Thanks Mark. It looks like the seasoning of the pan has begun.

Good info on using thinner materials. I’m currently learning how to successfully use titanium cooking gear. It is definitely a learning curve, especially on a wood stove. Also, recently tried your idea of using wood pellets in my Firebox stove. After watching your video it was a success. With two cups of mesquite pellets and running the damper correctly I got an hour of good heat. Thanks again for the great tips.

Regarding the frying pan, it has a coated version that can be purchased separately.Still, it's better to use a wood fire than an uncoated one, but it needs a little more oil and is easy to clean even if it burns.

I will check the coated ban out. Thanks for commenting

That’s a very nice kit. I like kits that stack inside one another. Well done Sir👍

Right on! I wasn’t sold on the set until you pulled
Out that little kettle. I literally just said to myself, a set like that should come with a little kettle and you brought it out. Nice looking set Mark. I use the frying pan and kettle out of my old cheapo set the most. Enjoyed having a look at the Fire Maple set Mark, thank you for sharing!

I have the set that had the 1.5 liter pot, the frypan, and the kettle
The pot and kettle with heat exchanger
    Super set
Changed the small kettle for the 1.5 liter kettle
Uses minimum flame for a great hot cook over a wide spread canister gas top

I love cooking sets like this although I prefer a flat surface skillet. I do however like to bake fish in a skillet with the raised ridges.

I like this kit. A smaller solo kit with a pot, pan, and a small cup with lid made of anodized aluminum, would be nice.✌️🇺🇸🇨🇦✌️

I have a kit with a smaller kettle and you can boil five eggs in it…Just info if you use that backpacking.

G'day Mark, not bad, certainly some versatility with that lot. Yeah those little D rings could do with more of a positive vertical lock, but all in all they look to be well made. I do think they'd be suited for soups and casseroley type dishes, with rice, pasta or noodles, amongst others. However, to be honest, I've come to steer away from "ribbed" pans and hotplates, simply because I find them a pain in the backside to clean ......... PROPERLY anyway. That being said, for steak, chops, burgers, snags, even fish, prawns and calamari, some vegies for that matter, the ol' grill marks do make a very positive contribution, so yeah a trade off in that respect I reckon.
I do know many, myself included, will tend to use old kitchen pots, pans, a kettle and utensils for car camping, since size/weight is no issue, and they're essentially free, .... so I do wonder who this "kit is aimed at, ... perhaps a multi person/multi day hike to get the most benefit ?
    Cheers Duke.

Car campers with small cars maybe? I had my doubts on the ribbed pan as well but it worked better than expected. Thanks for commenting Duke

This set is ideal for motorcycle camping trips, where weight and packing space are at a premium.

Hi Mark. Just wondering if it would work with a 27 series Trangia? Like the Billy pot, but not so cheaply made.

I don't have the 27 but I do have the 25 and the kettle fits perfectly. Hope this helps
