    This is exactly the kind of tour I needed! I've only stayed at the Value or Moderate resorts, and this year, for my bday, I was thinking of going a little bigger. I have always been curious about this resort, and would love to be able to walk into Epcot. Thanks for your honesty about the Cape May, haha, I'm sure a breakfast snack from the Market would be better for the price. It's definitely an exercise in trust, but going thru reputable websites like MouseOwners or David's DVC Rentals is advisable. I remember they give references and I checked them by sending emails to the references provided and received responses in a couple of days. This helped me feel a little more comfortable with the transaction. When we arrived at the resort the reservation was in my name and it went very smoothly. It's a great way to save money and enjoy the amenities available at a DVC villa. If you go forward, be sure to let me know. I'm curious about someone else's experience! I have always wanted to stay at the Beach Club. Our family has only stayed at the Poly. We do have a reservation at the Cape May Minnie character breakfast coming up soon, and daughter and her husband want to explore the Beach Club briefly while we are there. SIL says they are considering a Disney stay in the future when our granddaughter is older. I was surprised at the negative comment about the Cape May breakfast. Other reviews we have watched give it a positive grade. In a couple months I guess we'll see for ourselves.

      @@TheMouseScout Last week, we ate at the Minnie Character Breakfast at the Beach Club Cape May restaurant. Here is our assessment/review;
      The food was good and good selection. Our son-in-law paid for the meal; he said it was pricey for a breakfast buffet; BUT, the atmosphere, service, entertainment by the waiter, and the experience of the characters for our granddaughter made it worth it. I would agree with SIL on these points. The check in at the guard gate was quick and smooth. We just showed the printed email of our reservation. The check-in at the restaurant was quick and easy.
      After eating, we did stroll the grounds of the Beach Club. Our daughter and SIL are considering a Disney Vacation next year. This trip was primarily at Universal with a Disney breakfast and visit at Disney Springs mixed in. Since I am an 'old hand' at Disney with over 100 visits (and my brother used to work there), I was giving the kids a brief tour and explanation of various points of interest.

      How exciting! You'll enjoy being so close to World Showcase at Epcot. Be sure to make your dining reservations 60 days in advance. You can do up to 10 days into the booking window/your trip, which is nice. Flying Fish restaurant has reopened which has one of my favorite dishes on property, the potato-wrapped red snapper. It's pricey, but delicious. Also just had amazing meals at the new La Creperie and Chefs de France. Since you're staying at a Deluxe resort, be sure to check when the extended evening theme park hours are at Epcot. They're usually on Mondays. We just did this and were able to ride all the big rides in two hours. They're from 9pm to 11pm. disneyworld.disney.go.com/guest-services/extended-evening/ I hope you have a wonderful trip!! Great review! Which resort do you like best polynesian or beach club.. we are deciding between these two with kids!
    And also which do you prefer the studio deluxe villa or the regular resort room? Thank you

    • @TheMouseScout
      @TheMouseScout  2 года назад

      These are two amazing choices! I've actually never stayed at the Polynesian, but I'm going to be staying there in May. Why Beach Club is so great is it's proximity to Epcot's World Showcase and all their restaurants, as well as the restaurants at Boardwalk and Yacht Club. Also it has the most amazing pool at WDW. If you're going to be spending most of your time at the Magic Kingdom, then the Polynesian is great choice because you can quickly get there by monorail. Also because of the monorail, you have access to all the restaurants at Grand Floridian and Contemporary too. My preference is the Beach Club because Epcot is my favorite park and it's the one I spend the most time at.
      I also prefer the DVC villas because you get a microwave. Which is nice to reheat any leftovers you might have. Also you can get two queen beds at the Beach Club villas instead of a queen bed and a pull-out like they have at most other DVC resorts. So, if a kitchenette is not important, then you can get a regular hotel room with 2 queens.
      So, in summary, if you want to spend the most time at Magic Kingdom, then Polynesian DVC villa is a great choice because I think they just put in murphy beds in the studio villas, so that it 2 queen beds and the kitchenette. If you want to spend more time at Epcot, then Beach Club studio Villa.
      Clear as mud? Either choice will be amazing and I hope you have a fantastic vacation. You can always reach out to me if you have more questions. Thanks so much! Ked

      Hey E H
      I've not stayed at any of these resorts yet, but I've been doing lots of research and viewing (many) vids on youtube ... from what I can tell, the DVC rooms at Beach Club have hardly any decor or theme, and are far from the pool area in its own building - but can be cheaper (thru the DVC Renting sites) than a normal hotel room there. So you get all the proximity to Epcot, but it's one of the most generic rooms I've ever seen on Disney property. I actually ended up not using the DVC rental for that reason... We are only doing one day in Epcot, and will be spending the rest of the time at the hotel/pool for the other day. If you're going to spend your vacation at the parks and not in the hotel, then a DVC room is a good choice - all the perks without the flair. But if you know you'll be spending time at the hotel itself, then maybe paying a little more is worth it, IMO. I'd suggest finding vids like these to get a good idea of the layouts... another RUclipsr who loves the Beach Club resort is "Bookish Princess", she is as fun to watch as Ked.
      I've also been looking into the Poly's DVC rooms, and those look much better... again, lots of vids for research. And like Ked says, you have the perks of Monorail transport to the other hotels - which also gets you to Epcot with the TTA transfer. Poly also has a neat pool, if that's something you'll use - as well as awesome food, quick and table service... not to mention the Dole Whip walk-up! The official WDW site has info, but I like to watch these vids to get honest opinions and POV's from normal (unpaid) people for each resort and room options.
      And did you know that you can even split your WDW hotel nights? I've heard that if you're staying on property but want to do two different hotels, your bags will be sent to the other hotel for you! Then you can experience more than one place! It might sound daunting, but it's an option if you really can't decide 😁 Good luck!

    What was not great about Cape May? All the reviews I have seems rank it right under Topolinos.

    • @TheMouseScout
      @TheMouseScout  Год назад

      Well, first of all, I’m annoyingly picky. I know that. For me, breakfast was just mass produced food that I didn’t enjoy. It was flavorless. Eggs that are cold before you can eat them, rubbery bacon, mundane waffles. I would rather eat breakfast at Steakhouse 71 where I can get the most amazing grits and crab eggs Benedict for about the same amount of money. For dinner, Cape May is great if you enjoy crab legs. But of course, it’s very expensive at $46 for the buffet and add $29 for the crab legs totaling $75. But because I’m the only one who eats shellfish, I can’t get my family to go. 😒 So, because there are so many other places I would rather eat (like Boathouse or Steakhouse 71), Cape May is down on my list. Hope this answers your question. Thanks @meganfree9608!

    I have wanted to stay at this resort, but I always worried it didn't feel " Disney "

    Does it still feel like Disney or have the Disney vibe while staying there? I don't want to just feel like I am in a nice hotel. Thanks

    • @TheMouseScout
      @TheMouseScout  2 года назад

      To me it feels like Disney. Being so close to Epcot, the complete immersion into the theming, the beautiful lake and other hotels near by. It isn't like one of the All Stars with characters everywhere, but it is like stepping back to an early 20th century seaside resort. To me, only Disney can provide such total devotion to making a place feel like you've traveled back in time. I love it. It's definitely in my top 3 hotels (others are Grand Floridian and Riviera Resort). Can't hurt to try it at least once to see if it works for you. Above all else, being steps away from Epcot's International Gateway and a short Skyway ride to the Studios is the best! Hope this helps. :)

    What does home resort mean

    • @TheMouseScout
      @TheMouseScout  2 года назад

      When you buy Disney Vacation Club points, you buy points at a specific resort. This is where you have title, pay your dues towards, and have priority when booking. Your DVC points can be used at any resort (and other ways too), but you can book 11 months out at your home resort, but only 7 months at all other DVC resorts. Hope this explains a little better. :)

      We always stay club level at Beach Club. Obviously, we enjoy it but it may or may not be for everyone. I cannot speak to how it is now as we have not traveled back since Covid started. Pre-Covid, when we had the dining plan, we loved using the club level for our breakfast - never wasted a credit on breakfasts! We also had drinks before dinner in the club so we did not have to pay for the at dinner. The food offerings are a great supplement to your dining, however, I have no idea how some people actually use it FOR their dining. It is mostly finger foods, not full meals/buffets. The other thing that is important to us is a full balcony with seating. If you look at the BC, most rooms do not have a balcony except for a very small one that fits one person and no seating. We enjoy waking up and sitting outside while our family members take turns getting ready. The Club Level has full balconies (I think) but we always request one just to be sure. We also stay in the standard club level and have never had a bad view. I am looking forward to going back next year. We decided to wait because we do spend a great deal of money on our Disney trips and I have been waiting for all the Covid stuff (masks) to work their way out and for all the new systems (Genie) to be more well oiled and kinks flushed out.
