Amos Lee would have made a really intriguing Llewyn Davis. Can't speak to his acting ability, but he certainly has a Dave Van Ronk vibe that would have made him incredible for the part.
Wow. I made a cover of this yesterday, but I sure as hell lack the voice to do it like Amos Lee does. It's up there with Oscar Isaac's and of course the original interpretation by DVR.
Andrew Lentz Exactly, can you name the author of the song and who played it? No,ergo it is impossible to "cover" a song of anonymous ownership, when a musician "covers",he does a cover of a song established and made famous by a particular artist.
very nice. i learned this song not long after dave van ronk put it out. i have just posted my own keyboard version and i invite you to check it you!! per the folk process, a few different words

The audio quality on this is spectacular! I would like to know what device you recorded this video with please?
As this song is in the public domain (traditional),this is not a "cover". The part he is referring to IS Llewellyn Davis.
It's a cover of an old folk song. The opposite of a cover is an original, which it is not.
