    It's always a good time when Stacy comes to visit! I missed the livestream and am watching the replay as I make scratch art boards. Remember those? They were all the rage in the 70s. You scrape away the black covering to reveal the colours underneath. I'm making a bunch to give away in my free art gallery.

    Aloha! Thank you for hosting Stacy again, I love these chats.
    I have been vegan 10+years and wfpb for a year now. I have hit my weight loss goals combining starch solution and intermittent fasting.
    I want to work on honoring my hunger and fullness cues so I don’t have to eat within a window anymore. I also don’t like to eat at night or after 5pm if I can help it……. I feel I always over eat especially during and nearing thay time of the month. Any tips greatly appreciated
    Thank you 💜

      Congrats on hitting your weight loss goals - yay! Stephanie, I think the best way to switch over to following your body's hunger and fullness cues is to throw your times out the window. I know you said you don't like to eat after 5pm "if I can help it." Instead, it would be best to say, "I prefer not to eat after dinner again unless I get really hungry, in which case I will listen to my body and have a small bowl of oatmeal or a potato."

    Hello from Justin, Texas! This is fabulous! It IS summer. The humidity..........air quality is terrible thanks to the Mexican crop fires. At least that's what I understand. It comes up from the gulf stream from Mexico so it only hits parts of Texas.

      Hello, Texas neighbor, Virginia! :) Yes, it sounds like it's the "perfect storm" of factors: heat, humidity, fires, pollution, geography and storm patterns. All I know is it's no good and I hope it ends soon! Good luck beating the heat!

I do the Starch Solution, but Chef AJ's way, 3 yrs to lose 100 lbs & maintaining now over 3 yrs.. after yo yo dieting 55 yrs.. this time for my health. & the only time i wasn't impatient. tnx for sharing girls xo

    I make roasted soy beans and soak them overnight then air fry them to crisp. Should I be cooking them then air frying till crisp? I use about half a cup of day for hot flashes reduction as per Dr Bernard.

    • @stacycross8480
      @stacycross8480 3 месяца назад +1

      The calorie density of the soybeans would be very high that way. Anytime you remove water from something, you greatly increase the calorie density, which isn't as good if you're trying to lose weight. If you're happy with your weight, then it seems like this would be fine, but I don't know how important the cooking process is for soybeans and their health effects.

    • @pamelariccardi7441

      I guess I start cooking them first then roasting them. My weight is fine, though I only have a couple of handfuls daily. Thanks for the quick response.

    Stacey I love the nori sheet idea, but how do you eat it? I can see adding it to salads but beyond that I don’t know how I would eat it.

    • @stacycross8480

      Great question! Donna, I honestly just eat them straight out of the package. :) I wait until I am craving something salty and I eat a couple of nori sheets. It does the trick!

    • @stacycross8480
      @stacycross8480 3 месяца назад +1

      Yes, please check out The Starch Solution. Starches are the foods that fill and sustain us. Fruits and veggies are great, but they're not calorie dense enough to center your diet on them.

    I always enjoy listening to Stacy.However, I dont understand why Dr. Fuhrman says nuts and seeds are ok to reverse diabetes and other conditions and the Mcdougall group says not to eat them. I am trying to keep an open mind but I really do not know who to believe these days. I wish they both agreed on the same method to reverse disease......

    • @stacycross8480
      @stacycross8480 3 месяца назад

      Dr. McDougall's stance on nuts and seeds is simply to limit or eliminate them during the weight loss process, as they are very high in fat and calorie density and will slow your weight loss. If you lose excess weight eating this way, you will likely reverse your type 2 diabetes, but eating nuts and seeds can make it more difficult to lose the weight you need to lose to reverse diabetes. Dr. McDougall believes that the standard American diet high in fat and animal products is the cause of Type 2 Diabetes. To reverse it, we recommend a low-fat, whole foods, plant-based, starch-centered diet.

    Stacy - when you eat the nori sheets daily, do you always make them into sushi or do you just snack on them plain or some other way?

    I have a question that is confusing me. I try to eliminate extra fats even healthy fats l limit. Then l hear other people saying that we need to add a small amount of healthy fat like avocado tahini and nuts and seeds because
    We need to get minerals from them. What is right is it yes or no?

    • @stacycross8480
      @stacycross8480 3 месяца назад +1

      Hi Karen, all plant foods have fat in them. You'll naturally get plenty of essential fats from your whole foods diet. Having said that, if you're worried at all about Omega 3s, you can just have one tablespoon of ground flaxseeds each day to easily ensure you get what you need. But even without that, you'll be just fine. You do not need to eat high fat plant foods or go out of your way to eat fat.

    • @karenstanton5405

      @@stacycross8480 thank you so much for the answer. this makes it very clear was was starting to think l was doing the wrong thing by not adding extra fats to my meals l do have the flaxseed each day. any way l now know l am doing things right. l am very lean and been doing this way of eating 5 years l had high cholesterol and hashimoto disease.
      now l don't have illnesses and l am not on any medication.
      so proof eating wfp based does work. thanks again

    I think McDougall only says not to eat nuts and seeds while trying to lose weight.

    • @stacycross8480
      @stacycross8480 3 месяца назад

      Yes, but also for weight maintenance. And generally speaking, it's good to keep your overall fat consumption low. You can easily do that and still have a few nuts and seeds here and there.
