DYNO!? 😉
Cost for build?
Should have replaced that radiator fan motor, they tend to go boom....

Crazy, wouldn't even attempt. Good job
Intrigued from start to end. The amount of detail and skill to pull this off. Well done!
No measurements, no wear control, no precision machining and absolutely random block resurfacing. Engine is all about precision and tolerances of 1/100 of a mm.
I won't trust you even a tire repair, sorry.
Thank u finally someone with knowledge
lol i was surprised they even lapped the valves
Are you going to pay for them to get the equipment to do those measurements? Just some hobbiests rebuilding their own personal engines. You work with what you got.
@@devonsimpson8069 the equipment needed (aka micrometer, bore gauge and plastigauge) is not expensive. 200€ tops. getting the block honed and surfaced, crankshaft polished and trued will set you back another 250-400€. considering that in the worst case not taking care of any of this can result result in the engine being dead on start it's easy costs to justify. If I can do all this for a tiny m43 engine in my home shop, these guys can do it for a much more expensive and powerful block.
@@ElvianEmpire again, you going to pay for it? It's a "DIY" Rebuild. Backyard, anyone can do it rebuild.
not even check rod clearances ,decking the block by hand, machine the cylinder walls without knowing how is the outcome.
also did you use the same crankshaft?
but they painted the block and head with silver! This alone added not less than 100hps!
@@aakolov at least 100 😀
Didn't measure rod bolt stretch either.
He use the same part or he change new parts for this engine and block ?
Also used pistons from one engine into a new block with only honing and no measuring
The engine definitely was worse for wear when it came in but you guys did an amazing job rebuilding this block absolutely killing it guys 🔥
Im confused - 12:08
Didn’t they replace that blown engine block with a brand new one?
Or did they re-use the one with the holes in it from what looks like a blown rod?…
@@mro4ts457 they definitely used the one with holes, they wanted to make sure all the oil came out before the first start, that's how you know you got a good BMW engine
@@1mawesomel1kethat
😂Tell me about it lol
My fuckin differential is making a whining noise now after I just fixed the brakes and vanos timing.
If it aint broke, it’s not a BMW🤣
Thank you for not using old gaskets. I really appreciate it.
should not use such a hard material on insertion of the pistons. even the slightest improperly vectored shock could permanently deform the piston or worse yet cause disassembly in the rotating assy below the piston or worse yet unseat one of the rings.
Otherwise decent DIY rebuild job. Would also recommend a machine shop handle honing / boring and maybe crank balancing.
Watched the whole video it was truly something. Putting it all back together is my favorite part.
After working with some guys from India I can tell you with enough patience and time almost ANYTHING can be rebuilt even using old used parts even if those parts are broken. Not sure if I would reuse S54 bearing shells but if they are not worn and have good clearance have at it! Just did a light rebuild on an s54 and used lots of used parts but new gaskets.
ok so this was ASMR LOL..... i was like holy shit this is the most peaceful thing ive ever seen lol... watched every second of it.
A rebuilt engine done right is a thing of beauty lads. Blessings from Shropshire.
We need more video like this .....no music no talking ......thanks guys
just brilliant....love the tools, no chat, excellent work. big respect from Mauritius
You guys made it look simple.🙂 But this know it wasn't and to film it at the same time. Outstanding work👏🏾👏🏾
Very professional, restore the car only by itself
no music , perfect engine surgeons doing their stuff .
Wow, when you say blown, you're really not kidding are you. That thing had big enough holes to sink the Titanic.
Pleasure to watch. The younger mechanic is a master 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I love disassembly videos like this. I have learned how to do so much stuff with videos like this.
More ASMR rebuilds please! More more more!!
The most brutal way of dismantling and reassembling any engine, specifically a german motor. Knocking on bolts, and other parts, no regards as if any clearance can get damaged.
You guys are awesome, been watching from the start and you blow me away .zee amazing keep up the channel it’s my go to relaxation mode
How the heck some people can destroy an engine is beyond belief. Thanks for the video; a great job on one of the best engines BMW produced. 🙂
Not keeping up with oil maintenance
You dont know what you're talking about. If they were any good they wouldn't have a recall of all 2001 to 2003 for new rod bearings.2004 cars had the up dated bearings and mine spun a bearing and scratched the crank.Matter of fact the s65 in the e92m3 the s85 in the m5 and m6 are eating their rod bearing too. When rod bearings are wear items the engines are garbage.
The e46 m3 is just a beautiful machine! It really is Art on 4 wheels!
from start to finish in one video. love it!
im already preparing myself to have to do this one day and honestly this is making me look forward to it
im confused ... did you mean 'new engine' ? otherwise you left out the part where you fixed those two holes in the block
One of the best engine rebuild videos I have ever seen on youtube. You sir are a master craftsman. Stumbled upon this video and am glad I did.
wow you did not see many videos huh?
so relaxing to watch when I'm supposed to be working at work lol
Incredible zee congratulations on building a engine which was completely knacker BMW will be getting in touch shortly offering you a job
Interesting to see that they re-use the connecting rods, these are break apart ones that have been matched against each individual rod. I just hope they took the time to match each lower to the rod it came of.
Why wouldn't they?
Con rods are not an item that wears and are only commonly replaced in big power builds.
@@matthewjenkins1161 conrods do wear the big end housing is often found to be out of round especially if an engine has knocked a big end out or a shell has spun in the housing also the small end bush can wear
Pure dedication and talent
Awesome, enjoyed that a lot, many thanks.
I am amazed that you knew how to take the engine out and then take it completely apart. But even more impressed that you knew how to reassemble every piece and get it back in the car!!!!
How many hours for the whole procedure?
Puts my feeble car maintenance efforts to shame.
And I used to have an E46 M3 - fantastic car.
He could of super tuned it too and once that battery was charged… omg heart❤ that baby started right up
Very good video an grate work , step by step , to understand all the beginers. Hello from Romania!
Absolutely incredible superb job best regards to you guys and everyone out there Mark from billericay 😃👍🚗🇬🇧
This young man is mustard at stripping down, would love to learn from him, good work mate 🤝👍👌
Iam from India 🇮🇳🇮🇳 hello
At first I thought, "well at least the block doesn't look beat." But then I saw the tool cart through the other side and said "Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!" LMAO!
FairPlay lads that was a fair bit of work
行云流水,一气呵成。。。太棒了!很了不起膜拜大师。。视频剪辑的超棒,技术一流太羡慕了。。看您的视频简直是一种享受。。。Yes.加油
I loved every second of this video thanks for documenting !
Incredibly satisfying. Great job guys!
I Salute you guys, you are the best mechanics l have ever seen.its my 1st time watching your videos keep it up..
Wow! That's the coolest thing I ever seen for a rebuild. Well done!
A titanic work a real work of art frankly thank you very much I liked the video very good job
i got to say I enjoyed this so much!
Outstanding build guys 👌👌👌
Nice work. I am wondering how long the build did take?
It’s a kind of art, good job 👍
There’s a good chance that a lack of power wasn’t of any concern prior to this minor mishap.
Great video.. thanks for sharing
There is too much smoke coming out from the exhaust. I guess the engine head is not properly installed causing leaks in combustion chamber.
Amazing! Absolutely amazing.
Awesome work (and balls) mates, keep it up!
You guys are incredible. Love seeing the dedication
Amazing video I was just bored scrolling through stuff to watch before bed 😴 but I watched the whole thing I even subscribed great content 💪
a channel worth million subs 🤘

Them youth know them thing hood vuys
Every video of you guys gets me more interested in the automotive field❤️❤️
Would it not be better to put alot of new parts in engine Would need like new then
Fantastic! Congratulations guys!
I'd like to see the 2 huge holes in the block repaired
Did you measure rod bearing clearances? Or the crankshaft? Or cylinder bore after honing? Or how much material you took off when decking the block by hand? Or gap the piston rings at all? Looks like you reused main and rod bolts. Did you measure the stretch? What's the point of using a torque wrench if you use it _after_ hammering every bolt on with an impact?
Engine builds are good when you replace all moving parts that worn out including engine block n cams crank 😂😂😂or slightly down engine with new cam n crank bearing ....adding new piston rings n sleeves .....new valve seats n valves if required.....overalling oil pump etc or buy new one
I was about to purchase a BMW but after watching this video I changed my mind
Smart man
You are building all kinds of cars. Or just BMW
beautiful, i hope the owner will learn how to drive such a beast
U guys did great job. Wonderful video
This is art. Great work
amazing, really enjoyed watching this
superbe vidéo on voit la connaissance de la personne le moteur va sortir combien de chevaux après rodage
Il gère le mécano ! 👍
Amazing work

A sugestion: you guys could enable subtitles indicating what engine part you are dealing with. it would be awesome for people that don't quite understand engines (like me lol)
Amazing job
Amazing!!! Great job.
beautiful job guys. A pleassure to watch
bro was fighting the urge to re-use the oil filter
너무나 잘 보고갑니다 좋은영상에 감사합니다
Awesome video!
Awesome job!
Yet another outstanding job! Amazing! I really look forward to these video's,
I mean wouldn't you clean the coolant surfaces, resurface the block. Tape up the coolant poets before honing the cylinder. Just so debrid is less likely to fall in ?
Amazing job..
amazing job
هاذي الي يريد عنوانه بغداد الشيخ عمر يم نعمان ابو الجري 👌
TOTALLY AWESOME!
FIRST CLASS MECHANICS NICE CLEAN PUT TOGATHER ENGINE ALL WIRING AND EOU SIDE PLUMING INSTALLE EVERY THING INSTALLED PROPERLY
Nice ! Loved it ! 👍👍👍
Awesome video
wow , hi from romania !
I was kinda intrigued...no measurements of clearances, tolerances or you didn't put it on video? Like in the crankshaft bearings etc? I mean, some plastigauge and a couple tools ain't that expensive and are fundamental when rebuilding an engine. Anyway, congrats on the effort.
I admire how they know about everything where it goes, they are true professionals😏i dont know how the engine is built😅
Very good job well done for knowing how to do that, nuff respect 🙏🏼 mad skillz
Alas poor Rodney, i knew him Horatio.
Awesome vid.Thanks for sharing.
the best channel !
did you repair the block, or did you throw it away?
Good editing
