The improvement is huge, suddenly theres girls flipping and bigspinning into boardslides, doing big crooks, back lips and feebles on big rails. Around 3-5 years ago, nobody had those tricks. Im excited to see whats next.

nishimura is consistently clutch lmao, she always comes through even with all the pressure on her, thats insane.

I usually watch everything Skateboarding but I can't get over the annoyance in the background. Unfortunately the only way to get through this great footage is with the volume down.

hes not being rude about it actually, hes just making a statement. and i think he likes that they replayed it cuz it shows just how exactly things when wrong when her run was looking to be so good and how a little mistake on a trick to lead to failure. i will admit he comes off a bit brash tho and does pick on some of the guy skaters but its all in good fun and i think he is actually genuinely a nice guy

@@ssj360fan13 I'm certain you don't understand anything about marketing or the basics of global events. Skateboarding is going to the Olympics next year. There's a certain expected code of conduct, as with every other Olympic sports out there. Gary's better as a TV personality, not as a commentator. He still doesn't bring enough class to skateboarding. The way he comments makes you feel like skateboarding is a low grade, low class sports for peasants. When SLS has really brought skateboarding to another class.

This is much better than the last couple male X games I watched... Where are all these skaters on the street!? I knew plenty of women who liked to skate back in the day, but you hardly see any in public vids, etc. Great contest, great contestants.

@@postmodernerkindergartner960 I may have been a bit unclear in my comment- I wasn't suggesting that skateboarding commentation should be done solely by women, but rather that there should should be more women skateboarding commentators. It seems fair that if there are women who know about skateboarding, women who skateboard, and women's skateboarding in the X Games, then there should be women who commentate on skateboarding. And in an event dominated by young women and girls who are part of the future of the sport, maybe a female perspective would be appropriate and good 🤷

I'm just wondering why these children are not wearing any protection after watching that big spin front board ta noggin donk. Now I'm all for having a good time and they are killin it but at the end of a day serious injuries resulting from skateboarding accidents happen & safety should always come first, esp with the tots.
That announcer guy is so incredibly distracting... it makes me anxious just listening to his commentary! I'm trying to chill, casually watch this in the background while i do something else, and my chest is so tight from listening to this guy harshly criticize a 12 yo skater who's almost certainly better than him at her craft! The X Games as a long-standing institution deserves so much better, come on y'all...

They usually would bring on girls like Vanessa torres and Alex white but for some reason they don't bring them on that often not sure why. Maybe no one really wants to comment.
@@Friendsshare The last time they had Cara Beth Burnside commentating, she called every trick done on the nose a nosegrind (noseslide, nosegrind, crooked grind, etc), and messed up a bunch of trick names. She had a real hard time with street.

It is because it is the skaters’ decision. That is how street skaters skateboard. Also, if xgames tried to force it they would have the big professionals back out because that is not how they’ve skated for the entire decades of their skateboard careers.

Crazy to me that these females get to compete as if they're professional skateboarders when there's 13 year old boys at your local skatepark skating 5 times better and don't get opportunities for this type of publicity and prize money and sponsorships. There should only be equality of opportunity NOT equality of outcome. This is a perfect example of how that model is backwards

Difference is there has ALWAYS been opportunities for men or boys but NOW it’s everyone included and women’s skating is difference because we just got a platform. Nobody compares. Some skater girls are accommodated 'cuz some of them are "pro" or "popular". You can go to Instagram and you realize that exist *A LOT* of skater girls that have sick tricks and they aren't in competitions, 'cuz some of the girls who have participation in contests, are *SO OVERRATED* . That's exactly what I mean.

Dear X-Games, still gendering in scores..That's 5 minutes ago, really.
They're just judging the tricks objectively, if we see more tricks within the time and more risky and combo stuff, we'll see higher scores. Even the male skaters barely hit the 80s at this event. Also this is a strange course imo
