Also after she died, Klaus said to cami that they were not the same because the person she shared a true connection with was still alive and caroline is still alive so obviously his true connection is with cami who had just died. Also, he said even if they hadn't met that night with the $100 bill, he would have found her. If that doesn't say soulmates, I don't know what does. I'm not saying klaus didn't care for caroline deeply. He did. He may have even loved her. But it was an infatuation and not true love. Caroline never chose him first, and only went to him when she needed something. If you love klaus, wouldn't you want him to be with someone who truly loves him back and will pick him first.
