Happy Hogmanay to you and Teka from South Dakota USA. Just found out that this year's Rose Day Parade has a combined Pipe and Drum Band marching in the Parade this year. Unit #10 on the Parade Listing. Maybe a little Scotland on New Years Day.
Ahh that’s very cool! Hope you enjoy
as the video was playing I noticed that most (or all?) recordings are actually from the Hogmanay in 2019 - definitely the clip at 3:17 cause I was one of the little blurbs sat at Arthurs Seat 😀 Nice to see the figures from this angle again. Have a fantastic 2024 🙂

I'm making my first trip to Scotland in May, and I can't wait! Eighteen days of traveling through the country starting in Edinburgh ❤❤
Happy Hogmanay Sean ! Have a pint and a wee dram for me 🍺🥃
Happy Hogmanay
Happy New Year, Shaun and Teka. Happy New Year, Scotland. If I were able to see everything I want to and do everything I want to, I would have moved to Scotland. I am a fan.
Happy Hogmanay :o)
We're going to Edinburgh and all over Scotland in Sept. .sorry we'll miss Hogmany. Have gone to some here in Canada b4.
Happy New Year! Hogmanay looks like so much fun!! I would absolutely love to travel to Scotland. I've learned so much about it from you over the past few years. Someday~
I would do almost anything to have been born in this country.
Hi Sean,
Hope you got out to rhe Loony, at least to watch. Ours is at noon. Should have gone when I lived near the beach. Now it's far enough away that I need to drive, and while they do have blankets, the structure at the beach isn't stable. So I'd get wet and then stand there in the cold. No one fancies that.
Loved seeing the footage from when things reopened and tour Brazilian friends joined you, haopy times.
I know youve explained the first footing elements (why coal, etc) in a past vide9, but you could do again for new people.
Happy new year to you and Teka. Lang may yer lum reek!
Best Scottish tradition:🏴Greggs!
Looks like so much fun! Thanks for always sharing your history with us. I absolutely love your vids!
Thank you for watching
Hello Happy New Years I saw you on Scottish history tours. Thanks you for vid
Oh this is very interesting, thank you ❤
I want to emigrate to Edinburgh, so I will see this traditions live 🎉🥰
I‘ve been at Hogmanay 2019. I loved it! Was much fun seeing all those celebrations and the christmas market there.
What I loved the most were the performers there, especially in the evening there were some illuminated ice bear figurines dancing to circus music. I wish I know the name of this performance group
This was so cool! And I didn't realize Auld Lang Syne was written by Burns!! How did I got so long not knowing this? Thanks for the fun video, and Happy New Year!
Only you can answer that one mate. Not get out much?
Hmm, you're not watching Laurence Brown, either, he just did a short
@LindaC616 I don't watch Lawrence religiously, but I do enjoy some of his videos! He's pretty funny.
@roddymcniven8734 Too many interests, not enough head space. Burns is a gem, I need to pull out some of his poetry and read up some more.
@BlueDragonArt Yes Laurence just covered it about three days ago in a short video
Love this!
I'm in awe with the lighted torch parade! So beautiful to see the trail of participants. Are there ever any issues about people abusing the situation? Thanks for sharing.
Happy New Year!
💙
New to your channel so glad I found it. A little about my Scottish side of the family.. Any one with the surname Turriff we are related. Do to an abandoned baby in the early 1700 in TURRIFF Scotland a wealthy family took the baby in giving the child the surname Turriff. We have the family tree,it is quite interesting
Shaun, Moffatt here! Do you suppose you could go southwest and...maybe...make a video in...Moffat? Ian ( Scotland on a Shoestring) said he's going to. Maybe between the two of you I could see a good bit of it.
Why isn’t the torchlight procession held on New Year’s Eve?
The main one being staying at hame or visiting friends/family -so this pish is technically and arguably redundant
The tat market and schittfest. It's for mugs.
Lang may your lum reek
And bad luck if the first person in the door is a red-haired woman.
Love it yet I am a sassenach, nice not to hear all Khan’s set up Charles lll diversity messages. It’s New year for Christ sake give it a rest.
Nobody does first footing now and the Hogmanay party in Edinburgh is geared for tourism. Extortionate prices, steep entrance fees and full of foreigners, this isn't Scotland celebrating, it's just a front for the world to see. Tradition my arse. Well past their sell by date singers and bands (Pulp) for example... Jeez.
You make it out to sound like Brigadoon... Its all too commercialised now.
Bring back Scotch and Wrye and not this tourist industry driven shite.
Not best in world London allways fireworks display
Aye pulp represents scotland a total joke
