No because I literally remember things that happened years and years ago because they somehow impacted my life or traumatized me, but I can not for the life of me remember things I studied or other stuff like that
I'm also a INFP. I'm 36 now and can recall many things when I'm below 2years old. But the memory alone is not the curse. It's the powerful feelings attached to the memory.
I can relate. I remembered characters in a tv soap which ended when I was 2 yrs old. My mum was astonished. I remember conversations from 40 years ago. BUT, I have trouble remembering what I did 2 days ago.
i was in the same place when i would get different results, chances are mp you arent in a stable place rn and like when i was finally kinda stable or atleast when i had a somewhat sense of “myself” i finally realised i was actually an infj (initially infp when was ‘lost’) however it took time for me to convince myself that lol since i didnt relate with several things yet the basic functions were pretty much infj basically if you are confused, infj : you can come across as “serious, put together” yet you don’t relate with that and you know you aren’t that as you seem infp : you seem to others more “restless, messy, open minded etc.” yet you know you arent that messy or pretty rigid than as you seem
also would like to add that usually when we feel like we are some other type, usually we are identifying with our “insecurities” more so childhood traumas.. (as in my case i thought i was infp as i wanted ppl’s attention, ‘wanted to play life by my rules’, etc. basically wanted to have infp qualities)
INFJ sees the inside world Infp sees the outside world Both are predominantly introverted So INFJ internalizes the inside abstract Infp internalizes their focus on what they see outside of themselves
@@SuccessForBreakfast all of my temperament knowledge began in 1976 with my discovery of Hippocrates 4 base temperaments Which we all have in various amounts and order of predominance All temperament observation is gleaned from this base 4 ,2 differing introverts and 2 differing extroverts The melancholy intro and Sanguine extro reference their inside abstract world The phlegmatic intro and choleric extro are focused on the material world, outside of themselves This diametrically opposite focus is well illustrated in the difference between the material Jewish pharasees and the internally spiritual focus of Christ Or the spiritual prodigal son Whose material focused brother who relies on tradition could not see the absence of forgiveness in his material heart Or the material dominated world system standard of government opposed to the spiritual church
@@Nick-Nasty He told me he is an INFJ. He is emotional ,easy to be angry. He look nice and polite though. He is self centered. I think he is a NPD. We broke up manyt imes. Now we haven't talk for one month already. I dont know what to do. I want talk seriously, but he never gave me time to talk about our relationship. It's a long story, will be too long to write here. He is very religious too.
I'm an INFJ, and I think a major difference in an INFP and INFJ isn't just introversion , but the difference in shyness and coldness. I feel like INFJs come off as more aloof and cold whereas INFPs are more shy?
So many people here disagree about being attracted to their opposite types, but I totally am! I’m an INFP who really admires high Te users like ESTJs. I feel it. It’s respect for people who excel at the thing we wish we had more of.
I am an INFP by testing, but carry many of the INFJ traits. None of us are all one thing. I think logically and systematically and systemically and solve problems this way, though I am not that good at higher math. I read people very well and also love to teach. I often know when something is going to happen before it does. I don't know why and cannot predict when this will happen. My language skills are superb but I don't especially like to write. My home is my castle and sanctuary but I also love to travel and interact with people. Others say I listen to them and calm them. They say I "see" them. My morals and ethics come from my faith and reason and I constantly test them with the real world and against other belief systems. This is the scientific thing to do. My morals and ethics are strong and consistent and not easily swayed. I work with many different kinds of people and get along well with others but also maintain strong boundaries. I care for others but don't wish to save the world. I do not consider myself to be an artist, though have acted on occasion, sang, played instruments, and am adept at some sports. I see forests before I see trees. I prefer to. My demeanor is generally up. People say I smile a lot, when they see me at all. I am often overlooked. In fact I often surprise people because they don't know I am there. I have nicknames at work: Ninja, Batman. I don't sneak up on people on purpose. I am just quiet and unassuming. I like being in the background. When asked, I usually have the answer to the question others are asking, but I don't want credit for it; and I answer in such a way that others start talking and moving on in the conversation so it is not noticed. I also have vivid memories from my early childhood when I was 3, 4, 5 and 6. Some are traumatic, but not all. These videos are great because they help quench my never ending curiosity to grow. I always learn something new from them. Thank you. By the way, I was attracted to and married an INTP. We have been married for over 40 years. Can you say soulmate and best friend? My spouse does say that I seek validation. Is this an INFJ trait? Writing this much shows passion, which is an INFP trait.
The tests aren't all that accurate. I think you should examine the cognitive functions and decide from there. A lot of what you said about yourself I can relate to as an INFJ--and a lot of it seems like characteristics that both types could have. "My morals and ethics come from my faith and reason and I constantly test them with the real world and against other belief systems." This seems like introverted intuition looping with introverted thinking to me.
Thank you for taking the time to explain yourself so well, i can relate to every bit of what you have said. Unfortunately i still cant pinpoint exactly who i am as far as types go maybe i never will . My faith has become a product of what makes sense to me out of what comes from history but its incomplete to say the least. My earliest memories are from the age of 3, and 4. They are both positive and negative but stay emotionally bound. I hold onto the past with all that i have but i look to the future for "guidance" if u will. I feel its illogical to not help others as it seems to be the best way to create a better future for us all. I dont have much point in my statement i just felt like sharing lol. Thanks again.
I feel like INFP (mainly) and INFJ hybrid with a hint of ENFP, too (that's who I was many years ago). I don't think there is one clear line between the personality traits, instead these lines are thick, blurry and overlapping and you could very well manifest a complex personality with some traits associated with a different personality type, than one, you generally fit into. I firmly believe this, because otherwise - would personality change even be possible? So this personality test result could be best taken as a guidline, not a law necessarily. :)
I am INFJ and so Is my daughter. Both my sons are INFP…. My daughter and I are more chameleon and practical … my sons will not be swayed by others in many cases. My daughter is a teacher !
I’d have to agree with most of your assessment. My brother is INFP-A, I’m older and INFJ-T. Despite so much similarity, we spent so many decades arguing about the same thing because we look at a subject from opposite endpoints
-INFP-A here. I disagree with the " being attracted to ESTJ and ENTJ Te" types. I've had friends/acquaintances of those types, never deep though. I find Te to be boring. It's just chores, I just don't care. I don't know what your sources are for this but it's not helpful. ESTJ is probably the worst relationship an INFP could have, imagine dating someone with no interest in MBTI haha. That being said ESTJs can be ok acquaintances but there's no intimacy on any level long term. ESTP, ENTP, INFJ, ENFJ, INTP are better long term choices. ESFP maybe but just for flings haha
I agree. As INFP-T 2w1 Male I would prefer xNFx female meaning - INFP, ENFP, INFJ or ENFJ. Mainly because they have the greatest posibility to truly understand ME.... witch is very important for me )) ESTP? I dunno..Isnt Amber Heard and Donald Trump ESTP??? I would stay away from those heh.. Just look how unlucky JD (INFP) was with ESTP girl.
I think I disagree with INFPs being drawn to ESTJs though. Inferior TE does make me insecure that people might think I’m ditzy but I’m more drawn to Ti users. I feel like we get along better. I tend to like ESTPs and ENFJs the best. Sometimes ENTPs. ESTJs and even ISTJs at times always seem mean and harsh and not at all empathetic with no regard for anyone’s feelings and I feel like I never really get along with ESTJs and rarely get along with ISTJs. I know in my mind ESTJs have strengths I don’t have but it’s hard for me to be around them a lot of the times. Sometimes I can get along with EnTJs though.
As an INFJ, I have a cursory attraction to Se types, but not very good experience actually being able to relate to them... I never feel like I can be "cool" enough. So I relate to what you're saying.
Hm, I always test as an INFP and find myself consistent with what the Internet claims them to be. But at three out of the five things listed (and the fifth being neither because I am ace) I could identify better with the INFJ PoV and now I am more.confused than before lol
How is your test score on J vs. P? If you score near the dividing line between the two, that may explain it, because you may have some significant J aspects.
So, when I took this test years ago, I tested as an INFP. Then, I worked with an unusual mentor doing this letting go of beliefs thing for years. When I retested, I got INFJ. I felt like a lot of my responses looking back were based on trauma. I'm not saying Ps have trauma and Js don't. But that was just an interesting observation.
Hello great job. 👏🏾 this video demonstrates your amazing insight and research of the differences of the INFJ and INFP. What an amazing talent you have there. This is quite unique in the personality videos I have seen so far.
Wow, thank you so much for that huge compliment. 🙌🏻 I work hard to make the best content possible, so it means a lot to get comments like this. I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and for taking the time to leave a comment 🙂👍🏻
My daughter is an INFP and I am an INTJ, extrovert thinking I guess. She admires her best friends (ESTP+ESTJ) and says things like "Mom, almost anybody is smarter and bolder than I am, I feel like the biggest loser on earth, really. And you are eveb a little bit scary when you explain every fu***** subject to me after reading it 10 seconds and me hanging on for hours re-reading the same page". I always tell her, look, you talk little and think deeper than anybody else, and even you are not learning at home at all you master school somehow. You are so crazy intuitive and talented, when you talk everybody is listening and everything you say is really true. People gather round you without your afford and want to be your friends, because everybody counts on you and wants your opinion, because you are way smarter and deeper analytical than most of the people. Than she smiles and is simply happy and cute, because she knows its true.
As an INFJ, my memory is superb. My earliest memory was climbing up and dancing on the kitchen table. My mom told me I wasn’t even walking yet. I started walking at 9 mo. I have many memories of my little self.
9months wow. I'm an INFP, I remember learning to walk my then teenage cousins were helping me but I don't know how many months I was. Now I want to ask my mom
I don’t have anything that early, but close. I remember an accident my great-grandmother had, while carrying my baby brother down the stairs. He was still a newborn at the time, and we are only 13 months apart in age. I couldn’t have been even 18 months, when this happened. So, yeah, I’m not sure I agree with INFPs having superior memory either
For the most part, they were. She turned with the fall to protect my brother, but the turn caused her to land on her side. She shattered her left femur, and it had to be replaced with a metal pipe. The pipe caused her some pain, but it never slowed her down. And she never spoke spitefully about the accident either. She was only ever grateful Blake was okay. Merry Christmas to you too
INFP here. It’s not that we don’t care about others feelings or well being when making decisions, it’s that we won’t allow ourselves to be pressured by others into making decisions that are wrong for ourselves or just wrong in general. Example, I had a family member try to pressure me into making a financial purchase for an item they thought was a better choice than my chosen item. But this family member was going by their feelings, they hadn’t actually done any research on the item they were trying to pressure me into buying while I had done research and I had compared items and prices then based on that information I made my choice about the item I wanted to buy. But this family member was so adamant they were right and I was wrong. But I never let their feelings and arguments (and they were constantly arguing with me about this issue) deter me from purchasing my chosen item. I thought I would give context to this video’s statement that ‘infps don’t care about others feelings and well being when making decisions.’ By the way, I think an INFJ would have caved to my family member because INFJ’s have that “disease” to please issue when others are concerned.
Thank you for clarifying that. I had gone on a date with an INFP and he couldn't take the same hurt he gave, and I can tell his decision was very self-serving vs. us INFJs take others feelings into consideration when making a decision. It's good for you to stick to your grounds, we INFJs just make decisions that take into account how we would feel in that person's shoes, how our actions affect others. We don't make decisions at the detriment of others because that's not how we want to be treated. We're considerate of others but that doesn't mean we let others make decisions for us. But in your last statement, don't confuse our open-mindedness with being pushovers. We will take into consideration different ideas and points, but also keep in mind that we use an equal amount of logic AND emotion. We will not change our minds if what the other person has said has no logic to it, we can switch back and forth between the 2, no problem. Also there's a vast difference between an immature INFJ and mature INFJ.
INFJ here and I have to push back a little. An INFJ will definitely not fall in line with someone else's opinion when it goes against what we have analytically evaluated to be the better choice. If that offends someone then so be it (although I hate it). In your example, I would stick to the choice like you but ponder how this will make the other person feel like and prepare in my mind how I could most effectively convey my decision-making process so they would get why I consider this item to be ideal for me. I assume an INFP would avoid the argument altogether and escape the situation. As an INFJ I hate to argue but I also hate not to bring my message across so I stand my ground, try to effectively argue in a way I can be hopefully understood (by trying to see it from the other's perspective), and defintely won't just fall in line to avoid conflict. (Unless the matter is so minor that it's not worth my energy to argue.) I think the difference between INFJs and INFPs is not that one is more of a pushover than the other but that INFJs want that others can follow their thought process while INFPs don't care if others ultimately get it. (Or they doubt that they could bring it across anyway.) (INFPs might _wish_ that others would get them but won't invest a lot of energy in achieving that.) Was a bit tough to explain and English is only my 2nd language but I tried my best.
Also INFP. Dealing with control/policing behavior is mentally exhausting. Mother-in-law is like that. Flipped out because I have an appointment when she’s on vacation. Background info Blind epileptic. I told her my neurology appointment is my priority. You’re not the only one with the drivers license. Thanks to my dad‘s side overtime. I’ve learned as a woman to become more assertive. For the record I have a very observant on spot neurologist. He put my thoughts into his words. “She’s a seizure trigger.“ To which I replied great minds think alike. We just laughed about it. She’s shown up there uninvited to the point of me sending an email asking the Neurology Department that if she is wreaking havoc and causing discomfort to patients in the waiting room. Why don’t you kick her out? No longer welcome in the Neurology Department. Plus, he cannot stand her. There’s only so long you can play peacemaker between two people before the tension is a little too high. She’s very overbearing and dominant and he’s someone who can get easily emotionally and mentally overwhelmed. Best way to keep the peace make sure that she’s kicked out and stays away. Dealing with this for seven years was enough lol
number 5 is wrong... INFPs do consider other people´s feelings and it can absolutely change our decisions, we're not freaking sociopaths :) it doesn't mean I'll feel happy and fulfilled to make that decision, but if what I want t do would hurt my loved ones then I won't do it even if I don't get what I want. We are genuine to our feelings, but we also have feelings of love and empathy for others. The rest are pretty accurate I think. Although I find ESTJs to be supper annoying, I'm about to marry an ISTJ. It's even a better match objectively, still has Te, but it's also introverted and more chill than ESTJ :)
Two rules are applied when taking a decision for an INFP. 1) does it go against my values and 2) Does it have a negative impact on others. It's only when both are satisfied that I will take a good decision
@@yannickjoorun6694 I think this is a good point. Maybe the video just stated the difference too strongly. I think for an INFJ the decision goes 1) Does it have a negative impact on others and 2) does it go against my values, and that flipping of those priorities is the main difference. I think the difference is quite subtle, but I really envy my INFP friends their quiet sense of autonomy. I wish I was less influenced by what other people think or feel. It's not always a good thing.
I am unfortunately INFP/INFJ-T. Test says INFP-T with T being 86%. I swing all over both types depending on a million factors, mostly with my moods and meds.
@@bamarang2.069 Yep! Hard to tell because I have learned to be great at things like public speaking and making friends, when it goes hard against my nature. Hard to figure out the right answers for the tests of these type.
INFP & INFJ are very different. Agree with all your great insights, and need to rewatch to reflect on them. I’m INFP and live in the past apparently, and I do find ENTJ & ESTJ fascinating, also ESTPs. I find INFJs aloof, selective, judgmental, passive aggressive, super organisers but controlling, committed and private. They do not like us INFPs or ISFPs, they hate our nonconformity, need for change, idealism and openness.
I'm a die hard Infj dealing with a male pursuer ....Infp. Our likenesses brought us together and or difference keeps us apart. And I'm right! Because I see what will work and what doesn't work. J..judgement, while he ignores obstacles abrasions and inevitable troubles in favor of his whimsy stuck in the ..P...past personal interest. The problem is he is domineering determined and I am submissive. I can get pulled into this knowing it will tear us up!!!!! And it wouldn't be the first time. Yes we infjs submit to others wishes at our own hurt.
I disagree about the decision-making. The dynamics and goals of family and friends will always impact decision making because it's part of our belief that we must be supportive. Supportiveness is what builds relationships and trust. And the sending attraction I also disagree with. It's true many MBTI Types can cause conflict with each other and myself. But when any type shows vulnerabilities and the potential for change, I find myself attracted to that. My closest friend, for example is an INTJ. I disliked him at our first encounter because I felt they were arrogant and distant. After poking their buttons and creating a connection where they felt comfortable talking with me, we became very close friends. Even to this day. Likewise my mother is likely an ISTJ, and my older brother is an INFJ. My relationship with them is complicated because I tend to mediate the family dynamics, trust, and trauma. But my relationship with my brother is like a rollercoaster. My mother also has trauma but she reminds me that I make value in her life. That's my point, as long as you try to communicate with anyone a relationship is always possible. Likewise my younger brother is an ENFJ!
I think I am an INFP, but am not sure if I am INFP or INFJ & I have to say these videos don't help me personally. Rather, they make me more confused! Especially the bit about logical systems. Well, I ALWAYS apply logical reasoning to my internal thought processes! And I literally did a maths degree and was always very good at maths, physics (& music - which in studying it has mathematical elements.) So I use logic, naturally a lot both in how I think about personal moral decisions and in a technical sense. And even when taking in something like nature or art, I think about the past, I instinctively feel deep truths and I reason, using logic to collect and extrapolate meanings that affect me. I feel like I use Ne and Ni? These facts, from this description make me feel "Well does this mean I must be an INFJ"??? But I think I am an INFP...??? Yours, confused!
Thanks!! I'm an INFJ but always mis-typed as INFP. ++May I ask if you can tell Tom Hiddlestone's real personality type? I'm still not convinced that he's an INFP. For me, I feel like he's an INFJ like me and what makes me think and feel about that is the way he talk, explain about something and the way he stares at someone especially when listening. What I'm convinced is Johnny Depp is trully an INFP. Thanks!
Now I truly believe that I'm an INFP, because yes I'm more likely to be attracted to ENTJs and ESTJs, both were my exes, but being with ENTJ is much easier than with ESTJ lol
INFP-A I witnessed a car accident and was called by the insurance company for details. Adjuster: What date did the accident happen? Me: Ummm.....I don't even know what day today is..... The red truck was really clean and had very shiny chrome trim!
Makes complete sense to Thay have a lot of similarities but difference in big ways I'm most definitely a I N F P that's what the test confirmed anyway explains a lot for me thank you 💙
Heard recently that the infj isn't the rarest anymore.... it was either enfj or entj now... my INFJ friend likes to claim people just answer the questions so they can be an infj becausethey want to feel rare and special.... I think the more people do the tests the more data they have... the more data the closer we are to the truth.
I can see why you would think that. However, I will say I know quite a bit about typing and I have a two friends I personally know who tested INFj and both are very clearly not. One of them is so clearly an ISTJ I can’t imagine how she could possibly believe she is an INFJ. I like literally baffles me. The other is an ISFJ which I can understand a little more why he would think this but even he admits the INFj personality does not fit him completely but that’s what they both tested. In addition to this there is RUclipsr I watch who has done INFJ videos for years. He recently had the guts to get tested by a professional and found he was an ISFJ and he agreed that made much more sense. But it took him years to figure this out. I don’t think people purposefully test INFJ to be special or anything like that. I think perhaps the test may not be the best as it rarely gets people dead on. It usually just gets them close to their type but I also think people just don’t always know themselves very well. They assume if their awkward or don’t fit in they are INFJ and that is usually not the case. I also think A lot of STJs tend to test INFJ bc they pick the answer they think is the right answer not what they themselves would actually do. With that said, ENTj is the type they now claim is the most rare however I personally know 3 ENTJs (I love them!) but meeting an authentic INFJ is a rarity. So I personally think Carl Jung got it right but I believe most people just need to be tested professionally to get the right type or perhaps test with a close friend or family member who can help give them perspective or actually take the time to learn about psychology but I understand it’s a lot. These are just my thoughts 😊.
@@ComplicatedSimplicite Hey I agree with you. I feel like the lack of self awareness/ self knowledge will be one of many reasons many people are being mistyped themselves. I feel like the rareness and the “balanced persona of being intelligent , empathetic, and super intuitive .” makes the INFJ type is oftenly idolized therefore many people subconsciously wanna have the fuckin label, which is so understandable you know, hehe. All I know living as an INFJ feels like a curse rather than seeing it as a good thing to me Feeling alienated since childhood-> adulthood years because our introverted intuition + Introverted thinking is an incredibly painful experience! I mean we were so confused with our intuition or even blamed ourselves for being so weird or crazy because we saw something most people missed out (figuratively not literally, I mean we are not ghostbusters hahahahaha) It feels like we never fit in. Being an outsider, being the black sheep in this ignorant, materialistic, stupid world. Extraverted feeling feels like we are always a stranger to ourselves, I never see myself as myself, instead my mind constantly analyze me as the third person which caused a massive existential crisis and self esteem problems. Constantly Being misunderstood, and taken for granted, plus our nature who hates conflicts are the main reasons why “door slams” happens oftenly because 1. We are complicated human beings who needs some unrealistic alone time. 2. honestly some people (not all, but some) just dont know how to be respectful of other’s boundaries. This means losing many friends, opportunities and possibly loved ones too. I’m telling you, this shit hits me so hard! INFJs are always “in our head” because we suck at processing our “sensing” function. Lets say If a zombie attack ever happens, INFJs will eventually survive for the next 5 years thanks to our super weird- yoda intuition lol, but will die right away for some stupid reasons cz our famously 0-practical skill, maybe hahahaha. INFJs are called intelligent but also has a really unusual decision making and thinking process which honestly freaks people out, so called super logical but also can be so naive sometimes, fucking social but also so distant and cold as hell, feeling superior but selfless as fck, the dark sense of humor but also self depreciating, you name it! One thing that I’m so sure tho: INFJs are not happy people and we are, in fact the lonely bitches inside because we are so harsh to ourselves, we are perfectionist to the core, so complicated and distant, most importantly because our brain never fuckin stop thinking. Never. always Fuckin analyze something. Always. Think about something. Always. And this is hella frustrating and tiring as fck! So If people think being an INFJ somehow feels like having “sweet dreams”, for me its a Marilyn Manson version of of sweet dreams hahahahah Infj is an alien to the world and most importantly to themselves. This can be interpreted both figuratively and literally. We never tell you guys but we are secretly the “Gandalf unicorn”. I mean, judging by the way we think, we sound so old, reserved, knowledgeable and look tired most of the time but at the same time our heart is so youthful, cute and wise Hahahah Ps: I dont have any evidence so i can be wrong, but my super weird voodoo doll tell me that “INFJ” personality is indeed the rarest or maybe the second rarest type in this world. It’s so fucking rare to find a person i can relate to. Hahaha but again, I can be wrong tho. Peace out! Love, Farragoes
Infp is the most introverted of all having the phlegmatic super introvert as dominant and the melancholy ordinary introvert as secondary with choleric third and Sanguine fourth The second most introvert has the Sanguine as third and choleric in fourth I call them double predominant introvert They attract the double predominant extroverts like estj The other double the introvert is the intj with melancholy dominant and phlegmatic secondary The INFJ is melancholy dominant with the Sanguine extrovert as secondary This places them in the middle as the most extroverted introvert while the doubles are at either extreme
I have to disagree with your analysis. First, a phlegmatic is an NT. All NF are melancholies. If someone an NF but has a high T score then they are borderline phlegmatic. The key difference between the melancholy and the phlegmatic is whether they are an F or a T. Second, I see NF's and SJ's (cholerics) as the most strongly opposed to each other with the most potential for conflict. NF's are high in creativity and openness to experience, just the exact opposite of the SJ or choleric who hates both of these characteristics as well as the lack of conceptual thinking in the SJ that is high in the NF.
@@christophergraves6725 thanks Chris. So nice to see I'm not alone in study of Hippocrates four base temperaments. I have to agree with your view on difference between melancholy and phlegmatic. Also good accurate description of difference between cholerics and melancholy 1976 introduced to Dr Tim Lahayes book understanding the male temperament
@@christophergraves6725 also check out Irini Rockwell's book,The five wisdom temperaments. The most complete explanation of certain base temperaments in particular her Buddha temperament is phlegmatic, Ratna melancholy, Padma sanguine. Vajra melancholy and choleric dominant. Karma cholerics, sanguine with melancholy third. Mb also helpful,I tend to think Hippocrates gave us the lowest common denominator. Phlegmatic super introvert the sensing material world internalized Melancholy ordinary introvert the abstract intuitive world internalized Choleric orderinary extrovert external focus on exterior sensing material world similar to phlegmatic Sanguine super extrovert external expression of internal world of abstract intuition (dreamers) like melancholy
I am an infj but i wish i was an infp for 1 main reason that infps love to keep things open amd beleive beyond logic and not draw similarities and connections and form patterns or subconciously look for it and their internal compass for their beleif system is priority for them over others feelings. Gosh i wish i could be like that. Its the difference between succeeding on your own goals vs waiting for everyone to get there first and that being the infjs green signal to go for their own ambitions. Dislike it. There has to be a better balance. If the infp and infj aggregrated their traits for the perfect in between i feel that would be an ideal human . My stupid logic here but yes thats what i feel. And no i really dislike estps and secretly find them to be ridiculous most of the time but theyre callous and spontaniety is hilarious at times and i do enjoy esfps for the most part as they just have a lot of fun and theyre the other type i would want to be if im not constantly bogged down by analysis and intrepretations and predictions of the future. I think infps dont care too much about that stuff and its really admirable and i dont care that people accuse them of being illogical , they live life on their terms and are more likely to fulfill their hearts needs eventually over other types and thats a success in my books . Eitherways were all good in our own ways. No harm intended to the estps if any of you read that part, its all in good fun . And good luck to us all. 😊
As an INFP, I am least attracted to ESTJ and ENTJs. I’d also say that we’re more analytical than given credit for…I am an engineer after all (although not a very good one).
@Samuel Claiborne I absolutely agree and that's exactly what my video goes into detail about. There is a misconception that the 1 letter difference in their personality preferences makes them almost the same - which they aren't. As I'm sure you know, they have zero cognitive functions in common. INFJ uses introverted intuition as their dominant, while INFP uses extroverted intuition as their dominant. It continues down the entire cognitive stack. So, your absolutely right - is far from simply being binary. I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and for leaving a comment 👍🏻 🙂
I think looking at the cognitive functions is more meaningful than just the four characteristics on a spectrum... because you can actually fall on the other side a little bit (Be an INFP that scores 53% J, for example). What makes it even more confusing is that the 53% J result comes from answering subjective questions about how you understand yourself--and INFPs are more likely to see themselves as decisive (J) because their dominant function (Fi) is a judging function--internally, INFPs are judgers (according to the theory). The "J/P" in the acronym only refers to which type of function is extroverted (Fe/Ne). That last letter (J/P) was added to Jung's original system by Myers and Briggs. It can really confuse things--especially for introverts who live most of their life inside their heads.
I’m an Infj woman and I’m talking to this Infp guy. He’s so cute and sweet but he says things that doesn’t make sense and I feel like we’ll keep arguing in the future 😓 does anyone have the same dynamic in a relationship?
One statement is wrong! Other's people feelings do very much affect on making decisions of INFPs (we are feelers after all), BUT other's opinion DON'T, until it is validated by our own standards. INFP here. We just like all good people to be happy, just as we want it for ourselves. We don't put our happiness fist, we put our system of thoughts as most important, when we check all sides and all possibilities.
No, No, No on matching with the opposite sex across the N/S divide. If you think more conceptually, you will not get along with someone who is an S more than very superficially. The N/S difference is the main divide among temperaments. This cannot be bridged in intimate relationships.
I feel like this info is not the best to identify someone based on their personalities type. I have boh INFJ and INFP traits and I know that I have both works with me so I'm fine with it. I also tend to draw in people who are more introverted instead of extrovert. Even though I can balance the two out.
Who do you think worries more about physicall apperance? Would INFJ boy be mad when he fails to lift certain weight? And who would be more stereotypical in terms of love/marriage?
@@goteamslugs INFJ men are masculine. I am assuming what you mean by "stereotypical" male is a Choleric (SJ), not as intellectual or creative--just enforce the norms without reflection. Temperament is distinct from a person's sex.
@@christophergraves6725 Right. I suppose because blandon93 used the word mad. I thought of extreme anger. Perhaps disappointed is a more appropriate term in this context? Something like that would be more of an annoyance than provocative.
Yet... you watched the video. In what sense does it not matter? I agree that you can live a happy life without understanding MBTI, but I think there's evidence to say that some people do live happier lives because MBTI helped them to understand themselves better. 🤔

Yet they can be great partners,
As an INFP my memory is sometimes a curse. I remember things from 2 decades ago. I even have memories when i was not 5 years old yet.
No because I literally remember things that happened years and years ago because they somehow impacted my life or traumatized me, but I can not for the life of me remember things I studied or other stuff like that
Me.too
😁🤦😂😂
I'm also a INFP. I'm 36 now and can recall many things when I'm below 2years old. But the memory alone is not the curse. It's the powerful feelings attached to the memory.
I can relate. I remembered characters in a tv soap which ended when I was 2 yrs old. My mum was astonished. I remember conversations from 40 years ago. BUT, I have trouble remembering what I did 2 days ago.
I have learned that I'm a weird cross between INFP and INFJ.
i was in the same place when i would get different results, chances are mp you arent in a stable place rn and like when i was finally kinda stable or atleast when i had a somewhat sense of “myself” i finally realised i was actually an infj (initially infp when was ‘lost’)
however it took time for me to convince myself that lol since i didnt relate with several things yet the basic functions were pretty much infj
basically if you are confused,
infj : you can come across as “serious, put together” yet you don’t relate with that and you know you aren’t that as you seem
infp : you seem to others more “restless, messy, open minded etc.” yet you know you arent that messy or pretty rigid than as you seem
also would like to add that usually when we feel like we are some other type, usually we are identifying with our “insecurities” more so childhood traumas..
(as in my case i thought i was infp as i wanted ppl’s attention, ‘wanted to play life by my rules’, etc. basically wanted to have infp qualities)
My MBTI = E 51/I 49 P 52/J 48. I'm close to the median in both E/I AND P/J. It's common for me to switch functions easily and often.

INFPJ, the best, IN F'ing PJs
INFJ sees the inside world
Infp sees the outside world
Both are predominantly introverted
So INFJ internalizes the inside abstract
Infp internalizes their focus on what they see outside of themselves
That's a really great way to put that. Really appreciate your insight!

I share the same point of view ! ~INFP
Shyness isn't really related to introversion or personality types at all rly

INFP here. I'm not really attracted to extroverted types. I gravitate more towards INTPs, INFPs, INFJs, and ISFJs.
Yes, I'm the same.
Yesss, as an INFJ I'm def more attracted to other introverted types.
Yup I’m INFJ and am attracted to other IN types. The only extroverted type I think I enjoy (in general) is ENTP
Hi, INFJ here!
Me too. Husband is.INTP
So many people here disagree about being attracted to their opposite types, but I totally am! I’m an INFP who really admires high Te users like ESTJs. I feel it. It’s respect for people who excel at the thing we wish we had more of.
3:55: - "...their distinguished personal history will almost certainly accompany them, and occasionally torment them, throughout their lives"
Finally!! An INFP that sound exactly like myself.
I think you are an INFJ.
I agree,
ESTJS seem too judgmental to me.
I’m an INFP and I honestly can not stand ExTx types if not only for a very short period of time, I would gladly prefer xxFx types over xxTx ones
@@DagToreLarsen I agree with you on the choices, I would prefer xNFx to date too
Imagine being basically in between INFJ and INFP (that's me) 😂
I think I disagree with INFPs being drawn to ESTJs though.
Yeah, I thought something similar, they can come across as too robotic.
Same i relate to most of the infj ones apart from the last two
How is your test score on J vs. P? If you score near the dividing line between the two, that may explain it, because you may have some significant J aspects.
Have you looked into the cognitive functions? They are actually quite revealing... better than the tests.
Same
So, when I took this test years ago, I tested as an INFP. Then, I worked with an unusual mentor doing this letting go of beliefs thing for years. When I retested, I got INFJ. I felt like a lot of my responses looking back were based on trauma. I'm not saying Ps have trauma and Js don't. But that was just an interesting observation.
Boy, this is so useful!! I’ve been waiting for this for years!! Literally almost two decades! I can finally know for sure I am an INFJ.
Me as an INFJ-A woman, can say clearly that an INFP man is the best match for me
Still not sure. I seem to have traits of both.

@@kylewood2715 that’s a very early memory! I hope your grandma and brother were ok. Merry Christmas, 🎄
Example,
I had a family member try to pressure me into making a financial purchase for an item they thought was a better choice than my chosen item.
I thought I would give context to this video’s statement that ‘infps don’t care about others feelings and well being when making decisions.’
By the way, I think an INFJ would have caved to my family member because INFJ’s have that “disease” to please issue when others are concerned.
🎯 Exactly!
(Unless the matter is so minor that it's not worth my energy to argue.)
I think the difference between INFJs and INFPs is not that one is more of a pushover than the other but that INFJs want that others can follow their thought process while INFPs don't care if others ultimately get it. (Or they doubt that they could bring it across anyway.) (INFPs might _wish_ that others would get them but won't invest a lot of energy in achieving that.)
Was a bit tough to explain and English is only my 2nd language but I tried my best.
@@anival9576 I don't think the other way around is always a good think either. Not being influenced enough by others can be dangerous.

My husband is an ESTJ and my one INFP son in particular seems to get along really well with him.
Especially weak and submissive if I do like them
Well I have to say I'm not an absolute INFP - Sometimes, INTP and INFJ also describes a part of my personality.
INFP-T: The world is emotionally exhaustive, and there is the never ending search to solve the singular problem.
Right there with you in that vast (for me, anyway) sea of confusion about these two types.

Thanks!
As an INFP personality I would just like to say the women in this video are really hot. But I would never tell them.
Because they are strangers.
Now I truly believe that I'm an INFP, because yes I'm more likely to be attracted to ENTJs and ESTJs, both were my exes, but being with ENTJ is much easier than with ESTJ lol

All I know living as an INFJ feels like a curse rather than seeing it as a good thing to me
Feeling alienated since childhood-> adulthood years because our introverted intuition + Introverted thinking is an incredibly painful experience! I mean we were so confused with our intuition or even blamed ourselves for being so weird or crazy because we saw something most people missed out (figuratively not literally, I mean we are not ghostbusters hahahahaha)
It feels like we never fit in.
One thing that I’m so sure tho:
INFJs are not happy people and we are, in fact the lonely bitches inside because we are so harsh to ourselves, we are perfectionist to the core, so complicated and distant, most importantly because our brain never fuckin stop thinking. Never. always Fuckin analyze something. Always. Think about something. Always. And this is hella frustrating and tiring as fck!
So If people think being an INFJ somehow feels like having “sweet dreams”, for me its a Marilyn Manson version of of sweet dreams hahahahah
Infj is an alien to the world and most importantly to themselves. This can be interpreted both figuratively and literally. We never tell you guys but we are secretly the “Gandalf unicorn”. I mean, judging by the way we think, we sound so old, reserved, knowledgeable and look tired most of the time but at the same time our heart is so youthful, cute and wise Hahahah
Ps: I dont have any evidence so i can be wrong, but my super weird voodoo doll tell me that “INFJ” personality is indeed the rarest or maybe the second rarest type in this world. It’s so fucking rare to find a person i can relate to. Hahaha but again, I can be wrong tho.
Peace out!
Love,
Farragoes
Infj is still the rarest among men though
@@ComplicatedSimplicite I agree with you too. It's a complex phenomenon, but I think you explain it very well.
@@anival9576 Thank you so much! That is very kind of you to say. 🙏
Infp is the most introverted of all having the phlegmatic super introvert as dominant and the melancholy ordinary introvert as secondary with choleric third and Sanguine fourth
The second most introvert has the Sanguine as third and choleric in fourth
I call them double predominant introvert
They attract the double predominant extroverts like estj
The other double the introvert is the intj with melancholy dominant and phlegmatic secondary
The INFJ is melancholy dominant with the Sanguine extrovert as secondary
This places them in the middle as the most extroverted introvert while the doubles are at either extreme
Man, I love this! What a great explanation! 👏🏻 thank YOU so much.
Also good accurate description of difference between cholerics and melancholy
1976 introduced to Dr Tim Lahayes book understanding the male temperament
@@christophergraves6725 also check out Irini Rockwell's book,The five wisdom temperaments.
The most complete explanation of certain base temperaments in particular her Buddha temperament is phlegmatic, Ratna melancholy, Padma sanguine. Vajra melancholy and choleric dominant. Karma cholerics, sanguine with melancholy third. Mb also helpful,I tend to think Hippocrates gave us the lowest common denominator.
Phlegmatic super introvert the sensing material world internalized
Melancholy ordinary introvert the abstract intuitive world internalized
Choleric orderinary extrovert external focus on exterior sensing material world similar to phlegmatic
Sanguine super extrovert external expression of internal world of abstract intuition (dreamers) like melancholy
@@verntoews6937 Thanks, I'll take a look at it.
It's me and my son. It's been HARD.
Even though i have a good memory I'm closer to an infj cause having a good memory is all i have in common with them
This is absurd. The 'P' and 'J' are on a *spectrum* - it's not binary, it's not either/or. You can be 49% 'P' and 51% 'J', for example.
I think I’m both , ima call it INFJP.
Same
I remember things moments from when I was 3 , no joke
I tested as a INFP but I have a lot of characteristics of INFJs.
Understandable but complex
I feel like this info is not the best to identify someone based on their personalities type. I have boh INFJ and INFP traits and I know that I have both works with me so I'm fine with it. I also tend to draw in people who are more introverted instead of extrovert. Even though I can balance the two out.
Thank you
When your a infj with a few infp traits but you definitely are way more attracted to introverted types and not extroverted soooo 😂😂
I have 5 INFJ friend me an infp-t is not really In need of attention.....INFJ always seek compliment and validation
Who do you think worries more about physicall apperance? Would INFJ boy be mad when he fails to lift certain weight? And who would be more stereotypical in terms of love/marriage?
INFJ males are not stereotypical men. Thus your first question would generally lean towards no.
I think INFJs worry more about physical appearance than INFPs, on average, but individuals vary... so there's some overlap.
Something like that would be more of an annoyance than provocative.
i refuse to believe that im infj to the point where these points messed up my thinking
I am an infj and my son is an infp. We have had some trauma and I am trying to help him for years but we are so similar it is difficult.
Okay so the first things are the totsl opposite to me(infp) and my bf(infj)… what the
But INFJ's are even worse at Te then INFP's. So they need Te individuals even more.
I must be some hybrid of the two ... perhaps all the childhood trauma and lifetime journey of healing from said.
Interesting. I kind of vibe with both. 🤔 my gf is def an INFP but idk if I’m an INFP/J
Some of these statements are too simple and too broad. "Infps don't let others feelings influence their decisions" Definitely not true.
My momma- I love her- she is an INFJ and mean as a snake coated with sweet honey and ice cream
Well rarest of the rare infjs also have a great memo...like i do ^_^
I will probably make someone angry especially infp as I see them as infj lites.
Yeah, not angry, but don't agree. Seems like a very shallow understanding to me. -infj
All this video did was confuse me even more...
I think I only heard one good thing about Infp and all good things about infj - am I wrong?
That thumbnail...is confusing. Are they similar or not ?
Combi... ✅
Has anyone else noticed that INFJ's are always better in these videos? Really gets old.
How confusing.
All of the little pop ups asking to like, comment, etc are very distracting and annoying.
I'm Infj but after mdd I become Infp 😅
i beleive im a mix
what about sigmas
What if u have both traits of the J&P???? 😳
☮️💡❤️
There is nothing different about them. I meet all of these descriptions for both.
They do share similar cognitive function haha you said douche do share...🤭😁
PTSD IS AN LONG TERM MEMORY THING. SO WHAT
INFP definitely not attracted to those types lol
Humm. Good but the infp and estj total disaster relationship
Wow. Seems like we INFPs are narcissists! Are we that bad?
It doesn't even matter now
Yet... you watched the video. In what sense does it not matter? I agree that you can live a happy life without understanding MBTI, but I think there's evidence to say that some people do live happier lives because MBTI helped them to understand themselves better. 🤔
Yo say this to the "REAL" INFJ frank James
Nothing in this video gon help Frank James. He's not an infp.
I’m an INFP and don’t relate to frank at all. It’s only every other types who call him an INFP, I never hear actual INFPS saying so. We know our own
@@raindropsonroses3919 I agree and Im also an infp..he seems more like an entp or something completely different to me. But not infp or infj.
You also have to remember that one's "stage" personality may not reflect who they actually are with themselves.
@@bran8370 yeah, in some of his first videos he does seem more philosophical and melancholical, like he got that 'stare' of an INFJ if you will.
dont see difference
I eat mud.
Something to think about: what if you're neither? 🤔
@Kitty Walker Lol, at least I'd considered it.
🤔🤔
@@lavlmoon Have you tested as either one? What if you are neither? Then you are one of the other fourteen types ;-P
