Dame Julie Andrews is pure class. She gets it. What a great representation she is of what a gracious performer should be. Not to mention talented, elegant, kind, beautiful, and down to earth. Wonderful acceptance speech, and a well deserved honor!
This made me cry, i have loved Julie Andrews since i was a toddler. Just hearing her voice brings back hundreds of beautiful memories of my mum and i singing along and watching her together.
This woman is EVERY INCH of BEAUTY, TALENT, GENEROSITY AND GOODNESS. A real gift to humanity. It's her award and her moment, and still she takes the time to give us one of the best acceptance speeches ever and teaches us about the wonder of making movies with her familiar voice that keep us mesmerized! What a great beloved Lady!

The fact that her voice still sounds so fresh, vibrant, and lively after all these years is amazing
I'm once again struck by how freely and properly she can speak, without notes or filler words and repetition, just pleasant, fluent speech. One hears so many people nowadays who couldn't string a proper sentence together even if their life depended on it. I'm very well aware that this is not an essential quality actors and directors need to have-writing and holding -but every once in a while it is nice when it's done by someone who is actually capable of it.
I still cry during the Sound of Music. Thank You Ms. Julie.

Now THAT ladies and gentlemen is CLASS!!!! Just the fact that she mentioned and thanked all of the behind the scenes workers tells you a great deal about this legends heart and appreciation….sad part is I know there were many in that audience that it fell on deaf ears….she gets it…she knows it takes everyone to get the job done…many in that audience are only concerned about themselves…they could learn how to truly be a star from her…if their egos would let them….she is a LEGEND!!!
She has such a great story-telling ability. Extremely charismatic.
