Cool glider and flown expertly. TBH this made me a tear up a bit, my Dad was building a 100" RC glider (he was in his 80's) but got ill and didn't finish it before he passed away. I wish he had seen this video, he would have absolutely loved it. Thanks for sharing.
WOW John! Huge pirouettes all day long! Nothing more beautiful than a large sailplane doing huge, well controlled pirouettes! It's the ultimate manouver sailplanes are made to do when in the zone of the elusive thermals! Seems to work good for the slope as well! I do enjoy the small yank and crank variety of slopers you sometimes have, but honestly these BIGGINS simply owning the slope are where my heart lies! As always, Thank you John for sharing and please tell your videographer and music wizard thank you for such a nice few minutes of viewing relaxation! Made my afternoon!
Great that's what it's all about brings back good old days 40 years ago when living in wales and flying the hills on the wind. Unfortunately I don't live near the coast or the mountains any more but I still love my flying. Lovely well done👍
Nice, would be good to see stall, watching airframe shudder boundary layer break away easy or tricky recovery, and yaw how each fuselage masks a wing. Enjoy channel thanks.
@@SlopeRCGliders it would be amazing if you found or were gifted an old " Sailaire " I think it was called! Huge thermal ship from back in the day. One other would be the venerable, and magestic "Hobie Hawk" ! She was a very fast flier and quite nimble as well! I had the Hobie for a long time but it literally got too heavy from all the epoxy I used in repairs learning to fly sailplanes. Wrong plane to start with but I stuck to it until I figured it out! By then the Hobie was very heavy and ugly as heck from all the abuse anyways!
Very nice John. 👍 What was the wind speed ? . I have been given a model that looks very much like this one If it flies half as well as yours, I will be a very happy man . I have no idea what it is called though no one seems to recognize it .
This was a model I was given. The rudder has been cut away to give the elevator a bit more movement but I feel it could still use more. Maybe a bigger elevator would help...
And how much would it cost and where can I buy one is it forgiving plane to fly or I am going in to fast I am an airline pilot but reverse controls is the trick I think so that’s why needs a lot of sim hours :)
It’s not really possible to buy a new glider like this one, ready to fly. This one was scratch built from plans, however there are plenty of good starter gliders on the market.
Another classic thermal ship becomes a slope movie star under the direction of Sir John & Co. Brilliant!

Thank you so much for watching. Sorry to hear about your Dad. Will you be able to finish and fly his glider?
Beautiful soaring. Color scheme reminds me of my Pulsar 3.2m. Have a wonderful day happy RC'ing!
멋진 비행입니다
Just beautiful...as usual!Congrats and cheers Mr.John !

Another beautifully built glider!
What a beautiful fly in a beautiful landscape, so relaxing
This model penetrates so nice and has good retention. Looks like a pleasure to fly.
Beautiful, once again. Thank You
Flown like a dream! Excellent video work! You were waltzing with the skies!
Thank you!
Perfect start for a Saturday. You should start a sailplane rental business. "Come see the beautiful coast and fly on magnificent cliffs."
John parabéns, lindo modelo vc é o CARA. Top
Another great day flying sir, Thanks again Mr and Mrs W best wishes from Alan in South Yorkshire 😊😊🤗🤗👏👏👍👍
Looks like a good day for this glider, it didn't look very windy. It floats really well but also hustles across the slope too.
Top notch camera 1.03 to 1.10. Out of sight, zoom out, rock steady, keeps nerve, slight predictive pan right, got it!
Like the design. Would be neat to see it, also, in a T-Tail version.
Beautiful. So similar to the Elan, form following function I guess.
Relaxing video!
You need to have a video on how to build such gliders. My wings don’t come out straight after covering then. 😆
Reminds me of the early 80s when I would fly my impala at Moel Famau, good video, subbed.
Thank you. I’m planning on building an Impala soon...
- Only three of us will be there..
- Grandpa.. but we are only two.
- You, me and the Wind.
beautiful. looks like A frames on the beach -difficult choice but glad you chose the air :)
Seaside Ca. Very Relaxing Enjoying to Watch I’m to get one soon l live in a area Close to the beach nice Scenery Monterey Bay Sanctuary
The giant sand dune at Fremont and Hwy 1! Well pretty much anywhere along there! Starting a Gentle Lady build myself. Cheers
Pure bliss!!! Slope soring to me is the cocaine of RC! Do it once... you hooked .
Epicness!!!!!! Love it!!!!
Big is always better. Thanks John
Absolute magic 😍😍👍
You working a most beautifull models
Magic...Sailplane🌠🌠🌠
Beautiful
Just great again, thank you

I fly thermal (flat land) in So Calif. Great plane , Pilot and location.
Will be looking for a slope site
Que chulada 😍
Thank you for your answer any links you can provide
Beautiful flier. Wonder how it would handle a histart or winch.
It was made for it. You're funny.
@@richarddarlington1139
I’ve seen some gliders that are fine from a slope but don’t handle histarts or winches well. I was serious.
Hi John, Do you have a SIG Riser 100? It would be a great comparison video as the aircraft are very similar.
I’ve got a few 100” Sailplanes. This one, the Elan, a Sagitta, and a Lancer. But I’ve never tried a SIG riser.

que buen vuelo y que tremendo lugar para volar esos planeadores, perfecto!!!
The Lidl video is gone :(
Could you re upload?
Is their any apps to train on gliders controls like this one before crashing it 😂😂
Yes there are a few model aircraft simulators to learn to fly. Picasim is free and specifically for gliders.
I use Picasim
That is one sweet glider. Are the wings 1 piece?
They are two piece wings with metal joining rods.
How come you've had all the sun, John? I have been in Exmouth all week since Saturday and the only dry day was yesterday, coming home a day early! 😂😂
Wow, it’s been really nice here.
hello, where do you fly, it's really very pretty
I’m in Cornwall U.K.
Very nice John. 👍 What was the wind speed ? .

It was probably blowing about 5-6 mph in this video but it would be happy in anything upto about 12mph.
@@SlopeRCGliders Thank`s John. 👍.
Do you know what this is ? ruclips.net/video/2MoF-u8hf0g/видео.html
Memories....
Did you manage to modify the elevator John? If so, worth doing?

Wow
👍👌
Tom Scott recently made a video down at the beach
about finding Lego there
Yes, I saw that one. He makes some good videos
👏👏👏
Wow so nice where can I buy one like that is it ok for someone who have no experience
Kernow?
Yes it is.
And how many knots minimum to fly it
Probably about 5 minimum
