Scruffy seems to be deciding if he/she wants to be an inside kitty or not. Taking scruffy in is more about scruffy fitting into our existing house of kritters. Lucky is no spring chicken and he has no claws he was a rescue of sorts as well so he is a concern. Ironically scruffy gets along with Hoover really well, just not the way Hoover wants. Scruffy is more tolerant of him rather than getting along lol.
so true, one of the cats grumpy talks about loosing was a much older cat who showed up beaten half to death. Once we got her nursed back to health and inside I promise you she had the best happiest years of her life, but gosh the heartbreak is real. Thank you for your comment its good to hear from others who love our furry people.....hoover's grandma
I've read that our departed cats actually guide our next cat to us. I also know from my own experience that the cat I adopted one month before my 2nd had to leave was such a serendipitus "find". Finally, I later adopted a companion cat who was born only a year after my 2nd crossed over, & she shares a remarkable number of traits with the one that left. Our cats find us, it seems, maybe even come back to us. Maybe you don't need another cat, but the cat needs you. Or maybe you need another cat & just don't know so yet! Good luck to you!
We (me and grumpy) miss our 3 cats that passed very much, I just wanted to jump in here and thank you for your beautiful & thought provoking comment....grandma, grumpys wife
It is the same with me and my cats. Four of the cats I had, just found me. And one I took over when my parents died and one was born here. I never had regrets taking them in (although I tried to find their 'owners'). The most cats got along just fine. None of them walked away, because of the other cats. I see an other simularity... I have a kind of wild garden too. Only my garden has more bushes. But both have hiding spots for cats.
he camped out in our old tomato patch behind our house, a very inconvenient location, I must say. We are training him to come around to the deck for food in the mornings as I (hoovers grandma) cant get back there to feed him in the mornings. Thank you for taking in the unloved and unwanted and making their world a better place & thank you for the comment.....hoover's grandma
I'm not so sure it's fair to act this way. Maybe the cat already has a family. It doesn't look in a bad shape. I got angry when I heard very friendly neighbors gave food to my cat because now he comes home less often. A cat can wander up to 2km and if you give it food then you basically create the attachment. I do not give food to cats that are not mine, because if they're in good shape, they likely already have someone taking care of them, loving them and hoping for them to come home.
I understand your point, but the video is not the 1st encounter with scruffy (as my husband has affectionately dubbed him) when grumpy 1st encountered him about a week and half before he took the video scruffy had eye crustys, dried out hair that was quite matted and he was sickly thin. He was not caring or grooming himself. That doesnt indicate a cat with a home or a cat who is cared for. Now had he been in good shape you are correct we would not have given him food and water, but in this case it was obvious he was unloved and uncared for. In that week of getting food and water he started grooming himself again and he is much cleaner and putting on a tad bit of weight, at least we think he is putting on a bit of weight. I didnt know cats could wander up to 2km that is amazing, but once a cat comes in our house that is it, they are inside kitties. Most of them are not interested in going out after they come in, even so much as to avoid open doors but they always love to lay in a warm window preferably an open one. Thank you for your comment and for sharing fur kitty information............hoover's grandma
Definitely grumpy's view. I dont know what we are going to do but we are building trust and making sure he has food and water, which is making a big difference for him. Thank you for your comment its definitely a shared sentiment..........hoover's grandma
Currently there is no room at our local no kill shelter and we are working on gaining enough trust that he wont feel assaulted when we put him in a carrier, but you are absolutely right he needs to be microchip checked. Thank you for your comment....hoovers grandma
@@GoofyThingsIDo yeah… I figured shelters would be at max capacity, but they can still check for a chip. I didn’t mean for you to take him in for them to take him.
Take Scruffy in. See how he trusts you ❤

I hear you mate. We live longer, no matter, still save and give as many as possible a good life.

He chose you. Cats always choose their family. Please take him in. It’ll take some time for your other cats to get used to him, but it’ll be ok. ❤

He’s beautiful. I would take him up to a vet or the shelter just to check for a microchip.
