actually a girl. She wore a bandages as a binder to hide her chest and pretend she was a boy. Idk if the others knew or not, but Ainz found out while he was inspecting all their bodies.

The maids are all around level 50-60ish, aside from the lead maid who doesn't get mentioned in the anime. All floor guardians and Sebas are level 100

shalltear is like the second most powerful NPC in nazarick lol! she's literally a player killer before.
Ainz also mention, in the light novel, that he would never beat Shalltear if she decided to use her trump card right at the beginning. So yeah, stronger than Ainz as well lol.

I would just like to take this moment to say, this episode is still one of my favorites. When Nabe is breathing hard before she starts to get serious, she wasn't tired. She was frustrated because Lord Ainz told her not to use magic above 4th tear and Kajit was protected from 6th tear and below. That is why she was so happy when Lord Ainz told her to show the power.

it's also dark like overlord but much more of a "MILITARY" concept.
they should really make more good animes like these. GOOD STORY writting and interesting concepts.

The Clementine scene is why I say that Ainz is a true God of Death. Clementine loved inflicting death and pain on others. She loved making others suffer before they died, so Ainz did to her what she did to others all her life. He made her suffer, he let her struggle fruitlessly against the approaching spectre of her own demise to further amplify her torment.
"You took your time killing her didn't you? So I will take my time as well." - Ainz Oal Gown
As dark as it is, that is justice. Karma at it's finest. Bring death and suffering to others, and you will be rewarded with that which you have inflicted on others, with no hope of escaping that fate.
You all are in for a treat. My wife and I binged watch the first two seasons right when season 3 came out. There will be lots of great scenes coming up in future episode so enjoy!

Trivia time. Ainz gives Hamsuke the orb. She holds onto it in her mouth much to the orb's chagrin. That's right, the orb is an intelligent item and pledges its loyalty to Ainz.

@ birgistheword 1234 The day I watched this episode for the first time I had to go to work that evening. That song was stuck in my head all night, while that scene of Ainz hugging Clementine to death was playing over and over in my head.
That's when I knew Overlord was a great anime.

funnny thing: Clementine is still alive in Ple Ple Pleades (Overlord Battlemaid Spin-off) and she somewhat has her memory of her death.
You'll be interested to know that Clementine's voice actor, Aoi Yuuki, does the voice for Tsu in My Hero Academia.
Im sure you could guess, but Clementine death was MUCH more gruesome in the light novel.
Ps. I think it's in the next episode, but Clementine's body disappears from the morgue, but doesn't reappear in season 2 or 3
Yeah, there's a lot of finer detail to her death in the novel, namely the part where it describes her organs as being able to be seen in the back of her throat when Ainz drops her.
There's also the little tidbit of Khajit having been a somewhat tragic character that ultimately was still just a scared child trying to find the power to resurrect his dead mother (and ultimately being taken over by a sapient death orb) as well as a much more obvious clarification that despite Ainz's claims he was actually quite bothered by Clementine killing the swords of darkness as he actually did somewhat genuinely like them (though still considered the option of taking them by force or killing them if it'd be of use to Nazarick).
Or to be more specific he was noticeably bothered by Ninya's death, especially when he studied her body and saw how mangled and tortured it was (to the point he doesnt find out she was a woman till later because in the novel version he couldnt piece together any physical traits to her chest area due to how mangled it was when he studied it).

It the novel ?Kaji? the wizard guy thinks of the day he found his mother's dead body when he dies and Clementine barfs some of her organs onto Ainz Oal Goan
And Clementine was one of the highest levelled people and one of the strongest humans in the world, which is why she recognised instantly that Ainz didn’t actually know how to fight lol

In LN Kajit, the necromancer, which Narberal killed have some motivation behind his actions. He wanted to create so much negative energy with undead creation cycle that could transform him into lich. With this power he wanted to resurrect his mother which died due to the stroke or something like that. And because he was first who found her, he became obsessed with death. For Clementine death the badges that fall off first is from those adventures that she killed and tortured before when they kidnapped Enfry.

in the light novel clems body goes missing without a trace and i don't see why that would be mentuned unless we will see an undead clem again later. she is afterall a leader of a bunch of necromancers and other undead.
With the recent release of "Escape From Nazarick" by Kadokawa I think it can be assumed as canon that Clementine did not actually die.

Sorry for my poor english. You may not think about it but those silver tags that fell down from Clementine armor are from the party they've killed when come after Enfiria. Also all those tags (little metal plates) on her are from adventurers she killed after she ran away from Slein Theocracy. If I recall correctly. If you liked anime title try to read the original source manga or ranobe (Light Novel), ranobe have more details, but manga easier to read. Often they have more story and details, because now anime adaptations come out circumcised. Sometimes amputated.
They seem to be confusing the Pleiades with typical maids. Nazarick has maids, that's not what the battle maids are. They don't serve people meals and clean, they specifically defend the throne room of Nazarick. They are combat NPCs.

If you think Overlord is a story about a hero or a justice loving person you are in the wrong place :) you can expect some more evil fun in the future
Well to be fair. Ainz is a dispenser of justice. It's just not the justice that most people's warped view of reality recognizes as justice. Clementine took her time killing that girl in the Swords of Darkness. She enjoyed torturing her and making her suffer before killing her. So Ainz did the same to Clementine. He made her suffer, allowing her to struggle uselessly against the oncoming spectre of her demise purely to amplify her suffering as the realization slowly dawned on her that she was doomed to die a horrible, painful, agonizing death and there was absolutely nothing she could do about it.
That is justice at it's finest. How can you claim that Ainz, the Supreme Overlord of Death, is not an arbiter of justice? Rich and poor, young and old, good and evil, all are equal in death. Before the Supreme One, all beings, nations, and powers are nothing.

a great side-benefit to watching Overlord...past the first season or so, you'll understand people much better when they try to explain D&D to you. :) namely, don't try death magic on the undead. it may just heal them. :P

That horrified 'oh... NO!' when bone daddy caught the guy made me chuckel; he only murder cuddles enemies LOL. The shock of seeing the murder cuddle scene must have been just too real for you… tbh though its one of the more gritty things you'll see if you dont go lookeing for anime gore scenes.
