I give it a 9.9 out of 10. If the keyboard player wore a cape, that would have given it a perfect score
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just now finally watched this and had this EXACT thought!
Funny you should mention that. They just had a video out this week of “Siberian Khatru” and he is donning a cape. Must’ve seen your comment 👍😂
Makes since
The Secret Box/Band Geeks - 9.8/10 in IMDB
Jon Anderson was so impressed with this, they are now doing concert dates with him!.
Vocalista.....imbrarazzante......
What the hell did I just watch?? I can't wipe this grin off of my face. That was the best cover of one of the best songs ever written. Holy crap. Who are you guys?
I would say some criminally unknown and passionate virtuosos with the gall to play some of the most difficult rock music ever written...and perfectly at that. If only the dumbed down masses would embrace good stuff like this again...sigh..
They are just awesome ! Wish they would tour...
Excellent rendition. But the drummer ain't no Bill Bruford - that's for sure!
Amen! to the orig post on this thread. Your band is living proof that there is hope for the music world.Bravo!
@@UrbanMonkey55 If only we could all be as brilliant and sophisticated as you. But here I am still listening to The Clash. This is good though.
This song was a golden experience. AMAZING!
A bizarre adventure, for sure.
In fact, the whole song is so ridiculously well done it's incredible.
Ridiculously incredible 👍😃
Absolutely. At first I wasn’t sure about a female lead singer but she brings a whole new vibe while being true to the original. Love it
WOW 👍
Incredible!
@@danc3746 There were multiple goosebumps throughout. That was good/impressive.
This is THE song that changed my life in 1973. I was a child pianist in my 8th year at New England Conservatory of Music playing classical piano. Heard this song. Had no idea what or who it was. Quit the piano, got guitar for my b-day, still didn't know who the band was. Then heard 25 or 6 to 4 by Chicago, life changed again. Found out1st band was Yes, but didn't know if the song was called Fragile or Roundabout for like a year. Played guitar every day. Walked into big music store. I wouldn't leave til they hired me. Got the job after 1 year. Started selling and fixing guitars. Fixed as many guitars as I could so finally quit stores and opened guitar repair shop 44 years ago. Haven't stopped since.
Have you seen Steve Howe play live ?
That story kicks as much ass as their cover of Roundabout !!
Congrats on doing and living it "your way"!! And thank you for sharing !
Thank you for living your dream! Unlike many of us... still looking for a way to live it and almost 56...
My mom and dad met while studying at the Boston conservatory of music in the 60's.
You could do worse than having Steve Howe and Terry Kath as inspiration.
I've been playing professionally for 30 years, and I've played with some great musicians. You guys are certainly the cream of the crop. God bless your excellence.
How is this possible? This should be shown to anybody willing to learn what PERFECTION is.
my thoughts exactly
I love the guy on bass; he's got the growling Ricky-tone down, his back-up vocals are great, and watching him having so much fun while exuding the joy of making music with his friends is just so wonderful.
PLAYS WITH BOC POP OWNS MUSIC IN NYC HE IS ALSO A TEACHER THERE
Richie Castellano has many talents, besides these amazing covers, he also plays lead guitar/keyboards for Legendary rockers Blue Oyster Cult!
Saw him with BOC, and he’s a monster blending In with Buck Dharma
This is stunning cover of Yes’ a Band not easy to cover
Leader of the band
Yeah! Excellent growl - I miss my Ricky.
The lead vocalist is his wife. Awesome to be able to make make music with your soul mate.
Interesting how this nearly 50 year-old music still resonates and maintains its relevance in 2020.....
People have forgotten how it's done. Now it's autotuned bimbos in their underwear and guys talking to a drum machine.
Yes music is Universal.
I got the "Yes" album featuring this song as a graduation present in 1970! This is an awesome version. Still a fantastic song.
I could not imagine that when I was listening to this music in those days that I would still be here listening to this music in these days of 2020.
@@oberryconnection this is from Fragile 👍
The keyboard player deserves a big shoutout. Incredible cover.
My jaw hit the floor. Five minutes later, it's still there.
That bass tone is spot on. The whole thing is amazing
Its uncanny how good it is
The Ric w/pick ... sets it off. However when at the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame induction, Geddy Lee used a Jazz bass and just his finger and he got really close as well
Yeah, that really struck me too. I was really blown away when it hit and went "Yep, that explains it" as soon as I saw the Ric. Dude's a great player.
@@tedblumstein6772 On early Rush stuff, Geddy played a 4001 because one of his heroes did - Chris Squire. Even though Geddy played it rest stroke, there's no mistaking a Ric with roundwound strings.
Chris Squire would give two thumbs up!
Not many talking bout the keyboard player,he is nailing it,sure wakeman would approve.
He gets the Ringo Starr (at least post-Rubber Soul Ringo) award for calm, business-like attitude!
What Robert said :)
As a keyboard player in a tribute band I fully agree! 🎹
Christine Vick what’s your tribute band?paying tribute to who?
Prolly because of those mountains standing there.
Ive been a Yes fan since 1968 when I saw then play at The Marquee Club in Wardour Street. I know their music inside out and back to front and let me tell you this version is fabulous. A real attention to detail and a wonderful tribute. Well done Band Geeks.....
What was life in the 60s and 70s like mate yknow since there wasn’t no phones and shi
@@ArseneLupinVIII, telephones existed, but you could not carry them around with you, or do anything but call people on them, and they also had a separate base and receiver, plus the receiver had a cord on them and the telephone would have to be plugged into the wall on a special cord, like it was a primitive sort of modem that you could not take out of the wall. However, as for everything else that you said, may you please be a bit more specific on that information? Thank you.
This cover does not have any business sounding as effing incredible as it does! Most covers tend to miss something, but this one is so spot on that it has me jumping out of my chair. Honestly, her vocals transcend the original. Geez, this is so great!
if you haven't already check out Lexington Lab Band
AAAHHHH, That wonderful Rickenbacker bass growling :)
I always wondered what it would be like to have talent, and friends.
Dude, it's awesome.
Sometimes our talent is our love of music.
Truth. I wonder the same, often.
Actually they are always looking for kazoo players.
Friends are cool, but talent is great,.
So brilliant that Jon Anderson now has them as his backing band!
I can’t even imagine how much work went into producing this video, and the talent involved. I have seen yes probably three or four times in the 70s, and they were all virtuosos and to reproduce the vibe and the feel of that day and time the way you guys did blows my 60-year-old mind away and does my heart good that young people appreciate this music, thank you for restoring my faith!
This is one of the tightest covers I've ever heard.
Faultless! And you just gotta love the growl of that Rickenbacker!
As someone said in another video, that's what it would sound like if crocodiles could sing
Mind you, with the right settings I can get my Jazz Bass 5 string to sound pretty close!
Never really got on with Rickys. Once I got used to the scale and neck dimensions of a normal jazz bass, a Ricky feels like a toy, by comparison.
But hey...à chacun son goût!
These guys rock! And yeah, I LOVE that bass line!
At first I thought it was a clavichord.
Nailed Squire's bass sound. Nice job.
I can remember the original blowing me away back in the 70's, blown.away.again!
This proves that COVID 19 cannot defeat rock'n roll.
@MYRMIDION how about the metal?
Or Prog.
love your logo FZ!
Covid can not defeat too many things. Even people. The bigger part of the dead persons having SARS-CoV2 in their bodies wasn't killed by the viral action, but for other reasons. The virus was just there, but governments put these deaths on the statistic numbers as the virus was the cause.
Watching someone other than Yes do Yes so well is joy in a different league.
Yea, these are seriously perilous waters musically speaking. Gotta have those chops to take their work on
I'm pretty sure I've listened to this about 50 times and have yet to tire of it. Literally the best cover I have ever heard, hands down. Just perfection.
Love Ann Marie, she rocks!!! When she sings Close/Edge and Heart/Sunrise and my favorite South side of the Sky it makes me so happy.
I don't listen to this version very often, but when I do, my neighbor's do, too!
When the windows start to rattle, yer getting close!
Yes does a pretty good cover of this...

Great job! Bass player KILLED it! Vocals.....shes soooo good!
I keep listening to Band Geeks with Jon and/or Ann Marie, and Jon is still killing it, even at 125 years old, but Ann Marie has something special, too. Thanks!
I'd forgotten what a monster bass line Squire played on that. Smokin' - you nailed it!
@Phil Hofmann, Chris Squire was a great bassist and an equally great background vocalist.
Bob Holmes excellent point. People often overlook that he had a great voice with a vocal range that his tall stature might let you believe otherwise.
The bass drives everything in this song
@@thudor1 And songwriter. And a very funny guy too.
What that guy ^ said.
You bastards made me cry. Haven't heard this in years. Have the vinyl cause I'm old as dirt. Thank you so much.

This is the first album I ever bought when it came out. Used my paper route money, $6 a week.
GEEKS? GODS MORE LIKE! I’m a pro musician since the 70s (started in high school) god the bass sound is great! Awesome musicians! Thank you!
Extraordinary. Each performer is bringing a level of performance which matches or even slightly exceeds the original. I've never heard another covers band get close, let alone surpass.
Dare you say that, but it's true! I would say it too! How can this be slightly better than the original?!! Band geeks are phenomenal ❤❤❤❤❤❤
A “like” button is clearly insufficient
I say as I hit the "like" button
Clearly!
I hit twice, and then once more.
I want a “virtual hug” button.
Once again, great job everyone. Chris Squire is smiling!!!
Smiling? He's jumping from cloud to cloud hurdling rainbows!
Chris Squire may even be a bit jealous. 😃
Yes he would be proud
I’ve always loved Yes but but watching these guys gives me a whole new appreciation because I’ve never been able to see the phenomenal musicianship this close up. There’s a a lot of bands that can butcher this song but these guys, tack sharp and amazing.
The lack of JoJo references is freaking me out.
Covering one of the most technically proficient bands ever and pulling off every aspect was just pure joy and amazement! Every member's joy, precision, and passion shone through! The mix was also perfect and spotlighted the brilliant, complex bass work (Kudos Richie!), that few can usually accomplish, but you just nailed it... and some fun interplay with your (excuse my ignorance) significant other or sister on lead vocals!
A celebration of joy that I will replay many times! Now the hook is set I have to check out your other works!
So many things right with this video. Wow. The guitar player, everyone is so talented. But, the thing that really knocked me out was the menacing, fat and aggressive bass tone and performance. I've never heard Chis' part on Roundabout so clearly. Great mix and performance. I've watched many of your videos and as a guitar player, and huge Yes fan, they bring me great joy. Thank you to each player/vocalist.
My thoughts precisely. That bass!
@@globalgourmand absolutely my thoughts too. That bass was killin me!
Love that sloppy punch of a Rickenbacker
"... the menacing, fat and aggressive bass tone and performance." - I remember the very first time I noticed that Chris Squire's bass stood out in the mix like a lead instrument. I'd never heard anything like that and was absolutely mesmerized by it.
Well done, while I have no musical ability of my own, I think this is soo.. accurate I thought I was hearing the original
Didn't intend to commit 9mins to this... think I'll probably lose a few hours for all my friends that are going receive a share.
TALENT!!
Holy crap, that is a seriously impressive, loving tribute to a song that is far more involved and clever than I ever realised. Brilliant.
Thats pretty amazing to get Julian Assange on drums there...
My thought too, lol.
was about to say the same thing lol
😂😱😂😱😂‼️
LOL...he can play!
I thought it was Gordon Ramsay's little brother...
I've been playing bass for 50 years, and I've never heard anyone play that without butchering it!!! You guys absolutely KILLED IT!!!!! Thanks for making my day!!!

Geddy Lee did pretty well on it at the Yes hall of fame induction. But yes, Richie nailed it. It's the cornerstone of this song.
@@dleasman Agreed. Geddy Lee was the only choice for that performance IMHO.
Absolutely agree! I have always thought that Chris' bass line was key to the track. This guy nailed it!!
I have seen a couple of bassists play this riff almost completely accurate, but this one is completely spot on. I must add though (and many people don't know) that Yes' studio recording of Roundabout actually had two basses playing in it. The usual Rickenbacker and also an acoustic bass playing the actual bass notes.
Yes and Rush, the calculus of rock. I’m amazed at how every musician and vocalist have so much to do…no coasting for anyone here. Great job!!
You know, this is a better cover than I've heard Yes play. Just saying.
Steady on mate
Maybe you saw a bad tribute band... Yes in untouchable
@@garthok6224 Nope - never seen a Yes tribute band. Not even in the Drama years.
Back in the late 80s me and my then GF Joan dropped into a random bar in Boone NC for a beer one Saturday afternoon, and to our amazement a local band was playing anatomically correct Yes covers. We were both longtime Yes fans, and it was a surreal experience. Anyone know anything about this combo?
@@rationalactor Maybe it was these guys, eh?
alright... now I am utterly and completely OBSESSED with these people. Amazing players. Tight, respectfully accurate and energetic arrangements. 25 videos down and a whole bunch more to watch. Good thing it's raining outside, although it really shouldn't matter. The Band Geeks are IT right now. Thank you for sharing your talent!

I'm with you ... This guy's are great
I can't emphasize how brutally accurate and incredible this cover is Richie. Amazing talent. 10/10
Out of curiousity, how many takes?
NO.... the keyboard didn wear a cape.... that is a 9 of 10 :P
Yes amazing musician! I just saw Blue Oyster Cult, and Richie is so good it’s sick. This performance is so close it’s amazing, and we saw YES in 72, and band geek pulled off almost the impossible. Blown away…
Hell yeah it’s amazing
This is thru-the-roof awesome. Best Yes cover I've ever heard in my 61 years.
So many total mass retentive Jams in this EPIC piece of SOLID MUSIC. simply O-U-T-S-T-A-N-D-I-N-G effort ~
I've often thought that cover versions are rarely as good as the originals. Here is an exception to that line of thinking.
I appreciate the sentiment of your post, but as good as that vocalist is, the shimmer in Jon Anderson's voice just can not be replicated!
Ann Marie's vocals are always so spot-on and amazing!
Completely mind blowing as a musician myself this is the tightest group ever and I am speechless!
Go geeks!!!
You guys rock!!
I Saw the happiness of the group, playing so well this masterpiece! As a musiciian, I enjoy seeing people having fun with good music! Congrats from Brazil!!!
Most people couldn’t “Cook” like that, even if they were in the same room.

Top quality musicianship and an authentic tribute that sounds brilliant. Lead singer has a great voice and the harmonies are spot on.
Those two guys are the definition of Yes.
I found these guys through a friend of mine a year and a half ago. I simply cannot get enough. Oh, how about the drummer??? Amazing!!!!

Legend has it that Geddy Lee of Rush was nervous performing bass for this song at Yes' Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction. Really nice work, and that Rickenbacker bass sounds AWESOME.
I find it hard to believe that tbh, Geddy Lee is another level up from Squires

Your Yes covers are the best! It's always an absolute pleasure listening and watching you guys and gal, thanks for keeping the Yes torch lit in an awesome manner! 🙏❤️
Classic performance of the Yes song...
This is so good. Even better because we now know how difficult this is to do. The way i see it is that the payoff for the musicians when playing live together is immediate and "in the moment" , even during rehearsal. What I am starting to feel with this type of production is that it is closer to making a record in the studio where the "work" is in recording the parts and the "payoff" is when the final video is released. Great Job Band Geeks!
The bass player needs to be reprimanded for making me look at buying a Rickenbacker bass that I seriously cannot afford right now. KILLER tone for days and such thumping great song!! Subscribing!
I know!! My favourite part of this song and of Yes is Cris Squire's playing and his Rickembacker tone!! Just loove it!! And this bass player (and band) has nailed it!!!!
I just happened across this video and was listening on my dinky iPhone SE speaker, but the bass came through wonderfully. That’s a credit to a great bass guitar, great playing and great mixing. Awesome.
He gots a KILLER tone dialed in for sure! Ricks are nice, but you gotta find a good one, I've played some lemons, i would never buy one without physically playing it myself first.
Me too...
Lol, every time I hear this song I get PTSD flashbacks of trying in vain to play that drum part in the bridge, it’s brutal! 😄
I keep playing this number it's brilliant going to get my 4001 ric out and start playing again after 38 years.
I know what you mean, bro! It's great to break your axe out and work together with your friends on getting your chops back up after not playing for a long time. The most painful part is reacquiring the callouses on the fingertips of your fretting hand.
Nice to hear acoustic drums for change too
Benefits of quarantine, we have five times as much space now!
Amen
You said it Paul !
Also the Rickenbacker sound so GOOD on my DAC.
he smashed it
Always enjoy the “soft” intro to this song; knowing what lies ahead the anticipation grows. Band Geek you do it so well. Amazing!
Much like Rush's "Farewell to Kings".
Jiminy H. Christmas, that was awesome. I'm a musician and I know how difficult a song this is, not just to play, but to sing _and_ play _simultaneously_ is truly a feat. Not to mention how freakin' *_tight_* you are
Pulling it all off and making it look easy - a whole other level.
Bravo. Bravo. Bravo.
Love how on every Richie video you can see the pure enjoyment he's having its important
It's everything, and that's what I love about Band Geek videos. Ask a Yes fan to describe their music and they might say it's powerful, dramatic, complex, uplifting and beautiful - but I don't think many people's first thought is "it's fun". And yet here's the proof that it is! Mind you, you have to be a superb musician to be able to put that across!
This level of excellence is only possible when the musicians have great skills and a love for the music they are playing. And Oh My God That Rick Sound!
Ooohh, live version outro for a big finish - extremely well done!
Ah, now I have a Band Geek moment for you... My high school marching band played a great arrangement of this song. One of my favorite memories.
A marching band playing a Yes song.
That's blasphemy.
I’m 60, I’ve been in bands most of my life. That was excellent, excellent indeed. Thank you
My God, I can't even believe someone wanted to attempt this. Sounds so amazing! That bass is rich. And the keyboard - perfect. Damn!!! NAILED IT!!!
The distinct sound of a Rickenbacker ♥️
Check out all the others!
This is the tip of the iceberg
After hearing and seeing Yes do Roundabout thousands of times, this is very refreshing!
WTF !!!!! My all time favourite Yes track... Magnificently performed... !!!
I bet that up in the Heavens there's a certain Mr. Squire looking down and listening, nodding along in approval, with a beaming smile 🙏 👍👏👏
That was so badass I can't bear it. The hours of work involved in becoming that proficient... Pure BADASSERY.
Would just like to give a thumbs up to all the commentors on here. You all know great musicianship when you hear it.
May 2020....I'm a child of the 70's and I've seen Yes a dozen times or more - ALL, the original members. And WELL. I was amazed and thankful that you all collectively gave this song the respect it continues to deserve,
I could not tell...Was the Bassist using a pick ? I learned that Chris Squire did, and that practice was unheard of !!
As a rule, I don't care for cover bands....And for someone to Master a song from a band that is as technically complex as Yes is ….Again, such high praise you pay them.
You added to my day... Thank you !!
I'm pretty sure he is using a pick. He keeps his index finger and thumb together throughout as if he's holding one, and I slowed the video down to 0.25 speed at 4:06 and it looks like the pick is visible, plus the light shining off it.
@@CarlEusebius no doubt. My memory isn't what it was but I seem to remember him saying somewhere that Squire was his favorite bass player. How can these guys be any cooler?
Yes , bass playing with a pick? Amazing authenticity though ! Kudos
It was early 70's, I woke up to the clock radio 5:00a to do my paper route while in high school. The song that woke me up was Roundabout by Yes. Luckily at the end the DJ mentioned the name. I took $3.98 from my savings and had my mom pick up Fragile by Yes at the mall. This was my first album. I never got to see Yes live or on tv but I can watch you guys any time I want. Really brings back memories and you guys don't miss a beat. Still have my Garrard turntable.
Have to comment again. This is just PERFECT, Richie and crew. YES would approve!! You guys are the BOMB. Bring on more!!!!
The production and mix on this is amazing, I have just listened back and forth between Yes 2013 remaster and it is the original and great, but for any young musicians wanting to hear all the parts separated to analyze this is it. Very clinical but every part played super tight and lots of space to hear every note. Stunning.
Outstanding performance great work RIP CHRIS SQUIRE stay safe everyone.🙏
A year an a half later and I'm STILL obsessing with this song. I can't get enough.
Yes..! One of my favourite groups way back in the day. I initially thought at the beginning that the vocals let it down but after about a minute I was hooked.... What a grerat cover a she really nailed it..!
Watching people play and sing this "live' makes me appreciate even more how advanced this was for its time. So much going on.
Hard to believe that this is almost 50 years old.
Great job, everybody. A very convincing cover of a great tune.
This "quarantine" version really plays that up, too. You can actually see a lot more of what each individual does and how complex each part is.
Anne Marie - what a voice!
OH YEAH. I MEAN, OH YES.
THEY NEED TO CHANGE THEIR NAME FROM GAND GEETK TO BAND BAD ASS, because they are the most bad ass band of our generation. I am 75 yrs old.
